Back in the 2010s we had done research by League of Nation and Yearbook data for the population. We adjusted the manpower based on the research. In some cases (India and China) we had to add gameplay based adjustments to prevent a manpower overflow.

E.g. african countries we had only League of Nation data so they were pretty hard.

Perhaps we will need to add some more adjustments in the future.
The current manpower rework alpha tests had shown that we will need adjustments.

Right now, the only thing that doesn't put this mod head and shoulders above the others is not having the textured map and inf weapon display of BnI. Is there enough development going on to expect that? A lot of players, certainly more savvy at programing than I, really love this mod. If you've been distracted, I'm sure there are people that might help if asked.

Blood and Iron, along with All in One have a textured map, allowing the player to get topographic information while in political mapmode.

Ah.
Well. At the moment TRP is using the DH base map. We never had add third party mod elements before so a map change wasnt part of any TRP plan so far. Perhaps in the future...

For the weapons; i prefer historical photos. Ingame u command divisions so they are organisation and not Single weapon units. So i will keep the colorized or b/w Photos because for me they Look cooler.
Plus the weapon focus for infantry feels wrong when u think about the fact that most armies in ww2 used the same standard rifle for the entire conflict.

I recently decided to give TRP a proper go after... 2008? 2009? Not that I have anything to compare or note back then but it sure was long time go way before AoD or DH was a thing.

That being said, for all my subjective dislikes of the mod (I do understand the logic why they are that way though + some of those are arguably legacy jank from pre-2010s), the fact it is one of the few mods that does make strategic situation more interesting when even AI vs AI situation does not snowball out of control into completely onesided situations where either the war is over on extremely short notice after one decisive action, or it barely even started properly. This is most obvious when playing as minor countries, but even as major countries it shows up the most in naval warfare.

It is genuinely refreshing that key locations may require temporary garrison or even longer occupation because anything that has a carrier is no longer magical lightning rod that attracts combat immediately the moment it is within same sea province as another fleet. Utilising small patrol fleets to prevent landings or even have an idea where something was sighted, and escorts for transports actually work and become a lot more important is something that almost no other mod has managed to do. Air power vs naval units is also handled in surprisingly functional way that it is dangerous but mere 3-6x NAVs will not sink all the ships in the world combined in mere week. It creates realistic uncertainty and ambiguity that simply is almost never a thing in games like this. Same goes into naval combat, since in any other mod any time two "bigger" fleets engage it's either trading even blows into even losses or one side barely loses ships while the other side is sank before you can blink your eye. In TRP I only saw such onesided situations only if the entire situation was disproportionate to begin with, say fleet with 5x CVs spotting only few CLs or DDs. Or even the fact sneak move actually works in the first place.

Looking forward to see whenever the next major update is out.
