Not venting, just saying you don't have any more credibility as a source than any other unknown nickname on social networks when giving some supposed "insider" info. And no, I don't think you're associated with them, which is exactly why everything you can write about the CO/PDX business relationship and the contracts they signed are only some guesses, not facts.

Okay - seems I got caught by the internet police here so let me guide you through the knowledge base I have even without "proof" of my personal backgrounds which are anyway irrelevant:

1. If you read what I told I used words like "usually", "imho", "I think" or I start something with "in my opinion". That's not written by accident, instead it's used as I for sure don't know how the structures internally are set as I can only relate to guidelines which in theory everyone can look up who would be interested (like the agile manifesto, SCRUM guidelines or anything else related to release cycles in software development. You got the keywords - use the search engine you prefer ;) )

2. Also other things I write can be proven easily. Let's take the bold claim that Paradox as a publisher is the one to "blame" for the early release. The Business Owner responsible is Luca Kling (Paradox Interactive employee) → he is responsible for the investments in product creation and long-term return for his organization, also he presents the viability of the product in relation to the customer and the market to his organization.
2 a) where did I get that name from? →
2 b) that's just a claim without proof! A business owner can be anything! → https://scrumdictionary.com/term/business-owner/ (yes, they must not stick to that definition, I know, it could also be someone from the cleaning staff...)

3. Pure logic. Another claim coming from me like "PDX is doing marketing, PO doesn't" (one of my favorites!):
3 a) Who do you see babbling in official Streams? → Maddie, PDX employee and sometimes one of the CO devs joins as a guest
3 b) COs team does not seem to feature PR/marketing people. → https://www.linkedin.com/company/colossalorder/people/ (if someone can come up with some prove that they run marketing on their own feel free to...)
3 c) Ingame credits never get old, close to the end the Paradox section starts:

4. That claim Paradox being the "customer" of CO who paid in advance. Their own written words → "As a publisher, our responsibilities include funding, producing, marketing and selling the games that we publish." https://www.paradoxinteractive.com/our-company/our-business/paradox-as-a-publisher . They funded the game at least since 2019 with money gathered from their investors, list of the largest ones to be found here: https://www.paradoxinteractive.com/investors/ownership-structure

So, I always do my homework before I start telling something, however point 1 in general applies and I never told different ;)

I'd bet they'll wait until the end of that window, to get as much done as possible before their holidays whilst still leaving them a couple of weeks to deal with anything catastrophic first.
If they do that, they won't be able to fix the issues the introduce with the patch, leaving everyone angry and annoyed while they are on vacation :)

It's really shameful to see people doubt other people's work ethic because they take vacations, because their country has a fair working conditions law.

I mean, they have already released a patch immediately before a vacation that broke things and didn't have time to fix the things they broke, and in fact haven't fixed some of those things 7 months later...so it's a little hard to have faith they won't do it again.

It's very difficult to pay for a broken unfinished product and then sit through the people who are meant to be fixing it barely doing anything and going on vacation for 4 months total in the process. By the time a year has passed they'll have only worked 8 out of the 12 months the game's been out and things that were meant to be ready the week of launch (assets) probably still won't be available. That's really, really embarrassing.

These two statements don't contradict each other:
-workers deserve good rights and one of those rights is solid vacation time
-it's really, really embarrassing and frustrating when your contractor dumps all their crap in the driveway they're meant to be paving and says "Be back in two months!"

Yeah, I'm not arguing against the second statement. It's insane to me how they could not put some temporary fix on game breaking things in the simulation right after they got back to work. They are still there, may 2024. Just dumb, idk.
Back to that subject, I think it's disgraceful how many ppl (clearly north americans) on Steam and Reddit trash on decent labour conditions as some kind of privilage or having it soft. Some others are clearly just teenagers.

Sadly I'm not so sure about those people being only north-americans or children. I'm French and despite our country offering decent labour conditions, our own right-wingtards pretty much have the same language every day that passes, especially online. For those stupid, fusty/reactionary people, everyone around is lazy except them. That's ugly times we live in.

Hes the one that said that for the $10 Beach properties you get more than you bargain for (underselling it I believe is the term he used) and on his Twitter implying that criticizers of the game are toxic and lack intelligence with memes. Fantastic.

I really hope City Planner Plays was talked to and listened more, because he is one of the few that actually is balanced in his views and aiming for constructive but proper feedback without blaming everyone for toxicity or being fanboys.

Edit: He’s proceeding to now call people asking respectfully for a summary on an hour long video boneheads. *shrugs*
Oh that's just funny as heck. I tried watching the video after my initial comment... and yeah. An hour long video that could have been summed up in a single page of writing? And now you're saying he's calling people out for not wanting to slog through that tedium? There's a term the Brits use for folks like him... and it doesn't rhyme with "aunt".

Or could just go with "leech".
