Congratulations to @TheButterflyComposer , Imperial Cheese Part 2 looks like a very entertaining read! I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of hijinks ensue given how wacky HOI4 can be sometimes. :D

And belated congratulations to @Bullfilter. I haven't read Dreams of Frisian Freedom but I need to check it out. If the quality of your other AARs is anything to go by, I'm sure it's a blast!

Blimey, this one got lost, didn't it? Alright then...

Thanks everyone for the nod. Moving swiftly on so we can get a few more before the end of the year, I've been happy to see a lot more Imperator AARs at the moment and it's been very interesting to see (as of now) rather untapped periods of alt history explored.

One of the most interesting, in particular because of how it adversely alters northern Europe, and the history book style of course. I award to:

Rise of Albion - Caledonia to Albion Kilocampaign

Many congratulations @Quintus Aquilla !

Thanks for the nomination and congratulations. I'm not super involved in the forums, so this was a surprising way to find out about the showcase, but it gives me a reason to spend some time reading AARs over the next week.

I'm not sure what has prompted this revival of Imperator but it is good to see. For my sins I already had this on my "to read" list probably from a previous award, at some point I should admit that list has gone the way of HOI4's historical focus option - Whatever good intentions it started with, it now has precious little connection with reality.

In any event, congratulations indeed @Quintus Aquilla

Congrats, @Quintus Aquilla. These great I:R AARs finally convinced me to buy the game.

Seeing that nominations are open, I would like to direct folks to a relatively new AAR by @Hobotango : Blood of the North. Folks who know me realize I have a soft spot for Norse tales. This one is told through letters as a framing device. Haven't researched enough to know if that is accurate for the time period presented but that aside it is well told and the author has done the requisite homework.

You can find this one in the CK3 subforum. This is one of the more impressive works I've seen since my recent return from travels and other chores. Of course, I haven't ranged out too much beyond the CK boards to check other areas.

I also want to highlight this because although @Hobotango has been here in the forum for quite some time, this is a first-time award in this category. Not sure if this is a first AAR for @Hobotango and we actually got to read this AAR somewhat by accident!

It would be disappointing if @Chac1 had not picked a Norse tale and it does appear to tick all the boxes one would expect (slaves, massacres, arson, more massacres, etc).

Congratulations @Hobotango
