Hello,

I would gladly see a DLC either improving the combat, or instead (an in my opinion more exciting) give us mini campaign scenarios, such as the US War of Independence, Italian unification, US Civil War, German unification or the multiple wars that ripped appart the Indian subcontinent at the time. An enlarged campaign map, with a 1789 start, would also be a fantastic addition. That being said, I suspect that March of the Eagles did not met sales expectations, and I doubt we will actually receive any substantial DLC, especially with the already scarce manpower of the studio concentrated on EU IV's release and post-realease content. But we can always hope.

I viewed this game as a test platform for the Clauswitz 2.5 ("3 internally") engine that EUIV is based on. Much the same way Sengoku was a test platform for CK2. It is a fun game in its own right but doesn't really have much depth compared to the 4 major paradox franchises. I played it a bit but soon found myself returning to EU3 or CK2.

Well they promised some DLC in the future. So it's not dead, just pining for the Fjords!

I kind of wish that Paradox would stop releasing these games that are basically Pre-Alphas for other games because everything Paradox makes is so good that I always want to get addicted to everything that they make, and Paradox games that remain in "bug hell" forever (where they stop selling because of the bugs, and the bugs never get corrected because it never sell) break my heart. March of the Eagles is amazing for a glorified terra incognita, but I want it to be polished just because gems like this should *shine*. Sadly, like with EU:Rome and Sengoku, Paradox wasn't brave enough to give this a real whirl (likely because the code would be poorly-commented or something), and so it will never be anything more than a will-'o-the-wisp, a glammer, a ghost of something great.

At least if it sells well Paradox will release a PREALPHA GAME 2. It's actually a genius business model. Like, really, top-notch.

I see your point. I think they probably rely on the Modding communities to take these games forward while the focus moves to the development of AAA titles. Sengoku is a beautiful game and I reckon it's one good update away from being immensely playable. Same for MOTE it's so close to being finished. Hopefully now EUIV is released then there'll be some time for extra love. I know Paradox want to keep their programmers on permanent basis so with the extra revenue that EUIV and CKII must be pulling in it's feasible to keep a permanent staff level. In between major projects we'll hopefully see some love spread to the lesser titles.

I hope they do put more attention to this game, first its awesome, and second its a good started for people who arent fammiliar with grand strategy games.

i already converted 2 friends into playing this, together with another paradox loving fried we can now play nice 4way multiplayers.

its yust that this game needs so much more then it has right now, not complexity but variaty, different scenario's better mods (completed) etc

hope paradox doesnt forget this baby

Why did this game die so fast?
Lack of sales. I suppose the limited scope (Europe) and limited time period (Napoleonic Wars) were not all that appealing. The amount of time (and thus money) they need for a reasonable DLC would be higher than the installed base and average attachment rate would justify. If they are working on one it's probably a low priority. I say this not as an insult to Paradox, but to explain the current situation. I'd suppose over time there will be more sales of MotE and maybe this will justify some DLC, eventually. Perhaps a new DLC could inspire new sales? I don't know. But I'm sure Paradox has a much better idea of whether releasing DLC would encourage enough game sales, given that's their modus operandi. It's aggravating to us fans who think this game could do much more and as paying customers we'd really like them to work toward that. I'm disappointed with the game, but not enough to be mad yet. It's fundamentally fun. I'll give Paradox some time to add somethings to it. Even Vicky1 and EUR had expansions but this feels like Sengoku.

EUIV is raking in the money, so focus on that for a while then move back to beating the dead napoleonic horse which isn't.

So we are planning on an EUIV DLC coming out before Paradox even talk about a DLC for MotE?

Kinda odd that the game didn't sell so good. When it fist came out every one had MOTE avatars, and still to this day I see a lot of people with them still.

In the beginning they stated the game sold pretty well. Guess we'll have to see.
