Hi Dm3k1,

Yep, it's already been noted that the penalties are too severe (though in my defense, the tooltip should have warned you about it :D).

For starters, I forgot that you'll get 1 Infamy for each province taken, on top of the number given in the decision penalty. In the next version there'll be a tiered system with no Infamy hit, and the stability/tyranny penalties will be a bit more random. If I get a chance, I also hope to tie the penalties in with the stats of your ruler: good charisma/popularity means lower chances of being penalised, while poor charisma/popularity means a high chance of being penalised.

Also, I may have found a way to implement the Release Nations feature. If I am able to do this successfully, there's a lot more I can add in terms of diplomatic interaction (eg demanding that a neighbour that's getting too powerful release a couple of vassals or else begin a war, etc).

There's so much that I want to add to this mod, so stay tuned.

I have tried several times to get it to work, but evry time it just dont pop the decision.
I can choose the mod in the mod menu when i start the game but it won't work.

Hope you can help.

you may want to have a look at Tribes and Empires mod, there's a te_diploannex.txt file containing diplomatic annexation scripts (using inherit mechanism).

also, for diplomatic scripts, you may want to test vassal = yes in a country scope, i have a guess it will work (another thing from my to do/test list).

:)

I'm pretty sure the vassal = yes trigger doesn't work in EUR. At least, the romegame.exe doesn't seem to recognise it when I search for it (while eu3game.exe does), but maybe I just haven't searched thoroughly enough.

The name is tribute = yes in Rome.

Tribute = yes checks if the country is paying tribute. And this is the only form of vassalisation in Rome AFAIK.

I tried this mod out this weekend, well the one that isnt a mod per say. Worked perfectly, though I never saw the AI use it. I didnt look at the decision but does it have AI = No in it?

Tribute = yes just checks if the country is paying tribute, it doesn't know who the country is paying tribute to. Which is the important thing when trying to diploannex vassals.

No, there're no restrictions for the AI, it is perfectly capable of using it. However, it tends to accept peace deals well before it tries to occupy every province. Unfortunately, there's not much I can do about that, unless I make it easier for the AI to get the decision in the first place (ie they don't need to conquer all cities, just a large number of them). That won't be added for a while, for now I just want to tweak the annexation effects so they're challenging but not game-breaking.

Hmm. Do me a favour: open up your EUR\mod\total_conquest_v1.mod file using a text editor. Is there a double-quote mark after extend = "decisions? If not, add one. That should fix your problem.

I'm an idiot, lol.

LOL so it seems.
It had: extend = "decisions instead of extend = "decisions"
I'm going to test the mod right away now.

EDIT:
And it works!
Excellent.
I see the penalty for annexing small nations is still very big. -3 stability. I look forward to seeing it toned down. As annexing 2 to 4 province minors shouldn't be that big a thing. Whereas annexing Carthage or the likes should be hellish on a state.
In any case, many thanks. This kind of mod should be great fun for when tackling greater nations, such as Carthage.

You should consider piling your extremely commendable efforts with those of some other modders and unite it all in a single package.

Thanks DV, glad we finally solved the mystery. Strange, 93 downloads of the normal file and only one or two people have actually experienced this problem? Interesting.

Also, if you think the penalties are still too big, feel free to edit them to taste. It's all in the EUR\mod\total_conquest_v1\decisions folder and should be fairly easy to decipher.

Alrighty, some news!

v1.1 is almost done, I just have to fix a few things and make sure everything is working etc etc. Here's a little taste of things to come:

Before:
occupations001.jpg

After:
occupations002.jpg

Note that this will only affect enemy provinces that they don't have a core on, so for the purposes of testing this I removed Magna Graecia's core on Ager Bruttius.

Enjoy :)

there are bugs in title_tcm_province_occupied_40 and 50 (gain effect limits are between 30 and 40 instead between 40 and 50 or between 50 and 60, and also the subtracted values are 30 instead 40 and 50) and title_tcm_province_liberated_60 (10 instead 60 regained civ). you need to be a little more careful with copy/pastes :)
