They would publish so few DD:s for a certain NEW game based upon the Cold War... while releasing way too many for another game in a successful game series...

I think an EA company is enough, i like Paradox as they are now :)

- Added functionality for players to gain prestige and units by sending tribute to the papal controller
- Changed typo papal -> paypal
That's a terrible idea. Redemption by paying in a game lol

So we should put out more content for free? Do you work for free too?
Or we should include everything in the game already at release, and just release the game two years later?

Well, let's not get started on my wages since I'm an enlisted Airman, so they're awful and I make less than minimum wage.
Let me get this straight: I'm talking mostly about stuff like sprite/music paid DLCs.

Yeah, you should put out more content for free. Did you know that companies used to do that? No? Valve still does, though of late they're getting sillier and sillier with some of their plans (they love FEES.)

It's absurd you should pay for nice looking sprites when they should already be included in the game. Don't you people want your game to look nice, or do you want people to pay extra money for it to look nice?

'If you want your sprites to look nice, you have to pay more.' ; Doesn't that sound awful?

Yeah, the industry is forever heading towards DLC-centric business plans, because of the success of some companies like Actiblizz. If you make most of your money off of the sprites and music, then I'll honestly be surprised.

You do realize that the sprites are generally made after the game has been released? They're fun little packs which you can buy if you want to spice your game up a bit, they're hardly making the original sprites stick man drawings. Sprites aren't required for the game to look nice. Anyway, lets not turn this into a debate about sprites.

If Paradox was evil, they'd make the forum subscription only. You'd also have to buy various subscriptions to various forums, want to see the new EU4 Dev diary? Gotta buy the EU4 Dev Diary pack. Want to see interviews and such? Gotta buy the Interview pack.

They could so totally do that too with the whole game registration system they got on the forums... Would just take a few changes to impliment that.

Register your pre-orders to be able to see the EU4 dev dairies and post in the EU4 forum :p

The only thing they want is money. That's how the industry works nowadays.

i would rather have a game at $40 than 50 or 60 and live without my flashy sprites.

They would have their own DRM software and a habit to discontinue their games after they are no longer profitable. When CK2 wouldn't sell enough, for example, they would pull the plug on it and nobody would be able to play it anymore. Then they have to move on to CK3, which will meet the same fate ~2 years on.

Historical/Flavour events would be DLC

They'd do something like splitting a DLC into parts, so you'd have to pay once for the new Religion/Culture/Race, a second time for that Religion/Culture/Race's music, and a third time for that Religion/Culture/Race's portraits. Thank God this isn't happening, though, right?
