  • Naval War: Arctic Circle
These are two in-game screenshots I just took from actual gameplay in the closed beta version of Naval War: Arctic Circle.

Launching missiles.

Missiles cause (and take) damage.

Yeah, we like blowing things up.

Have a great weekend everybody!

does this game have any non-Mediterranean lake levels? Ones with real weather and waves?

Jan I remember in silent hunter V that the submarine was completely covered by waves. The ships roll etc and it hid you well from convoy escorts.
Is it ever going to get that bad?
I mean that kind of weather is great for sneaking up on somebody if the fleet can handle it.

That screenshot looks a little like a change of texture and colour with some rain and ripples. Its still flat?

So what your telling me is that world will be a nicer calmer place after global warming? :) thats great!

A high sea state makes great weather for subs, indeed, as they are even more difficult to detect.

Somewhat different mechanics than Silent Hunter, which is a WWII sim, but a quite similar outcome, actually.

I like it A LOT! Didnt even know about the Icelandic conflict zone since i only found out about this game 2 days ago until i found this video ( " http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdjhnyHE3cU " - Gamescom Coverage : Hyper WTF is Naval War : Arctic Circle? for those who have not seen it) and i saw you were using BIKF/Keflavik Airport. But best of luck guys with building up this awsome game, for me at least he will be " must buy ".

I hope this means submerged submarines... A submarine on the surface makes a huge amount of noise in bad weather because of the amount it rolls... Not to mention having terrible sea keeping abilities... In fact a surfaced submarine in bad weather is even more of a sitting duck than usual. If the enemy doesn't sink it the weather just might!!!
