As for making money of Modding, we are still looking for ways to make this work on a consistent and fair way for all modders.
For those that say it cannot hurt anything, watch I think it was in the interview Angry Joe has with Fred and Shams and listen carefully to the hints they give about what happened when HBO came poking around regarding a certain Mod. TV and film companies tend to be very protective of their IP and tend to have large legal departments.

IIRC the initial limit I set was 1 gig, let me know what size you need and we will look at making it work, just might take a bit while I am still ironing out issues with less trafficked parts of the forum still.

Okay, thank you! We will discuss that in the team and I will contact you if needed.

Why can you not attach a pic? what happens?
I can only insert an image that is hosted on, for example, Imgur... but not upload it. As discussed in another thread (issue you replied about), i don't have any upload button in the EUIV modding section.

MEIOU and Taxes is at 972 Mo, and our composer @ciadude2 keeps adding awesome music, and we still have some graphics (like flags and event pictures, at the very least)... So 1gig milestone will soon be reached, possibly when we have our mod compatible with the DLC that PDS is cooking for us in June.

When was it announced that the next expansion is released in June? And what is its name?

There've been a few dev diaries in the EUIV main forum. Deals with improving your nation in peace time, also with an overhaul of how fortresses works. Looks very promissing.

Can't you upload a compressed version?
Make sure to use 7-zip's compression algorithm; it is a lot more efficient than the algorithms .zip and .rar use.

True (we always use Z-zip), sorry... was thinking like for Steam... I'll check again, considering that with Mediafire, we keep also the previous version for the players who need it.

I have seen those. But so far they haven't given neither a release date nor a title in those dev diaries. Also isn't it permanent that there now always will be a dev diary every week?

No release or name, but the date has been hinted somewhere by Johan so it could be calculated (three major extensions with big patch per year), or it was calculated by an user. Yes, the DD's for EU4 will be weekly from now on.

Not the EUIV DLC release date thread guys, lets keep to topic please, thanks.

This is extremely true, we have to constantly remind the world that we do not make any money via ads or even donations that people have offered at all so as to keep the mod alive. Paradox and us making no money is basically the only thing protecting the mod from getting shut down instantly with a politely written C&D letter from the HBO lawyers

I already posted on main EU4 forum but I think I should also post here:

As you may have noticed, Steam introduced today something called "paid content":
Introducing New Ways to Support Workshop Creators
The Steam Workshop has always been a great place for sharing mods, maps, and all kinds of items that you’ve created. Now it's also a great place for selling those creations.

With a new, streamlined process for listing and selling your creations, the Steam Workshop now supports buying mods directly from the Workshop, to be immediately usable in game.

Discover the best new mods for your game and enable the creators to continue making new items and experiences.

Starting with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Bethesda Game Studios has a history of providing strong support for user modifications in their games. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has continued that tradition, adding a comprehensive editor and integration with the Steam Workshop back in 2012. There are now well over 24,000 free mods available for Skyrim via the Steam Workshop, adding everything from new soundscapes to epic multi-hour quests, to tweaks that perfect the reflections on water.

With the launch of paid mods in Skyrim, you can now support mod authors that are creating top quality items and amazing new experiences for your game.

What I would like to now is whether Paradox is considering introducing such "paid content" for EU4 and/or what is the official position on this. On the one hand I understand that many people would like to get few bucks for their mods (especially those of top notch quality), but on the other hand there are already abominations like - I'm not making this up - Early Access Paid Mods like this one.

I would like to know this Steam paid mod as well. I think donations to support a mod should be welcomed, but this move on Steam is converting mods overnight into thousands upon thousands of DLC purchases. This is obscene, and any move by Paradox to support it will not be looked upon kindly by me, and I would guess many others.

Reactions:
What is most outrageous is not even the milking of content creators (legal issues aside) but the fact that Valve keeps 75% (sic) of every transaction. The whole idea is completely insane - what next, pirating popular mods? Mod pre-orders with 10% discount? This is such a bad idea...

People already pirate popular mods in the sense that some people illegally upload copies of popular mods to steam which other people then download. I think it was the MEIOU people who said that a pirate version was on steam a few minutes after they had published a new version. So people buying mods on steam are potentially buying pirated stuff which may even be illegal; and steam has made itself the handler of stolen goods...

Apparently, Bethesda were the ones who decided that cut: http://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/33m403/steam_introduced_paid_workshop_mods/cqmdpur

Exactly what Steam's cut is isn't known at the moment, but it isn't 75%; that's Steam + Bethesda's cut.

Good point, I haven't noticed that. BTW thanks for your work on the wiki Meneth, I use it basicaly every 2-3 days since the release, though I hope Paradox won't introduce any microtransactions to it ;)

I certainly haven't been informed of any such plans :p

Much like a manual, the purpose of the wikis isn't to directly earn any money, but to improve people's experiences with the games so they're more likely to recommend them to their friends.
Plus the occasional sidebar ads make people aware of new Paradox games/expansions.

I was joking, I don't really suspect anyone in Paradox of doing things like that :) I'm looking forward to some kind of official comment on the paid content on Steam though - right now it's just an experiment but who know what the next several months may bring?

To preface, Anything I say in this post below should only be considered my personal comment and does not necessarily reflect that of Paradox.

I went through the whole registration process, what a hassle to get paid as well, they basically want your first born and you have to register with the IRS and they will withhold up to 30% for US income tax, and they only pay by bank transfer which as anyone that gets those can tell you the bank takes it's cut as well, that is usually a flat fee so not bad on large transfers but I doubt most people will be making millions on their mods. it can also take up to 45 days to get paid. :(, They also have a DMCA system for copyright strikes, which I imagine will be abused in much the way it is on youtube.
