It could be a great game, covering the rise of the islamic world.. from the early conquests of Muhammed in the Arabian peninsula, until 632 and onward when major parts of the planet were conquered by the excited muslims..

It could be an interesting variation.. because in this era, the Europeans were just primitive feudal societes.. things started to shift around year 1000, but Europe still had to wait 400 years until things started to happen here..

had it not been for the brave Franks in the west, and the Chinese in the east, the whole world could have been a part of the caliphate by now..

it could be a great game... covering 600 to about 1400(19..)

Hmm, I seriously doubt that such a game could be successful. Face it, Europeans and Americans are more interested in their own history than in the history of Arabia. Almost all computer games with a historical background are fairly focused on Europe (starting with Ancient Rome, medival times, Napoleon, World Wars) or America (Colonialization, ACW, World Wars). Exceptions such as Shogun are rare.

I could help you with Persia and Central Asia from about 1300 onward...a limited scope, I know, but all the same, it'd be one less thing you'd have to focus on. I can make tags and events, though not graphics.

Though of course, the odds of a scenario that begins in the 7th century still having a reasonable accurate portrayal of the world by the 14th is incredibly small, so I dunno how useful I could be.

Well.. if such a game should be made.. It probably had to be an new game. not a EU2-scenario...

because, almost everything would have to be changed...

Don't you think there's a market for games outside of Europe and the US?

Well if you are planning making a 1000 year scenario then count me in I could make graphic and scripting.

Well., I was thinking about a new game. not a new EU2-scenario..

it strikes me that there hasn't been any histoical games covering this part of the world... all paradox-games are Euro-centered.. the "age of empires"-games are also quite Euro-centered...

so I thought it could be interesting.. but I guess Osama bin Laden wouldn't like it very much...

Well, that maybe true.. but Europeans and Americans should learn about others than themselves also..? don't you agree?

and besides.. there are many millions of immigrants in Europa/America... I guess it would suit them ... at least...

Why not make a mod anyway?

Well.. it could be cool.. but as I am a European, non-muslim.. I wouldn't know too much about this would I...?

I suppose some of the muslims in this forum would help though.. I guess they know more about this than we do..?

But if I follow your earlier post..:

new map - definetely.. I guess that a world map would be the best.. as they never reached the Americas and Australia.. it was the dream of Muhammad though.. a map would cover the Middle-East with surrounding areas first and foremost.. but I guess we could add most of Europa, Africa and Asia..

other new graphic - yeah, the muslim cities and troops already in place would be a bit boring.. we would have needed more diversity.. luckily the islamic taste for geometrical patterns would add a great artistic touch to the game..

new scenarios - yes.. of course.. ranging from 600 to... the crusades and onward..? the conquest of Arabia done by Muhammad until about 630... after that the conquests of Middle-East, Nort Africa, Central Asia, Spain, India and later Indonesia..

new religions, yes.. more islamic sects (at least sunni and shia).. Judaism (there were tons of Jews in old Arabia), more Christian sects, like Nestorian, coptic, etc. and not to be forgotten, Zoroastranism.. which was all but wiped out when the muslims took Persia..

new cultures, - of course, Judean, Sabean, Syrian, Samarian, Coptic, Philistines... and varoius Africans which were assimilated by the Arabs..

new ai, yes.. and a smart AI this time..

new nations... yes, some of them exists as hidden revolters.. like Ummayad, Abbassid etc.. and the Crusaders..

and new events. yeah.. much to do here... at least if we want to cover the life of Muhammed.. which got maaany revelations which would suit EU2-eventcommands good...

it could be interesting.. ;)

Hey.. you're serious..

well, we would need to create a nice "alliance"..

I'm studying history this year.. also Ancient and Medieval..

what kind of background do you have..? we would need many skills.. not least making a playable map... the events, countries, leaders etc. would not be so hard...

another thing would be animations... techs. etc.. that would need to be remade...

it seems like a daunting task...

I know about soo much when it comes to coding and programming... sadly...
but some info on history, and idea of desing and gameplay I could help..

of course we could keep the map.. but the terra incognita on the Arabian peninsula and in northern Africa is annoying... what about moving them to Europa in stead..??

but as the current map has far too few provinces in the Middle East... we have to change that..
