The invasion is going well so far. Hopefully the Chinese don't pull off a successful ambush with their remaining armies (although that still might not save them, given the superiority of the Japanese force).

Chapter One Hundred-Ninety-Two - Taking Risks

UJ2TUmpW_o.jpg

Now the Japanese Army had to control the Province of Tianjin. They needed to occupy the Port to insure the flow of rations, ammo, and reinforcements.

dcFc1rnF_o.jpg

It would take some time. And in that time other events happened outside of the war.

For example a Cement Factory was built in the Province of Fukuoka.

iuXzwbVg_o.jpg

It was also decided to train five more Infantry for the Army and build three more Steam Transport and three more Man-of-wars for the Navy.

1EZbY0Tq_o.jpg

By late August the First Fleet had picked up the 2nd Army from Taibai and the 1st Army who had marched from Tainan to load the ships from the Port of Taibai. It was now heading north.

GSmkPsFV_o.jpg

A Korean ship was spotted and the Navy ordered the First Fleet to destroy. And it fled.

As the First Fleet returned to their original heading the Province of Sendai finished building their Cement Factory.

jONon6Cp_o.jpg

The First Fleet found a Chinese Fleet in front of them now. It failed to flee!

It was a risk to engage, as the First Fleet had transport full of troops, but the Japanese Navy decided to go for it.

u3NlcHmG_o.jpg

It was, once again, a one-sided victory. Both Chinese ships were sent to the bottom of the sea.

OH32WYqX_o.jpg

And on top of that there was more good news. The troops in Province of Tianjin had finally taken control of it. The Port was now secure. Now all the Navy had to do was drop off the reinforcements!

Chapter One Hundred-Ninety-Three - Victory!

WQGgw0eF_o.jpg

In late September the Army was ready. The pawns were on the board and the Japanese planned to be aggressive.

TUqJejOB_o.jpg

The 3rd Army was sent after the Chinese Capital of the enemy. Over thirty thousand Japanese soldiers, mostly mounted, against about thirty thousand Chinese soldiers.

rTapSiaQ_o.jpg

The Battle of Beijing had begun. And the enemy was already having issues with the Japanese artillery.

2QzX0n2U_o.jpg

By October the 2nd Army was marching north.

KPowtNIB_o.jpg

While the 1st Army was heading westwards.

CchSTuOO_o.jpg

The Battle of Beijing continued with the artillery blasting into the rows of Chinese.

mOUiVPfv_o.jpg

By the 2nd Army had halted it advance north as there was a large Chinese force in its way. But the 1st Army had started to occupy the Province of Jizhou.

At this point China lost the Battle of Beijing and asked for Peace. The war was over!

cbBdD5kk_o.jpg

Now….how to get the Armies back to Japan? Well, the Diplomats asked Russia for help and Russia gave it.

hAdRTX0u_o.jpg

Now the Navy and Armies had access to Russian sea ports.

Zm952tIg_o.jpg

And the Island of Formosa now belonged to the Empire of Japan.

Yay!

(Also it seems like the intent was to have an image from the peace, but there is none of those.)

No, for some reason no image of the peace announcement was taken. I don't know why.

Congrats on your victory over China. They did not want to risk losing the Forbidden City... is Japan tempted to take advantage of Chinese weakness in the future? Did the European powers note how easily China was defeated?

Russia has already defeated them a couple times. I am sure Europe knows how weak they have become.

Chapter One Hundred-Ninety-Four - Post-War

zIDXCBWO_o.jpg

With the new Island Colony Japan had to reorganize its military. As this was happening the newly built ships were starting to be launched. On the 19th of October one of the Steam Transports was finished in Shumshu.

On the same day another Steam Transport was finished in Brunei. Of course both would have to train crews and load up on supplies.

q4YVlQII_o.jpg

By the 23rd of October half the forces in China had been loaded into the Transport Ships of the First Fleet and it was now on its way to deliver it to the new Japanese colony.

Even while this was happening another Steam Transport were completed in Bonin. The Fleet was growing even after the war had ended. Better late than never.

TnH2fflG_o.jpg

The Diplomats in London also announced they had improved Japan’s relationship with the British Empire.

gin6uzCx_o.jpg

Funny enough there seemed to be no rebels brewing in the new colony. HA! No doubt impressed by how powerful the Japanese were! Or maybe the islanders were happy to be free of the Chinese?

Things look to be calm in Japan after the war. Perhaps the display of military might is keeping the peace for the moment? How long will that last?

Chapter One Hundred-Ninety-Five - End Of The Year

ZgGDUZDv_o.jpg

As the Japanese military started to organize the post-war Armies there were a few announcements from the scientists.

7L7QxZhf_o.jpg

It seems they had invented Liquidation of Assets. So that a bankrupted firm or business was able to sell parts of its property to pay off debts or moneylenders. Everybody was pretty sure this had been around for decades. Maybe the scientists were drunk?

wiiVkz3i_o.jpg

They also said they had invented Sequence Planning. This was a little more complex but seemed to mean examining every step of production and finding ways to save time and money. In other words to make the chain of sequences as efficient, and cheap, as possible. THIS made sense and people decided that the scientists may NOT be drunk. Or too drunk.

On the 24th of November the government seized a foreign factory. Again.

UFUm62e3_o.jpg

A day later the Steel Steamers were finally invented by the Naval Scientists.

XIvy0njs_o.jpg

They were told to work on Iron Railroads next. Or at least to upgrade them.

4bRvy1RL_o.jpg

By December it was noticed that the Dutch and the Spanish were fighting in Asian waters. There were also wars in Africa and one small one in the Americas.

On the 10th of December the Province of Etorofu upgraded its Railroad. And once again a foreign factory was seized.

On the 15th a Canned Food Factory had been built in the Province of Osaka.

Around this point the three new Steam Transports had enough supplies and a good enough crew to head to Edo. There they would, in the end, join the First Fleet.

On the 21st of December the Province of Shumshu finished their Railroad.

By the end of the year five Infantry Brigades had been trained, armed, and made to join one of the Home Island Armies in Japan.

The forces that has fought in China had been split. One had been placed in Formosa and named the Formosa Guard. The other was named the First Home Island Army and sent to the Port of Edo.

Now Japan had three Home Island Armies. With new units mixed with experienced units.

Now, how would elections turn out next year?

Drunk seems to be the word. What is described has happened since bankrupcy was invented.

From what I can see here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_bankruptcy_law it seems more likely this should be about "Limited Liability", meaning that stock owners in a company can't be forced to pay the entire company debt upon bankrupcy, but only an amount equal to the value of their stock.

Meaning they don't have to worry about suddenly owing thousands over their ten or hundred pound investment. Meaning people would feel safer in investing in uncertain prospects, meaning those have an easier time getting funding meaning factories are built cheaper.

Hopefully the Liberals win the upcoming elections and continue with their... wise... policies...

It's nice to know that Formosa is defended. Japan wouldn't want to lose their new acquisition so soon after gaining it, would they?

Chapter One Hundred-Ninety-Six - Elections

cTcL95Lo_o.jpg

Japanese elections were not like American elections or European elections. There was no drinking, fires, and only a few spankings.

2tDAdMeY_o.jpg

Sadly this did not help the Liberals. They, the Socialists, and the Conservatives all lost seats. While the Anarcho Liberals, Communists, and the Reactionaries all gained seats. It was if the extreme parties were getting the votes. Were the youth among the Nobles and Land Owners so upset with the old ways that they would vote for the nutcases?

Still the Liberal Faction ruled the government. But still didn’t have enough votes to DO anything.

Author’s Notes :

Will I ever get enough votes?

Chapter One Hundred-Ninety-Seven - Preparing For War?

RZn3eHCB_o.jpg

With the war over Japan entered a time of peaceful growth. First it was announced that literacy was now grown to over 54 percent. There was also other forms of growth.

The Province of Edo built a Glass Factory.

The government ordered the upgrading of the Fort on the Island of Bonin.

YmQ3znjd_o.jpg

It also ordered a Fort and a proper Naval Port be built in Tainan. A railroad was also being built.

zve8ADoE_o.jpg

It also ordered a Fort to be built in Taibei. The railroad was already being built.

In the Region of Hokkaido the Provinces of Nemuru and Ishikara were both ordered to expand the Forts.

In the Region of Tohoku the Provinces of Aomori, Morioka, Sendai, Yamagata, Fukushima, and Akita had their Forts upgraded.

Around this time a Furniture Factory was built in the Province of Fukuoka.

The Region of Kanto had the Province of Utsunomiya had their Fort being upgraded. Utsunomiya was already working on expanding its railroad.

In the Region of Chubu the Provinces of Shizuoka, Toyama, Nagoya, Fukui, Kanazawa, and Nagano were working on upgrading their Forts. The Province of Kanazawa was already working on expanding its railroad.

The Region of Kansai had the Provinces of Kyoto, Wakayama, Kobe, and Nara upgrading their Forts.

The Region of Chugoku-Shikoku had the Provinces of Tokushima, Matsuyama, Hiroshima, Matsue, Yamaguchi, and Kochi expanding on their Forts.

The Region, Island, of Kyushu had the Provinces of Fukuoka, Kumamoto, Miyazaki, and Nagasaki upgrading their Forts.

The Colonial Provinces in Japanese Borneo were also working on their Forts. Bintulu was upgrading their Fort while also working on their railroad. Tarakan, Pontianak, Kuching, and Samarinda were also expanding their Forts. Both Muraleve and Sintang were both working on their Forts AND railroads.

On the 14th of April a foreign factory was seized! Then another one was seized on the 17th of April.

The First Fleet even received a brand new ship. Everything was running like clockwork.

At least no one can reverse previously successful Liberal policies right now?

Will the Liberals ever consider forming a coalition, or would that mess up their plans too much?

The Liberal Faction is a coalition of the Liberals and the Anarcho-Liberals. Still not enough votes.

Chapter One Hundred-Ninety-Eight - Trouble!

e57PI6cO_o.jpg

The world had settled down. A little.

yPKg3qqA_o.jpg

There were still a few small wars going on. One in Africa and one in Central America.

ZCwU28Zs_o.jpg

And Japan was at peace. If a tad, well, covered in smoke. Lots of smoke. People had noticed and complained. They complained about living near the factories. Or they complained about working in the factories. But those people were poor people and nobody listened to them.

In May Kyoto announced it had finally finished their Man-of-war. About time.

Later in May Sendai, which was covered in smoke, also announced it had finished the Man-of-war that Province had been working on.

At the same time the Province of Niigata completed their Liquor Distillery. Booze is always welcome.

In June the Island of Okinawa finally finished the Man-of-war they had been working on.

In mid June it was noticed that Romania was having a issue with a Jacobin Rebels. Fools! That’s what you get for becoming Communists!

And Poland seemed to be okay. Nobody had invaded it yet and it was a ally with the UK.

Looked like everything was smooth sailing from now….what?

DE7pkzdX_o.jpg

What? WHAT! Those traitors! They’re part of the Liberal Faction! How dare they backstab the Liberals! And themselves….wait...

Those treacherous Anarcho-Liberals!

Maybe these Anarcho-Liberals are unaffiliated with the Anarcho-Liberals in the government?

Even if they are, this is an opportunity to steal votes back for the Liberal faction!

Clearly an anarch in the government is no longer an anarch, so that sounds right.
