Do we know ?
A little bit:

It will take about a month as, along with bug fixes and improvements, this patch will include a large re-work of the Economy to address much of the feedback you have shared with us in the past months. We’ll share more details on what has changed when the patch is ready.
(Edit: the above quote was from the 1.1.2f1 patch notes of April 25th)
Personally I think it will not be a "re-work" but in most areas a new implementation of what they think should give us the feeling of a working economy.

It may therefore very well break existing saves and (again just my personal opinion) it might not work very well in the beginning. I am expecting some hot fixes to follow soon after.

So buckle up for some rough experience.

Funny, I was chatting with an e-friend tonight about this subject, wondering if it's a good time to buy CS2 stocks? I feel there is an opportunity as it seems to be at its lowest ever!

And, I must admit, I also feel weird about spending more time in this forum than playing the game & I guess I am not alone in this situation... I pray to all human gods and the programming gods that the next patches will make my money worth! Having a good city building game in my life is more important that I want to admit for my overall happiness as a human, lol.

Please, before you reply to this, take a moment to think about; if you were in charge, what would you get the dev team to work on to at least get 20k active daily players... and most importantly, to get you back into spending yourself your Friday night into playing the game?

Yea, when can we expect another patch?

While I can not share the details of the patch right now, as it's still actively being worked on, there is progress being made. The best I can do is echo what @co_avanya said in her comment.

Wondering the same.

Also, I wonder when we can expect them to communicate with us again? If I'm not mistaken, it's been since April 25 since they last gave us any sort of status update

I really hope they fix the issue with climate settings not saving in the editor... I want to be able to play on my map without being blinded by snow... I'm starting to fear that Simo Häyhä might be on map soon :(

Unfortunately the CO staff isn't communicating very frequently anymore..... I am used to game developers on forums interacting with players in their community forums, even if it is taking just 20 minutes out of their day to respond quickly to the most pressing questions/issues..... but CO/Paradox has taken a stance of silence instead. Every so often @co_avanya posts something, but it is getting less frequent.

And that is a shame. Even if it is not the answer we want to hear, interacting with the players is vital for a healthy community. Yes, some players have become very toxic because the release of CS2 was so botched, but going to radio silence isn't the solution.....

As for a patch, they have stated before that they will release one patch a month, at the end of each month (until it is no longer deemed necessary). Typically, they have been releasing patches on Fridays.

There are two more Friday's left in this month, being the 24th and the 31st, so the next patch could drop on either of those days. The next patch after that will be released in late June, probably on the 28th of June.

Since they are talking about a "summer break" (which makes perfect sense), and asset importing is supposed to be released "this summer", it is not out of the question that the 28th of June is the target date for that patch, as it is in summer, and before they take a break and people take their vacations.

Where did they say that? The only thing I've seen from CO is Avanya saying the next patch will be "about a month" from 1.1.2f. Nothing about a monthly cadence.

Why should they communicate? Everyone treats them like garbage. I wouldn't communicate with this community, either.

it would be good if we still got updates, even if the comments were closed. There is still a supportive and interested community keen to hear about progress on the game, it's just the angry anti-fandom minority makes this forum a place where that view can't be voice, it doesn't mean the actual playing-the-game community and fandom don't want updates and to hear the dev's thoughts and process.

That is a good point; in the end, it comes down to the most important thing.
For a business, it is money.

I can guess, but I believe that CO/PDX assumed that CS2 may have had a rough start, but not as it turned out. In CO/PDX's eyes, maybe everything was fine until they released the first DLC. Until then, they could blame and ignore the community for toxic behavior.
The rating and expected sales were a slap in the face. The average player's expectations and what CO delivered were not aligned, which goes far beyond the "toxic" forum. The general issue with the game itself was no longer deniable: Numbers are numbers.

If CO wants to fix it... the main focus is on work and not on talking. It is also a time thing. CO/PDX probably did some math and calculated the point of no return. --> CO/PDX has to deliver the promised content unless they file for bankruptcy.
That is why we most likely get the promised things, but after that... it depends on sales and probably the number of active players.

There is no time for talking.... at least not in the next 6 to 12 months. I do not care of CO is silent if it helps them to fix and improve the game.
I like this series, but fail or success... is not set.

Very true.

Obviously they don't have anything to announce (like some info about progress of the next patch which once was supposed to arrive during the next 2 weeks) and they are receiving treatment based on product quality.
Pouting and blaming the paying customers for not praising them seems exactly the right move.

Each patch progresses at a different pace, some fixes are easier and quick to implement, and others might take more time. I know the team is working on getting the patches to you as soon as they can, and we share news about it when we are able to. At the moment the next patch is in the works, and making good progress, although some work remains.

According to co_avanya in the Way Forward thread, there's no timeframe for the next patch, they have no idea when it's coming, and they simply statee it might be ready before they go on vacation in july. So they will have gone on two vacations since launching the game and before getting it into a 1.0 state, I guess. That's really sad.

I don't understand why they would insist on doing one big patch where "all this stuff we want fixed in this patch" has to be finished before they release anything. An economy rewrite sounds great in theory but if they aren't giving us details on it and we aren't getting patches for anything else, why would we expect it to be any good? They won't tell us anything they're changing, or how, and in the meantime...everything that needs patching still needs patching.

Do they REALLY think people prefer this over smaller patches more often?

I can't believe the economy (industrial taxes) has been broken since december and they might not get around to it until JULY!!!
