Nazy is pregnant again, but something seems off, but I decide to trust her. In January 1150 my spymaster steals tech. In June Humayan confronts me if I am having an affair with Mariam, I flatly deny it. My sturdy son Pashang is born!
In July the Nuffarids win their Jihad for Africa. In October, I go hunting for a toy Khudayar lost. I find it in the trash but he’s unhappy about it being stinky. He gains Fussy. In February 1151, my court imam converts Durdzukia to Islam. In August Nazy tells me she is pregnant! My strong son Behrad is born in February 1152.
I decide on a diplomacy focus for Khudayar. In July I hear Mariam is pregnant, though Humayan thinks it is his. In November my court imam converts Elene of Alania to Islam. The Nuffarids declare an invasion of Alania against the Khazars. Not sure why as geographically I would make more sense? In October 1153 my friend Humayan dies. His ‘son’, my child inherits.
In February 1155 I get my wife to help my with the finances as money just mysteriously disappears around me. My childhood rival Nezam dies. I decide its time to let go of my hate. I gain Kind. In February 1156 Khudayar comes of age. He is remarkably similar to me in a lot of ways, though a bit better person on balance. He somehow became culturally Armenian. I betroth him to the beautiful Gulnaz Nuffarid.
In September I chose the ambition to See the Realm Prosper. In October Behrad succumbs to dysentery. In April 1157 I go to a fair. In April 1158 Durdzukia asks for more land and I politely tell him no. In May my steward suggests building roads. In September I lose Patient. In November I realize I have fallen in love with Nazy! I decide to break up with Mariam who has remarried again and whose mental health is suboptimal.

They held out 7 years after Nandor ‘the Liberator’ was succeeded by his much less militarily talented son. In May 1060 I chose a diplomatic focus for Kavoos. In June a courtier brings his unfaithful wife before me and like usual I dismiss the issue. In September 1061 I complete my ambition to see the realm prosper. My new ambition is to make a friend. In January 1162 my spymaster steals more tech. In March I teach Kavoos to be Gregarious.

The Byzantines lost Armeniacon to the Mahmudids, who also regained a foothold in Europe at Bulgaria’s expense. They are lead by the Shrewd Muaddin ‘the Wise’ who is currently fighting a war to claim the Arabian Empire. That is ruled by the Akabids, currently with an 11-year-old at their head. The Basharids had a recent civil war but conquered Safed. Armenia is fighting a civil war, though they have a competent leader.

To be fair, checking with charinfo, I was right in my suspicions about Pashang. Humayan was the father! Turns out I wasn't the only one sleeping with my best friend's wife...
April 1166-March 1176:
I am the third of my name. Patient, charitable, just, and kind, a true people person. Sturdy at the best of times, arguably Fat now…Good at diplomacy, not much else. I am a Content person. My wife Gulnaz is a bit more balanced skillwise. She’s still salty because I apparently recently fired her from my council. My heir is my brother Kavoos. We are remarkably similar, although not identical people.
I own too much land so give my childhood friend Farrukhzad Danu (Durdzukia’s brother) the county of Alania. I chose Groom an Heir for my ambition.
In July I learn Durdzukia is trying to seduce my wife. Unfortunately for him, he created written proof of this goal. I immediately have him arrested. I generously put him in house arrest. The orthodox peasants of Albania decide to revolt. But I crush them with some mercenary help in January 1167. In March my brother Pashing dies. In August the Nuffarids lose to their revolt. Azerbaijan celebrates their newfound independence by declaring war on me.
In November we defeat him at Telavi. Then again in March 1168. After some sieging he surrenders in July 1169. Yegorlyk is converted to Islam. In January 1170 I lose Content. I decide to declare war on Azerbaijan to reclaim Derbent. I defeat them in April. In July a Byzantine vassal declares war on me for Kakheti. Incidentally Martha is an interesting person, an genius lunatic!
I siege Derbent then defeat her army. But I run out of money and my mercenaries defect. This leads to defeat in July 1171. In January 1173 Gulnaz tells me she is pregnant! To be honest, I was not expecting it after 14 years of barren marriage. In August my son and heir Mleh is born! He is bright and comely, but clubfooted.
In October efforts to rebuild my strength end in disaster at Telavi. I am forced to surrender. I guess Martha is more a genius than a lunatic. Fortunately Azerbaijan is occupying my capital so she just gets Albania. In other fun news a Nenets adventurer is having fun looting my border provinces. In February 1174 Gulnaz tells me she is pregnant again! In May my brother has a son himself. In September my daughter Latavri is born. Gulnaz has some strong opinions on military management. I tell her that is not a woman’s place.
In May 1175 Semender demands more council power. I am forced to concede. This makes me realize it is time to concede the Derbent war even though they demand reparations. My realm is in ruins. The Nenet adventurer is still working on ensuring my realm is thoroughly looted. In October Gulnaz tells me she is pregnant! In November I ask one of my vassals for funds, he refuses. In December I give my mother the nickname ‘the Festive’.
In February 1176 a falconing trip goes poorly. I become Depressed. On March 11 I die of depression. I have reigned for 10 years. My epitapth is “Cursed with an unhealth girth love for food, Khudayar was known for his massive girth. Many at court were fearing that his habits would lead him to an untimely demise for years before his death.” My toddler son Mleh inherits…
Burgundy has released Thrace as a tributary. Umaya Mahmudid succeeded in 1174 in conquering the Arabian Empire. But now he is facing a revolt to put one of his uncles on the throne and is currently losing with much of his family prisoners. He is facing an Orthodox Bulgarian liberation revolt. Meanwhile the Byzantines are facing a Sunni Bulgarian liberation revolt. The Byzantines are also being attacked by a Khazar adventurer based out of Ancona. Armenia has a rather incompetent ruler. The Nuffarids are facing a revolt, but should win. Kabulistan has seen a bit of a revival under Khan Toles.

I have the trait quick and am accumulating skill points pretty fast. My regent and heir is my uncle Kavoos. He’s just and kind, so presumably not likely to try to do anything funny to me. My mother Gulnaz is guardian.
Uncle has been landless since the loss of Albania, so he is given Balanjar. My sister Anahid is born in May. In October my steward collects a special tithe. In August 1177 my grandmother Nazy Nuffarid dies. In September 1178, I celebrate my victory in a ‘battle’ with other kids. I gain Haughty. The Byzantines lose Kartli to a Monothelite heretic revolt. In November 1179 Mom decides on an Etiquette focus for me. In April 1180 my steward collects another special tithe. Kartli is conquered by Armenia.
Money has been saved up, so we can hire mercenaries to drive off the Nenets raider. In May, I make a big point of my toys being better than a courtier boy’s rather than sharing them. For some reason he kind of hates me now. In May 1181, the Shia call a Jihad for Thrace. In June I hear that my marshal ‘beat’ someone’s daughter. Uncle imprisons him. I gain Just.
In October I bully a courtier boy. It’s a lot of fun, until he punches me in the nose. Now we’re rivals. In January 1182 I learn my aunt-by-marriage is trying to murder me. My sister Anahid tries to befriend me, but I am above making friends with a *girl* (or anyone else for that matter!). I gain Fussy. I soon make another rival though. I tattle on a boy I am doing dishes with. The adults then let me go off and read.
By January 1183 I have become an avid reader. I love reading about great conquerors. We defeat some Khazar raiders. By March 1184 I notice people sometimes pity or mock me for my clubfoot. I feel I have nothing to be ashamed of. In April I race a courtier as he is coming back from market. He beats me though anyway. I gain Playful.
In June I figure out Uncle is stealing from the treasury. The Monthelites launch a major revolt against Armenia. In October 1185 Armenia finally crushes it, having suffered heavy losses. Mom decides on a Martial education for me. My sisters Latavri and Anahid are rivals with each other. The former is also a rival of one of my rivals, while the later is a friend of one of my rivals. In April 1186, Playful becomes Deceitful.
In August, Armenia declares war on me for Kakheti. We resort to mercenaries and betrothals. I am betrothed to Azerbaijan’s sister, Latavri to Mahmudid’s son, Anahid to Samara’s son. In February 1187 we are defeated at Argun before Azerbaijan can arrive. In February 1188 we are forced to surrender to Armenia. Mahmudid never showed up and the rest of us were defeated in detail.
My demesne is now one holding, recently converted from a tribe and even more recently looted by the Khazars and Nenets. In March Haughty becomes Groomed. In June the Shia Jihad for Thrace fails. I have my first romantic experience, though it amounts to nothing more than kissing a carpenter’s daughter on the cheek. In August Latavri tries to form a friendship with me, but I want to keep my distance. I gain Paranoid.
In December I learn Semender is trying to forge a claim on my title, but my council refuses to let me imprison him. He however thoughtfully dies a few months later. I at some point apparently became rivals with Latavri. So for those keeping track, yep, I have 4 rivals and managed to twice botch potential friendships. Human relations is perhaps not my gift. In August 1189 I come of age. I gain Patient and Skilled Tactician.
The Mahmudids lost Karvuna to a liberation revolt, but gained Paphlagonia from the Byzantines. Armenia has expanded north, though they now have a child ruler as their previous ruler fell in battle against Azerbaijan. Interestingly the Nuffarids of Azerbaijan have converted to Sunni Islam. The Basharids lost a holy war to the Byzantines and the neighbors are trying to pile on. The Byzantine Empire is generally territorially shrinking. They did manage to crush the Bulgarian revolt. They do now have a competent ruler, Serapion ‘the Young’ Melissos whose predecessor fell in battle in January against Serbian heretics. The Nuffarids have not done well on recent foreign adventures, but the home front has gone well despite a child ruler. Kabulistan’s revival continues.

August 1189-May 1204:
I decide on a war focus. Ambition is to groom an heir. I break my betrothal with Azerbaijan’s sister and instead marry my cousin Mastana Nuffarid.
I have no demesne to speak of and raiders are sieging my capital. So I start plotting to kill heirless Semender. I banish the Nenets raider. In November Mastana tells me she is pregnant! Normally I don’t find her very attractive as she is homely and a hunchback, but with that pregnancy glow... I gain Lustful. In April 1190 we defeat the raiders. I gain the Flat Terrain Expert trait and lose a leg.
I then move to arrest Uncle for his treasury-robbing days. This is successful. I then revoke his lands, which gets me some tyranny, but also a power base. I move my capital to Balanjar. His wife is still plotting to kill me but she fled to Kashgar so little to do. One of my rivals though was helping her, a convenient excuse to hang him. In May an assassination attempt against Semender fails. In June my quick daughter Baydzar is born!
In August I recover from my wounds. Semender is plotting to forge a claim on my titles. He has also joined Uncle’s wife’s plot. He also started a faction to put my sister Anahid on the throne. My sister Latavri has also joined the murder plot. There are also rumors people are plotting to kill my wife. In November I try to arrest Semender and he revolts. In December we defeat him. In April 1191 there is a crusade for Egypt.
In May Azerbaijan declares war on me. For those keeping track, this is the 6th war between us in the last 70 years. Matana tells me she is pregnant, but I doubt it is mine, though I find no evidence. In October I am defeated before my ally Samarra can arrive.
My clubfooted daughter Razmouhi is born in January 1192. In July we are defeated in the Battle of Argun. One of my rivals dies of camp fever. In October my wife tells me she is pregnant again. We steal tech in November. In February 1193 we finally manage to defeat Azerbaijan.
My daughter Srpouhi is born in May. My soldiers get out of hand resieging my capital and efforts to rein them in just make me look weak. Semender surrenders in August and I revoke his lands. I increase realm centralization. I start plotting to kill Latavri. Anahid is happy to help. The Catholics have won their crusade for Egypt.
My cousin Kapriel, Uncle’s only son, dies in January 1194 of rabies. My wife tells me she is pregnant. My allies go home, so in July I agree to a white peace with Azerbaijan. Mastana has become an avid reader of romantic poetry, which I suppose is normal enough 19-year-old behavior. My daughter Vartouhi is born in August.
I decide to shift to an intrigue focus. In January 1195 I think a courtier is interested in me. This belief turns out to be incorrect. In February Mastana tells me she is pregnant again. In May I spread rumors Latavri has imaginary friends. My sickly, clubfooted daughter Satenik is born in September. She dies in January 1196. In March I find ‘evidence’ Latavri is plotting treason. I try to arrest her but she successfully flees and then marries the Mahmudid Sultan.
I start spying on Anahid instead. In April I spread a rumor she murdered a childhood friend at the age of 11. In July I decide on a Struggle focus for Baydzar. Azerbaijan lost everything except Derbent to the main branch of the Nuffarids, so I declare war. In October my uncle dies. I have now 2 sisters and 4 daughters, but not a single male heir. In June 1197 I capture Azerbaijan’s wives and six kids. In August I find evidence Anahid has pervese sexual tastes. I try to arrest her, but she manages to flee to Samarra. Azerbaijan surrenders. His sons are released in the peace deal, I ransom his wives, keep his daughters.
The Sunni declare a Jihad for Egypt. I missed it, but apparently there was no Sunni Caliph from 1127-1185. The Al-Turki had raised themselves back to Sultans after being conquered by the Arabian Empire. They eventually conquered Mecca and Medina and restored the Caliphate.

The Zakari after their formation rapidly seized Sistan and Khuttal. Kabulistan has been left weakened by the loss of the latter.

In February 1224 my steward has the bright idea to maintain the tunnels under the castle. But I think that is too risky. I gain Craven. In February 1225, we catch a spy in my castle. I order him beheaded.
In May Vesd comes of age. He isn’t necessarily super-competent but he is Ambitious and Greedy. I marry him to the beautiful Mahdokht Nuffarid. In December Melek comes of age. He is a much softer personality than Vesd. He has to be betrothed to someone who merely has a Sayyid mother. In January 1226 my wife Yasaman tells me she is pregnant. In February I lose Deceitful. Nazani’s husband dies so I remarry her to Cilicia. Melek becomes decedent, but I persuade him to straighten himself out. In August my clubfooted son Khudayar is born, my first kid since Melek.
I give Alania to my friend Theodosis. In December I make passionate love with Mastana, whom I have gotten closer too since I replaced her as first wife. In March 1227 my son Melek decides he wants to join the Bektashi, which I allow. It does conveniently remove a potential threat to Vesd. We capture the King of Armenia and in addition to surrendering, he is forced to pay a ransom.

In September I hear one of Aunt Anahid’s sons is plotting an adventurer war against me. Egypt surrenders. I ‘give’ Alania to Allahyarid. The Byzantines are managing to feed in more men than I expected. Unfortunately in November my attempts to win a victory in detail are crushed at Telavi. We are forced to surrender and pay reparations.

I revoke his title then banish him, taking the 3000 gold he somehow accumulated.

The Nuffarids are facing a tyranny revolt, though they should win. The Zakari founder was murdered by the Nuffarids. His oldest son got most of the lands, while his other son got Transoxiana. Transoxiana is about to finish off Kabulistan.

But the 18-year-old, recently crowned, Sotan Sircan did not plan to yield. He brought Xia into his war, the Samanids, and every last Cuman realm. Genghis Khan won many battles, but he never could fully subdue the Thizids. 3 of Genghis’s sons would die during the struggle. After more than 20 years of war, Genghis Khan succumbed to severe stress in May 1237. His son Chagatai inherited, but he was sitting in a Cuman prison and Sotan, now ‘the Lion’, demanded peace for his release. The Thizid Alliance had done the seemly impossible, stopped the Mongols in their tracks. The price they paid was a mere 120,000 combat casualties…

In May there is a Sunni Jihad for Egypt. I have truces with my neighbors, so might as well go for it. I hire 10k mercenaries. My courtier friend dies and I become a Drunkard in July. In November my steward collects a special tithe. I decide on a stewardship education for Latavri. In December we cross into the Sinai and I become a Mujahid!
In March 1239 we defeat an Egyptian army at Maadi, opening the road to Cairo! Cairo falls in January 1240. In April the Egyptian army crushes us at Heliopolis. Worse the Caliph is captured! The jihad is over…
There is a peasant revolt in my capital. I defeat them in January 1241, personally cutting down their leader! I am suffering PTSD from the Egypt mess and try to distract myself with wenching. I gain Lustful. I decide to marry Gulpari Nuffarid and betroth myself to Nahal Meybodid (her mother a Nuffarid). Latavri comes of age, so I marry her to Abyssinia.
In December 1242 I decide to declare a holy war on the Nuffarids for Azerbaijan. They are ruled by a child and facing a heretic revolt. In February 1243 I upset a courtier by being too ruthless in punishing thieves. We win a victory in October at Kapalak. We then defeat a couple enemy detachments. I kill an enemy commander. I get a slice cut off my face leaving me Disfigured.
In January 1244, Gulpari tells me she is pregnant. Mahdokht tells me the same thing in February. In March we defeat another army at Lankaran. I recover from my face wound, but am Scarred. The signs around Gulpari’s pregnancy are auspicious. My son Tatoul is born in August. He is slow-witted and has a lisp, but is comely in appearance. We win another victory in September. Mahdokht tells me she is pregnant. I borrow from the Bekhtashi to hire mercenaries. My left-handed but bright son Mleh is born in March 1248. In July we get our vengeance at Arkhyz, killing 1 commander and capturing another.
In November I adopt a stray cat. Zmroukhd is married to the Arabian Emperor. Mleh dies in May 1249 of dysentery. Mahdokht tells me she is pregnant again. In August I befriend a courtier while training. In November I give Gulpari the nickname ‘the Loyal.’ My attractive, bright son Vesd is born in December.
In May 1250 I win a spear-throwing contest. In June, Shahanshah comes of age! Nahal tells me she is pregnant in July. In September the Africans finally give up. Tatoul and Vesd each get a county. In December I have alms distributed at the local hospital. In January 1251 I start experiencing phantom pain where I once long ago had a nose.
My son Aboulgharid is born in February. I give him Durdzukia. In April I develop cancer. My court physician’s strategy of having me eat charred cat just makes me feel worse. In September I tell Gulpari to eat less as she is getting fat. She listens to me. In November I gain Brave. I have become known as a master of the sword, a Duelist.
I declare war on the Byzantine Empire for Albania. I lose Diligent. In January 1254 I manage to win my greatest victory, smashing a Byzantine army nearly twice my size. Unfortunately this is tarnished by them defeating me with only a slight numerical advantage in June. In October my son finds ‘evidence’ Kakheti is a traitor, so I arrest him. In March 1255 the Nuffarids call a Jihad for Egypt.
Shahanshah becomes decedent so I straighten him out. After some sieging and minor clashes, me and some allies fight the Byzantines at Sighnaghi. The result is a disaster. I surrender before they sack my capital.
Crusader Anatolia has gone native. Currently they are facing an adventurer war by the Al-Turki Caliph’s uncle. The Byzantines have had several peaceful transfers of power, improved their position in the Balkans, and crushed a Bulgarian liberation revolt. Armenia has slight expanded. Currently the Arabian Empire is ruled by Akab Haurid who inherited as a child after his father was forced to abdicate. The Nuffarids are currently losing their jihad for Egypt. They did however manage to repulse a holy war by the Zakari who have reunified and finished off Kabulistan.
The Mongols at some point vassalized Xia, but their Tarim lands broke away during a succession. Genghis Khan’s son Munglig inherited in 1240. He decided to avenge his father’s defeat and attacked the Thizids in 1243, now ruled by Sotan ‘the Lion’s son Bonek. This time the Mongols won. But it took 10 years to defeat the Thizid Alliance. And the entire war was over a single county.
In May there is a Sunni Jihad for Egypt. I have truces with my neighbors, so might as well go for it. I hire 10k mercenaries. My courtier friend dies and I become a Drunkard in July. In March 1239 we defeat an Egyptian army at Maadi, opening the road to Cairo! Cairo falls in January 1240. In April the Egyptian army crushes us at Heliopolis. Worse the Caliph is captured! The jihad is over…
