Ummmmm.... yeah, knew that. I mean... erm... they might be a bit more n that direction

Your installations instructions replace the vanilla event files, but that's not really necessary.

Instead, you can copy/paste all the scenario-specific events in the scenario folders (these end in _scenario, _relations, _characters, _titles and _countries). Rename them to something you like (for example, vampire_scenario, vampire_relations, etc.). Now open the vampire_scenario.eug. Edit the title at the top of the file, then scroll down to the bottom. There will be a numver of include lines. Edit these to fit the new files. Delete the "include = "db\events.txt" ".

Now go to your /db folder, and copy/paste events.txt. Rename the copy to vampire_events.txt Create a new folder, for example vampire_events. Copy all the contents of the events folder in the download in there.

Now open your vampire_events.txt. Reroute all the include lines that point to events that have been touched on by the mod (i. e., all those that have an equally named file in the events folder of the download) to your vampire_events folder. Add "include = "db\vampire_events\vampire_events.txt" (without the outer quotation marks).

Now, open your vampire_scenario.eug, and add the line "include = "db\vampire_events.txt". Save. The only file you need to overwrite is the traits.txt, but saint isn't really used anyway.

Voilà, you (should be) able to play withouth the vampire events if you wish, and with if you want to play this cool mod .

Very cool idea to make the ruler a vampire. I´ll have to try this mod someday, but right now I´m too busy freeing the holy land.

I never really liked those stories with tonnes of vampires in them. I like to think of vampires as being very unique. Someone who was very powerful in life who swore a pact with the devil just before he died. He shouldnt be able to make new vampires, but he should have the ability to turn his councilors into ghouls... which would make them immortal as well, but they should gain some pretty nasty penalties...

Well, tried the mod - and I must say that it is lots of fun to be an evil Vampire :) Got some ideas though...

Wouldent it be pretty nifty to be able to have a court filled with ghouls to do your bidding? I mean, as you cant have children (and that vampiric progeny is far in-between) it would add some flavor.. I've noticed that general events are pretty rare (unless you happen to have courtiers with the same lastname, in which case you can marry them off, naturally) as you generally dont have a family..

The way I see it, ghouls should;

1) Have low attributes, capped at <5 base, if thats possible. (Lets face it, the mindless slaves arent really the most brilliant, ya know)

2) Not dislike vampires, but like them. Its probably a chore to code, but it would be cool if they were 'forced' to do everything asked of them if they're vassals of the vampire.

3) Have atleast one of the defects, physical or mental. (Just imagine it, a court filled with hunchbacked ghouls drooling and shuffling about trying to avoid their masters wrath)

4) Be utterly un-marriable with anything apart from other ghouls.

5) High fertility score, low health score.

6) Would be real cool if they could be prohibited from having anything even resembling 'moral' or 'positive' attributes. I cant see a Zealous or Chaste ghoul... :D

Anyway.. Just ideas.. And if anyone wants to bother with actually doing this, it would kick some serious hiney.

I figured I had better remind you about this thread after reading about how much spare time you have on your hands. :D

Yes Byakhiam, but I'm sure we would all agree that this, your vampire mod, is a matter much more important than working on some silly side project with Mr. T. :D
Sooo, come on, we want an update to our favorite mod, for God's sake.

To mod a mod or to patch a patch? Not that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler to let the mod suffer
The sling and arrows of complaining posters,
or to take up code against a sea of events
And by opposing the MTTH, end it?

That's hot. :D

gimme a break with the WoD stuff... It's a fairly neat and complex system that doesn't have to have the intricacies included in this game to be worthwhile.

I think the original post outlined some phenominal ideas and others have posted some great stuff as well.

Particularly I think that meshing a "romantic" ideal into this game would be great! It's really screaming for something other-worldly.

When I was in Sienna, Italy they had some pretty interesting mythos about the city because of how hard it was hit by the plague. In fact, the art museum there had like 3 or 4 rooms of these really twisted apocolyptic paintings that were inspired by the black death as it swept through the city killing 7 out of 8 citizens or something insane like that.

They also keep the head of a saint there on display for all to see.

So, I think adding in those cultural fantasy creatures or legends will really enhance the feeling of the game because the unknown and unimaginable were certainly a part of life.

*Rises from the grave* Thank ye...

Come to think of it, I think I never tested this mod, despite downloading it.

It should work, but as those event file editings were done in previous version, any official changes to the event files in question added in newer official versions would be removed.
