My gut being correct often enough to build an irrational confidence in it and follow it over reason.

Edit - would any be opposed to me grabbing the game after Torn?

Probably not.

Kiwi and I might run something together if and when we have time and our schedules coincide.

Oh, hi. That must me. Like all women, I'm just so emotional and illogical. You might even call me hysterical. I'm one of those people who never listens to logic or reason or rationality; I just dismiss people's opinions out of hand because of my feminine emotions.

Speaking of, I'm a woman who used her "feels" to shoot a player in this game. I think they ended up being an unattached cultist. :p

Thanks for Jacksonian for GMing! I think this was my first big win.

I would have never guessed npstr to be last wolf. Save + turning = almost immortal wolf. Since he was double scanned just before that hunt.

I scanned Tamius at N2 and I contacted Audren as I scanned him N0 and contacted him right after Tamius scan. JL was formed. Without Cliges saves game would have been much different.

Figuring out Aziz was a cultist isn't exactly a great achievement. I'm pretty sure a mouse could do it.

Sherlock Holmes stories are hack level mysteries, but for once the line about whatever is left however unlikely being worth listening to is applicable. In no small part because it was right :p

We're used to doctors stopping curses, but that's just a convention. It was an unlikely set of circumstances, but it made more sense than aedan painting that big a target on himself that far from victory. A wolf would have no gain, and so it made more sense to go with a rule quirk rather than what would be suicide.

Probably not.

We'll have to figure out what's possible. I'm down to just a few hour window in the New Zealand evening currently.

Well, this was an interesting game, all round, I think. Good job on the goodies for winning.

First thing I did was try to role play. That was a mistake. Even as a goodie, I wouldn't have been able to keep it up, and it puts you at a disadvantage against anyone who doesn't, because you give away more information. I dropped it early, and for good reason.

My pack was the Jacob from Twilight pack, figured more would be done with the name than there was, but I guess not. I was in a pack with Capibara and Eternally Lost, both of whom were fairly content to allow me to lead the proceedings. This was weird, since I'm pretty sure both of them had played more games than me, but oh well. I guess I'm just a force of personality.

This is also my third wolf role in my sixth game. I find this fairly weird, but I guess there is a decent statistical likelihood of it happening. You'd think I'd be a better wolf by now, but nope.
We knew night 0 that Rovsea was Van Helsing, since he scanned the spiritually attuned Capibara, but we couldn't really do much about it. Maybe Capibara could do an epic last stand, like I did, to ruin vote analysis, but I don't think it would have worked that well.

I was the one who set the original hunt order, meaning that I was the one who hunted Torn night one. Sorry, man. Though, to be fair, that was more the RNG's fault than mine, but I figure most anyone else would have been a better choice in hindsight.

We had pretty horrible luck in general this game, really. Other than the late game hunt on cursed npstr and seer Audren, who at that point didn't much matter, the hunts hit pretty lame targets, all round. This is somewhat the wolves fault, but there was an element of luck to it too. Both the Doctor saves working, along with the witness, didn't help much. And then there were the seer scans, which hurt us a lot, too.

I should also point out that, wolf or villager, I have always managed to rack up votes after a few days. Not sure if that's weird or not, but it seems unfortunate to me nonetheless.
Now, I'd say the only huge mistake I made was hunting Audren, who I should have known was Doctor protected. I did, in the back of my mind, but I figured that the doc would either be complacent, or it wouldn't work. My hubris shows, I guess. Anyway, this was a real turning point for me, since at that point I knew that if the reds didn't hit the doctor, I was screwed. And they, didn't, so I was. Obviously, at that point my main goal was to screw with the village as much as I possibly could. When I heard Audren looking for hunters, though, I figured I was already dead, since I knew Rovsea was Van Helsing, and was pretty sure he still had his shot. Therefore, I figured I'd ruin a day of voting, and if they did try and keep a day of voting, I could just leaderlynch the next candidate. Might have gotten away with it, too, if so many people weren't on at deadline. It was fun, though. Knowing you will die, but knowing that by dying, you might help others to win, it's something of an exhilarating feeling. In any case, I died, with only a semi-wasted day of vote analysis to show for it.

I should side-note here, before I forget; I had my hunt set on Lemeard the day I died. And, lo, when I died, so did he. This wasn’t a truly random target, I figured that the doctor would be a medium-skilled player that was quiet, and resistant to getting voted. This left a few options, but I figured Lemeard was the most likely. I was wrong, of course, but hindsight is always 20-20. But what I find weird about this was that I shouldn’t have hunted that night. I mean, I was dead. So, either 2kNikk was on the same train of thought I was, or the hunt went off anyway. Only Jacksonian knows, I guess.

Now, I was pretty shocked when the game didn’t end after Nikk died. I hoped that this would allow for a late game comeback, but it was not to be. Was quite interesting to see other people’s reactions, though.

Overall, I would definitely say the wolves were outclassed. I would definitely not consider myself a good werewolf player yet, but I was pretty much leading my pack. Not to say that either Capibara or EL are bad players, but they are quiet, which didn’t really work in my favour in this case. I don’t know how the other pack was, but I figure losing Torn and LK was hard on 2k. You’d have to ask him to know for sure, though.

I definitely say congrats to the JL, they did a lot to make sure this game ended in the village victory. They were certainly worthy opponents, and we were clearly outmatched. Kudos.

God damn, I’ve gone on for a page, haven’t I. I hope you were able to sit through my ramblings.

I've been a wolf 2/5 times in WW.

Ditto.

Why, thank you.

I did.

We're used to doctors stopping curses, but that's just a convention.
I don't know, I thought the convention was that if a player was cursed then they wouldn't be visited by the doctor because they were turned, not killed/mortally wounded. A clear laying out of protection order would clarify it of course.

The rule sets I use usually have it covered under cursed:

Dark Secret (Cursed): If successfully attacked by Werewolves will become a Werewolf of that pack, of a variety determined at random. A player will not be aware they are Cursed. Neither the outcome nor the target of the hunt will be revealed in the update.

Well that was quite the unexpected ending. Nevertheless, thanks to GM for the game. Well done by JL, especially doc. Unfortunately that also meant that ordinary villager didn't get much mileage in this game.

Why should I? You are defending following aedan against all known facts to your ingame acteur. It's just like arguing with a woman who insists on following her feels instead of logic: nothing I will waste time on unless it's a very special person.

Relax, you were just dealt pretty bad hand when GM decided to do things the odd way.

I thought you did just because of, you know... catfight?

GG and thanks for hosting Jackson.

Other than that, stuck between a rock and a hard place. The baddies fubar'd this, the JL of who two players can confirm I'm double scanned give zero shits and lynch me in a request of an absolutely unscanned player.
The reason you were lynched was that you being a baddie and something odd being at play was the only possibility left. The only way aedan outing you would make sense would be if he could push for parity since otherwise it was suicide. And the only way he could push for parity would be if there were 4 baddies left in his pack and none in the others. I.e. 100% unlikely unless Jackson really had messed up balance.

This is why you put protection layers in the rule set.
There actually is an order of orders in the OP...
Also, my outing of Capibara on Day 1 was not actually my scan, but Rovsea's. He used his super scan and contacted me to do the outing, as he wouldn't be on for deadline.
So he just contacted a random player?

Because you magically saw through the setup and knew 100% the wolves couldn't win in a worst case?
We indeed saw through the setup. Were aedan in a position to win that would mean there were around 50% baddies at game start. That is way way too many even for a three pack game let alone a two pack one. The only left the possibility of aedan telling the truth; it is pure logic.
Frankly at the moment you remind me of jonti when randy revealed him to be the last wolf in a lite through the process of elimination.

The Lem hunt was directly stupid. When looking for doc you try and find who could be the doc from the in thread evidence. And with Lem not having been on for 12 hours prior to deadline and 2 hours afterwards then the only way doc Lem would be able to save npstr was if he already had set that order. On the other hand if the doc was one of the players online at the outing then the protection was certain to be moved. And lo and behold the doc indeed was on at the outing.
Though I guess tucan might have nabbed Lem due to how unlikely a doc he was, since had he nabbed the doc his new mate would have died.

@Cliges I guess you will like this: I just went to the national Danish news site and they had as breaking news that the government is selling DONG. And an analyst was stating that there would be queues of buyers to buy DONG.
Now why that was breaking news I have literally no idea, since the sale of DONG has been known for years.

It works well that I am a night owl and deal with 3-4 hours sleep regularly.

Maybe we could really brainstorm and do a Sparks theme? Somewhere in between your analytic math smarts, my misaligned synapses, and Our Shared Impeccable Taste, something good could come out of it.

Kiwi did Queen II the WW Game. I more or less came up with the idea. I was occupied.

Anyhow, this Summer might be my last chance to contribute something to this fine community. I've sired another Cliges or a Cligette (Joy of joys!) , and I've more academic degrees upon which to embark. Time is going to be short.

Why would I like that?

Do what you want with that. I hope that it works out well for all involved,

It's about selling an energy company called DONG (Danish Oil and Natural Gas). You have just previously found it funny how ambiguous sentences comes from things regarding DONG.

Well, ok. Here is something you might find amusing. We were having some hygge here into the late hours. We were outside sitting in a lawn with some family/friends and lanterns. A cousin of mine who lives in another building here has recently broke up with her boyfriend on the basis that he does not believe in evolution. Their pillow talk at some point the last 2 weeks or so turned to evolution and this guy made a comment along of the lines of "Whatever, it's not true." It looks like this comment was not received favorably, and he was insulted and made to leave immediately.

The rest of us (me, my wife, and a friend of mine) couldn't decide if this was more coldhearted or funny.
