It would be disappointing if @Chac1 had not picked a Norse tale and it does appear to tick all the boxes one would expect (slaves, massacres, arson, more massacres, etc).

Congratulations @Hobotango
Sometimes I pick other tales. However, as always, you are correct @El Pip : my favoritism is well known. The CK2 and CK3 subfora are brimming with many good tales these days, and most are not Norse. (I include the rather new Finnish AAR from @Cora Giantkiller in that non-Norse category. Many folks do not know the Finns are not Norse. I am very late to her work and just started reading. It too has great promise.) Fair warning: my comments (whether you think they are harebrained or clever) will be peppering the rest of the forum once I am caught up on my CK reading.

Ahem... I think @El Pip you forgot to mention looting and mayhem, but perhaps those should always be expected?

Seeing that nominations are open, I would like to direct folks to a relatively new AAR by @Hobotango : Blood of the North. Folks who know me realize I have a soft spot for Norse tales. This one is told through letters as a framing device. Haven't researched enough to know if that is accurate for the time period presented but that aside it is well told and the author has done the requisite homework.

You can find this one in the CK3 subforum. This is one of the more impressive works I've seen since my recent return from travels and other chores. Of course, I haven't ranged out too much beyond the CK boards to check other areas.

I also want to highlight this because although @Hobotango has been here in the forum for quite some time, this is a first-time award in this category. Not sure if this is a first AAR for @Hobotango and we actually got to read this AAR somewhat by accident!
Thank you so much, and to everyone else as well. I really appreciate it! It has been a long time since I've written anything, and I almost always settled on World War II stories, using the Close Combat game as a story generator. You make a fair point about the letters, that is a big "oops" on my part, haha. But a good story can sometimes bend the truth ;-).

I would like to nominate an AAR that has never gained notice in the Showcase before and from an author who has never won this award. Perhaps the forum can show some attention to @Koweth and his AAR The Legacy of Eadmund: An East Anglian AAR. Well worth the read.

Here's hoping you enjoy it as much as I do.

I want to extend my utmost gratitude for this nomination, and congratulate the previous writAARs on their work showcased on here. This'd give me an excellent excuse to read more AARs outside of the CK3 forum :p (just in time for the Q3 ACAs!).

Congrats, @Koweth. You may want to consider grabbing a parcel of land in the Inkwell

An excellent choice, I second the recommendation that The Legacy of Edmund is well worth a read. Congratulations on a well deserved win @Koweth

Now that a week has passed, it's time for a new nominee to have their AAR showcased. While I've tried to read other, non-Crusader Kings AARs, I've remained a bit of a recluse (much to my dismay), and to give another game a chance, I'd like to open this award up to nominations.

Given this opportunity, I'd like to nominate another AAR whose author has never won the Showcase before. I'm very much enjoying the alternative history of Argentina during World War II that you can find in The Patriots - A Hearts of Iron IV AARgentina AAR by @Captured Joe . Well worth your time especially if you know a bit about Argentine military history and you can watch alternate paths unfold for some of the major military figures of that era.
