I have loaded HOI2 updated to 1.2. I use Windows XP Pro. I went to my Hearts of Iron 2 directory to make changes to my settings (I wanted to turn the music off and check the screen sizes), but when I click on the settings icon I get a message "Failed to load ... settings.cfg. Unkown File Type."

When I was using Windows Me I don't remeber having any problem. So I went back to my Hearts of Iron file, where I know I made changes to the settings when I was using Windows Me, clicked on the settings file, and it gave me the same message.

Is this a problem with Windows XP, or is there some quick fix that I'm missing? I'd like to be able to change the settings.

Um, as far as I know there is no settings program for HOI2, since you cannot change the resolution of HOI2.

If that is the case then 1) Why is there an icon labeled 'settings' and designated a 'configuration file' when I go to my HOI2 file under 'My Computer'?, and 2) How do I switch off the music? The last one is the reason I wanted to use the settings file, and I believe that was how it worked in HOI.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.
