So that's who's wolfdar you were talking about! -And there was indeed someone unwilling to share his suspicions in public. Well, I do certainly commend his wolfdar being of impeccable standard. Way beyond mine, and dare I say, (most) everyone here. I can't recall him asking us nicely to believe it or explain it logically to us tho. He still earned an undisputed mvp.

In terms of winning the game your method has it's merits, but in terms of being a game people play online for their entertainment it's not likely to attract much interest. I guess it's difficult to find a spokesman due to everyone wanting to win the game and avoid getting hunted, but you may wanna consider having your mouthpiece be more precise in his accusations. In this situation you had a number of people making conflicting statements which summed up read that me, Panzer, the Doctor, Ithvan and the Marshall (and more?) all would be hanged one by one until you found your bad guys. This nearly tilted the balance whereby the villagers among the accused were forced to support the wolves in the interest of self-preservation. Keep in mind that although the PJL may have had it all worked out down to the last wolf, that is not what you communicated to the rest of us. I knew your accusations to be wrong about me and a number of other people. Facing that I was left with few options but to support those that opposed you.

I guess it may come as a bit of a shock to you, but I'm quite pleased with my efforts in the game. I got more of a reading on the General and the Marshall than I got on anyone else after day 1. Granted, I interpreted my reading on the latter upside down :) -But that's no quantum leap to correct in future games. -And I'm pleased to see even mastermind Split got no reading on Ithvan. How he was able to pin down the hdk is the only part that remain a great mystery to me. Did he even post on day 1? He must have... but did that yield any information whatsoever? Is his wolf act pretending to be busy IRL and post next to nothing? Anywhichway... that's one impressive catch.

I'm pleased cause I'm able to have "fluid suspicions" again, rather than getting locked down on suspects. I made the first public case on the General (Bar Marty's placeholder vote which I honestly missed until he reminded us the next day) and I whittled it down to Ithvan, Panzer and the hdk on day 3. 2 out of 3 being wolves. The rest of the "game", bar that 10 mins recap late in day 3, was all out trench warfare between opposing "teams". No credible theories were presented in the thread to my knowledge. I kept asking what made people suspect, trying to play the game halfheartedly, but got no replies bar "shut up and vote as we tell you". Making any efforts locating remaining wolves myself was completely futile all the time the "game" was dictated entirely by some invisible almighty force. So I made no effort.

What I'm saying is that although my efforts do indeed come across as distinctly unimpressive, I know that I have improved quite drastically in my short time here. -And although my wolfdar will not likely ever come close to matching that of Split's, I'm confident I could get it on par with the average player here with a few more games of experience. The next step is removing my imaginary readings: Ithvan supported me -> good guy. Tonka accused me -> bad guy. Those are no readings at all, just plain noob mistakes by me.

@Marty: I had meant to ask you for a long time... it somehow drowned in the shootout I had with you and your posse on day 2: Did you not find it peculiar I voted you on day 2 despite you not making my 3-man wolfish category? I never intended to have my vote stay on you until deadline. I thought I had made that obvious in what I wrote when accusing you.

It happens. I'm a noob as well, don't forget. This simply costs us a day, and possibly one more villager a victory.
My comment was not aimed at you personally. I was addressing the entire almighty veteran PJL being outsmarted and beaten in an apparently already won snipe-war by a lone noob. If you had done nothing he would have been dead no matter what he did. He could at worst have killed himself to save the zombie.

I was not entirely honest with you when announcing why I was fed up. I didn't wanna answer Marty's question the other day cause I resent it influencing the game. Something happened somewhere between me and Tonka and it had started to spill into the thread so much it more or less ruined the game single-handedly for me.

@Tonka: I can assure you I hold no grudges against you. I would rather walk out and never play a game again than sign up to a game to deliberately chase down some imaginary "enemy" of mine. I have no idea why you chased me the entire game before last, eventually getting me lynched as a villager. I have no idea why you never replied to me on pm in the last game where we were packmates and I have no idea why you kept chasing me this game (contrary to the evidence you got presented as far as I can tell). I'm not going to insist you had no in-game reasons, but I struggle to conclude differently from Marty and the Marshall (and those who kept silent on the matter). I have not voted you at all, to my knowledge, in any game I played here. I did however make you one of my numerous early suspects in both the latest encounters we had as villagers. Did that cause it?

I had written up a pm to first the General and later Marty asking for their assistance in how best to make an end to it. I never sent either pm (unfortunately). I concluded it was unlikely to make a difference. Possibly making it worse.

The people here are your friends, much more so than mine. I have no desire to ruin your fun, so I walk away.

A big thanks to GM Wagon for hosting this game and to GM the General for hosting the one before where I never got a chance to make a post-game comment. You both did a splendid job! Please remove my victory and award it to Marty if at all possible.

That was a fun game. I just wish I knew what had happened to the other characters, like Robert. E Lee.... :)
If I had written about all characters the update would have come considerably later.

The people here are your friends, much more so than mine. I have no desire to ruin your fun, so I walk away.
Hopefully you are not leaving.

The entire story including seer parts:

Night 1:
President-Jefferson-Davis.jpg
It is quiet the little town San Jose. There isn't really much in the town, but lately there has been a lot of soldiers who are retreating from the advancing Union army; these soldiers are part of the Arizonan army, who has set up a temporary headquarter in the town. To cheer up morale and because he was in the area Confederate president Jefferson Davis (villager GreatUberGeek) has come to the army headquarters. Unfortunately for him, Unionists in the town have heard of his visit and they have made plans for his assasination. As Jefferson Davis gets out of his carriage he is shot to the head by a sniper on a nearby rooftop. The Arizonan army starts bursting through all the buildings in the town and they manage to corner the little group of Unionists; some of them dies in the ensuing gunfight, whereas others surrender in the hope of mercy. They will be executed by firing squad in the morning. Meanwhile Jefferson Davis dies of his wounds and the whole town starts mourning; the Arizonan army starts to appear on the verge of falling appart, but then Lieutenant Colonel John Baylor - leader of one of the regiments - succeeds to make the army stay together. They will be stronger, but the death of Jefferson Davis must remain a secret, since otherwise the Confederacy could break; a large cover up is therefore prepared. At least Jefferson Davis died a proud Southener who despised the Yanks, their Union troops and their despicable values of equality between slaves and white men.

Seer:
You are tired after having been riding for several days and it is the middle of the night; there is no moon and it is pitch black. You have heard that this part of the Arizona Territory still is relatively free of Union troops, so you will be able to stay here for some time. The Union army is approaching though and you definitely don't want to be caught, since that would mean ended up in a prison camp of more likely in front of a firing squad. As you cross a hill you see a camp where several men have taken rest. You silently and cautiously approach them and to your horror you discover that this is a group of of Union troops lead by Lieutenant Blueberry (wolf Gen. Skobelev). This is one of the last men you want to meet, since he was your commander before you deserted, so you are in no doubt that he probably would recognize you. You wonder what he and a group of Union soldiers do out here, but you really don't have time to think about that now. You are tired and need to get away from here. After riding for around thirty minutes you see a small town. There don't appear to be much more than a saloon, a black smith and some houses, but it will do. You get a room in the saloon although the saloon keeper is a bit grompy about you ariving this late. As you lie in your bed you start thinking about what should be done with Lieutenant Blueberry; on one hand you would like to take revenge and you could probably team up with some gunslingers, since a Lieutenant often carries a not negligible amount of cash. On the other hand it might be safest to do nothing and hope he is on his way to some far away place. Well you are really tired, so a decision on what to do must wait to tomorrow.

Day 1:
As you come into the saloon in the afternoon you notice that someone new has arrived. He claims to be from Missouri and conscripted into the Union army. He has later deserted though, since he sympathises with the Confederate course. He asks you what this small town is called and you answer him: 'Bedbug'. The man from Missouri tells you that his name is Hermann Schwann; you doubt that though, since he doesn't appear German, but the man can have his reasons. Just as you are talking a man with blond hair walks in. Everybody starts looking at him and it is evident that people don't really like him. He walks up to the counter and buys two cigars; afterwards people start shouting: 'Blondie out.' After Blondie has left the saloon people describes to Hr. Schwann how local resident Sean O'Reiley looks like and asks him, if he has seen him. Sean has been missing for a few days and people are worried for him. He took his horse and rode towards San Jose on the fast mountain track shortly after president Davis came by on his way to a nearby army headquarter. Sean had been drinking with president Davis' Irish carriage driver and he had become really intoxicated, so you fear that he lies passed out somewhere---and why would he want to take the fast track to San Jose anyway? If he wanted to meet the president why didn't he then take the same track as the president's carriage, which cannot go over the fast track? By thinking more about it you remember that Sean has been acting strange since the beginning of the wat, although you don't know why. While you stand thinking Hr. Schwann speaks up: 'I was as mentioned conscripted into the Union army, from which I deserted a while ago. I would really like to take revenge on some of my sadistic superiors, so are any of you gunslingers interested on taking a revenge trip? The fellow has some gold.' Nobody seems interested, but suddenly an ugly man named Tuco proclaims that he and his gang would like to help---nobody is surpriced at that, since Tuco is greedy even for gunslingers. Suddenly everybody is interrupted, as Jonah Hex shoots the local priest(villager Arkasas), who he has been playing poker with; it turns out that the priest had aces up his sleeves, which Jonah Hex wouldn't tolerate.

Night 2:

In the middle of the night you hear gunfight from the saloon. That really puzzles you, since there shouldn't be anybody left and the saloon keeper doesn't have much money. Suddenly you hear horses galloping. As morning comes you go to the saloon to investigate what happened. It turns out that Hr. Schwann(seer Nautilu), who had rented a room in the saloon, has been shot during the night; it is also strange that he was shot in the face through a pillow. After some investigation you discover that Hr. Schwann hadn't been completely honest with you: It turns out that his real name is Baker and besides having served in the Union army, he has also served in the Confederate army. Under his bed you find half a map; the other half is missing. You cannot really figure this out, so you decide to leave the town and continue on your journey into the unknown---with the saloon keeper dead there isn't really anything interesting left in the town anyway.

Seer:
You are glad that Tuco decided to help you get revenge on Lieutenant Blueberry. You will start you journey first thing in the morning, but now you need some sleep. After having slept a while you are woken up by noise from outside. You look outside the window and sees a woman talking to what appears to be a Union soldier; as you try to look closer someone knocks on you door though. You open the door and Angel Eyes steps in. He has found out that Bill Carson has joined the third Confederate regiment. Suddenly Angel Eyes pushes you into the bed and tells you that his source offered him a thousand dollars to kill you, before he shot him. Since Angel Eyes is a man of his words he takes a pillow, puts it infront of your face and shoots you. Angel Eyes then leaves the room.
A little later a group of Union soldiers arrive at the saloon. The walk into it and starts shooting everybody they find while they walk towards your room. As they find you dead they go back to their horses and gallops away.

Day 2:
Around half an hour after you left Bedbug you find an abandoned campsite. You deside to rest here, since it appears to be a good spot. As you are resting you suddenly see both Tuco and Angel Eyes ride away from the camp site in two different directions. You think this is strange given how you have just stopped to take a rest, but perhaps they didn't want to rest and had things to do. You also notice that Blondie is riding towards Tuco, but since they have been known to cooperate this isn't so strange.

Tuco and Blondie rides towards the town of HiersterbenSie---population extremely fluctuating. As they approach the town they hear riders approaching and Blondie goes into cover. It turns out to be bounty hunters, who wants to collect the 3.000 $ bounty on Tuco's head. Blondie chases them off, apprehends Tuco and takes him to the sheriff in HiersterbenSie. Blondie gets his reward and Tuco is taken to a makeshift gallow; Blondie rescues him though by shooting the rope, but takes a bit more time to do it than Tuco prefers. After having left HiersterbenSie, Tuco takes out his gun and forces Blondie unto a march through the desert...

Back at the camp you see riders approaching. After some time you see that it is soldiers and since they have grey clothes it must be Confederate soldiers. You start to salute them, but as they get close you see that it was just dust; to your horror you now face a group of Union soldiers led by the merciless and---according to the rumours---sadistic Lieutenant Blueberre(wolf skobie). You hurry onto your horses and start riding away as fast as you can, since such a group you cannot possibly win against. Both groups fire shots at each other and the group of Union soldiers start to pursue the gunslingers. Suddenly you hear a scream from behind and look back. James Smith has hit Lieutenant Blueberry in the head and he tumbles of his horse and dies; the group of Union soldiers stop their pursuit and you get away.

Night 3:
140 years later
Some archaeologists dig in a desert in New Mexico. Nobody has dug here before, because this desert was for long considered almost unpassable and not even the Union and Confederate armies crossed it. Suddenly one if the archaeologists yells that he has found something. After removing a considerable amount of sand they reveal a skeleton: It has blond hair and a big cigar in the mouth---it appears to be a poor soul who thought he could cross the desert, but failed. Nothing more is known about him though and he is taken to a cemetary to be burried properly.(villager Hax didn't survive his trip through the desert)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AApIyQK-vEQ]
Day 3:
As Tuco gets to the outskirts of the desert a carriage is approaching fast. Tuco goes in front of it and has the horses stop. It turns out to be the headquarters of the third Confederate regiment, which appears to have been wiped out. As he looks into the back of the carriage he only sees dead bodies, so he starts to take their valuables. Suddenly one of the bodies start to move. The man is very thirsty and needs water to talk. Tuco gets it and is told that the man is called Bill Carson and he knows where to find a cache of Confederate. He tells Tuco and then dies.

Tuco takes the carriage and drives to the nearby town. In this town he decides to rest for the day and gets a room; he also orders a hooker. As Tuco is sitting in the bath washing he hears somebody coming down the hallway. Tuco takes his gun and hides it under the water; he then waits. A man enters the room and points a gun at Tuco. He wants revenge and he intends to get it by shooting Tuco; Tuco is faster though and shoots the man with the hidden gun. He then hears somebody else approaching. Clearly this villain cannot be alone, so Tuco prepares to shoot whoever enters the door and then flee in case there is too many men after him. The door opens and Tuco empties his revolver into the arrival. It turns out that the villain was alone though. Tuco has just shot the prostitude he ordered. Her name was Emma Watson(wolf the_hdk). It turns out that it was lucky he shot her, since apparently she was a Union spy who lured secrets out of her clients; Tuco being a pig he won't let such a fine girl go to waste, so he uses her and then leaves the town.

Night 4:
As night approaches John Stevens arrives at a valley. He wants to cross it, but it appears that the Union and the Confederate armies continously fights for it. He starts to go down towards the bottom of the valley as a soldier approaches him and asks him, what he is doing there. He says that he wants to join the Union army and he is taken to the commander. This man is tired of fighting over and over the bridge and drinks a lot. Suddenly a new battle starts and the commander rushes down the valley. As the battle stops the commander is brought back deadly wounded. As you have figured out that the only way across the valley is by blowing up the bridge you tell the commander to hold out for just another moment and takes a case of explosives. You plant the explosives on the bridge and detonates. The commander dies blissfully as cannons on both sides starts speaking again. John Stevens dives for cover, but unfortunately for him he is hit by a shell and dies.(villager tonkatoy5 is hunted during the night)

Day 4:
After you fled Lieutenant Blueberry's group a couple of days ago you have been traveling far. Suddenly you see a fort which obviously has been in a battle. It is almost completely destroyed by cannon fire, but you go in to see if it contains anything usefull. As you go in you discover that much of the fort's garrison still resides in it, though most are injured. As you leave the fort you take a man named Vin(villager marty99) takes a Confederate jacket for unknown reasons. As you leave the fort he splits with the group and rides away.

In the fort Vin finally found out which regiment Bill Carson had been part of. It was the third regiment, which is assumed to have been wiped out. Vin takes a chance though, since he really wants the gold. After riding for a considerable time riders appear in the far. Vin puts on the jacket, since they appear to be grey soldiers and he start saluting the Confederacy and president Davis. As the riders reach him he discovers to his horror that these soldiers was Union soldiers with dirty jackets. Vin is taken prisoner and taken to a prison camp.

Night 5:
In the prison camp a roll call starts. Suddenly Bill Carson's name is called and Vin answers in the hope of learning more about the gold. He is taken to the commander's hut and offered something to eat. Music then starts playing outside. The commander offers Vin a cigar, but as Vin reaches out the cigar case is quickly closed around Vin's fingers and a goon starts beatin Vin to a pulp; the prison gurads hadn't been good at stipping Vin of weapons, so Vin takes a hidden knife and stabs the goon to death.(wolf Ithvan) Vin is unlucky though, since there is more goons and as long as the music plays nobody can hear him scream. As the music stops Vin has been beaten to death.

Remember to watch the video. This is a very iconic mexican standoff and it is very much worth watching.

Day 6:
You arrive a a valley where a lot of fighting has taken place. On the entire hillside there is trenches and at the bottom there is a destroyed bridge across a river; on the other side there also is trenches. You cross the valley and soon after you reach a small church. As you enter a man witout a name(villager THE_SPLIT) starts riding away from the other. They find a cannon in front of the church and starts shooting at the man without a name; he gets away though.

Nearby in a cemetary Tuco(villager aedan777) has arrived at the unmarked grave where the gold is burried. He starts digging and as he digs Angel Eyes(villager madchemist) approaches and takes his gun. He the forces Tuco to continue digging at gun point.
Simultaniously a Union marshall(wolf Gen. Marshall) comes riding and sees Tuco desecrate the graves; even though it is enemy graves the marshall won't tolerate this, so he takes his gun and aims for Tuco's head. BANG.

Just as he has Tuco's head in the crosshairs the man without a name arrives and shoots the marshall. He then goes down to the others and they engage in a mexican standoff. After having been in the standoff for a long time both Tuco and the man without a name shoots Angel Eyes, before he can respond. Angel Eyes tumbles into an empty grave and the man without a name forces Tuco to continue digging at gunpoint. After the gold has been excavated he takes a piece of rope, puts the noose around Tuco's head and places Tuco on one of the grave stone crosses. He then takes half of the gold and rides away. At some distance he shoots the rope and Tuco falls down from the cross.
The man without a name rides away.

1. Ithvan was a blatant wolf just from his moves to try and save sko, marshall too if you look back though at the time it was difficult to tell though that final fake snipe sko did really made me get tunnel vision on him. Risky play Sko but a good one.
2. You're are a good player but you're behavior and playstyle here was just weird and imo hurt the village because it spread more confusion and at a point in this game we questioned you're methods you said this,

By painting people's names in red colour I put a gun to their heads, thereby collecting the data we need.

I suggest we spend more time doing that, rather than discuss the methods employed and their validity.

Oy

So surprised you didnt' take that approach with us...

3. I don't remember going after you a few games ago and I usually remember things like that and I dont' see why I'd go after you two games ago though if you wanna refresh my memory you can.
4. I didn't answer you're pm because the pm didn't need an answer, you asked only to say no if we didnt' want you to vote us so I assumed not answering was it's own answer.
5. I'll admit I was full of vinegar this game though I needed to be loud I probably said stuff that was uncalled for so sorry and that we were probably unnecessarily confusing and withholdant of info this game but honestly we didnt' know who the wolves were and you were a possible candidate, a very good one in fact if things had gone differently.

Finally you shouldn't quit, you actually analyze and post which is good but I think you get a head of your self with a bunch of things.

Also GG everyone thanks for hosting Wagon, MVP goes to Split, Very funny Aedan with the whole last wolf thing, and Good job Livingstone/marshall hope you keep playing!

I hope with this game we can finally start putting to rest the idea that organised vote-switches don't work. Their effectiveness in this game was undeniably great.

And no, I didn't get a win, just give it to oyoyoy, we can't just award wins.

Well, thanks for hosting Wagon, good to have gotten a third win(though I don't really deserve it...)

I'm hosting next. Expect the new game to be up in some 30 mins. Just have to decide on a theme...(I'm open to suggestions, but I need something I'll be in the mood to write updates for so...)

Cheers Tonka. Sorry for going all butthurt on ya'll. I owe you an answer, so I'll do my best in quick fashion. I reckon the thread should be left to die by now.

1. I'm sure you're right. I never bothered going back to check on these things properly. It didn't actually matter who I thought to be guilty in the end. Remember your half of the village refused co-operation and openly threatened to kill me. The other half was divided.

you're behavior and playstyle here was just weird and imo hurt the village because it spread more confusion
Day 1 I got drunk. Actually not drunk, more like shitfaced. Bad excuse, but there you have it. Split made a fitting remark upon I quoted having been rewarded Hax' stash. Later on I got locked in a position where I had to support those opposing the PJL or do nothing. Far from ideal, but like I posted above, had communication from the PJL been more concise it would have saved us all a lot of headache. That was what I requested when I asked my "who sent who pm's"-question that made alarm-bells go off. Bad choice of words from me I'm sure, but you gotta understand that from the "outside" there was no obvious PJL at that stage and it was never made clear to us who was targeted. I'm pretty sure I got several death-threats from the PJL even in the hrs before the game ended. I'm not the one to voluntarily lie down and accept getting murdered ;-)

at a point in this game we questioned you're methods you said this,

So surprised you didnt' take that approach with us...
In my defence: we had been discussing my methods at length before I made that post and I got exclusively negative feedback iirc. Isolated that statement does not ring good at all. What it should have said was "Can we please stop discussing my methods now and get on with the game". I would explain them further, but this is not the place and time for it.

As for taking that approach with you (=the PJL), I believe I have been trying to explain (unsuccessfully) for some time now that the PJL was not as obvious from the pov of outsiders as it was for you. Not it's actual existence for a long time (though I probably remained a bit thick-headed on the issue longer than needed) and much less it's goals until the very end. Had you explained what was happening to me I would have gone along with it. That's the missing piece from my missing quote inside your quote above.

3. & 4. Nevermind what happened previous games. Lets just forget about it.

5. And lets move on from this game as well. I've said enough. All in all not my best game, so I'm not gonna make more of it.

I think you get a head of your self with a bunch of things.
Probably right, but I'm guessing you also read more into it than what is meant to be there. Like the green/red names. That is not me pretending I know it all and have solved the mystery. I did something similar on the last day of my first game and that turned out to be quite the brain-fart. Ever since those have been day 2 affairs tho and I never expect them to be anything close to the solution. Early day 2 most normal people (Split excluded) are pretty damn clueless who the baddies are. -So we need to go about finding them and that's what I've been doing. Take this round: I make Marshall green... that provokes a lot of reaction where people disagree (should have made me figure he was more likely bad). I make Marty red'ish and get presented info why that is unlikely. Now you still gotta distil the info, but this way I get the info (as does the entire village btw) that I need, much needed due to being new. Having said that I will likely stop doing my day 2 thing next game. -Too many shootouts with me as the centerpiece.

Anyway, I appreciate the answer Tonka. I like seeing the "new", more active side of you. I'm gonna stop bitchin' now and will wanna join a new game soon. Please vote and accuse me all you like in the future (preferably cause you suspect me ofc). I'll join the game that is up now if you still lack players around deadline. Else I'll take a break for a game before I get back.

Sorry for necromancing the thread folks. I'll shut it now.

Sorry for necromancing the thread folks.
This puzzles me. All over the forum I have noticed that people have started regarding it necromancing if a thread hasn't been posted in for a few hours/a day. Does anybody know why that strange behaviour started?
