Will Serbia be a revolter or Start out with one province?

Cheers Hartmann. I'll have the stuff ready tomorrow night. Still no Transylvanian flag though.:(

O.k. I decided to implement both Transylvania and Serbia. :) Sardina will be the goner.

As I want to implement these countries for the next version already, I will maybe have to delay the release a few days until the flags and shields are ready (Jeremy?:))

Ragusa joining Serbia?

I can't see that. In what manner would it remotely be likely that Ragusa would 'join' Serbia as a revolter? To gain Serb aurtocracy over the Ragusans as a substitute to whom?

This opens up problems unless Ragusa is also allowed to rebel within the 'Serb Federation'. Recall tha Ragusa, despite its very small size and limited resources was ultimately successful in maintaining self-rule from Byzantines, Serbs, Venetians, Hungarians, and Turks for nearly a milennium (minus that 200+ year period of Venetian rule).

On the other hand (to play devil's advocate with myself), as Ragusa was never conquered, we don't know how big a fight they would have put up to break away.

[devil's advocate program terminated]

Yet, Ragusa was among the nations to retain it's independence through this period and there ought to be some 'intertia' built in the game to emulate this just as their is intertia in the form of rebellions triggered by incompatible religions. Is it possible to make Ragusa a 'defiant rebel'?

I'm probably very, very much in the minority (probably a minority of one!) but I'd argue for using the tag to represent the third major SEAsian nation aside from Dai Viet (Vietnam) and Ayutthaya (Thailand). That is Burma.

I've only gone through a couple of IGC games and I hope to someday soon actually sit and playtest both countries as well as write up AAR's for both (yeah, I can hope -- already my game as Russia has taken up an entire week. I can't help it, I'm a micromanager) but it would be neat to fill out that theater. As it stands, its very active, but also sometimes strange (alliances between China, Vietnam and Thailand, etc.) Also a third kingdom would expand the diplomatic options available to the Euro colonizers (e.g. ally with Burma vs. Thailand or Vietnam vs. China, etc.)

Also the peacock flag is very neat. http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/mm-old.html#peacock

But it seems people would prefer another Euro minor -- also, isn't it true that you can't put a Euro tag elsewhere, but must be in Europe? (e.g. you can move CYR and MAH to SEAsia, but not say HEL or VEN)

I should provide some better random leader names for you for both states sometime as well, but probably not soon. :(

One thing I did notice in a quick game: Ayutthaya's navies are trapped in Phuket and the Malay peninsula because the initial 'known world' to them doesn't include the sea areas west of the isthmus of Kra. Actually, I'd prefer if the known world for East Asia extends to the current border of Burma with India (i.e. the province of Chin, which should not be swamp as it is now but either mountain or forest).

I will not eliminate Ragusa. Listing this province (also representing partly 'Montenegro') with the Serbian provinces 'to maybe join' would not lead to Serbia getting Ragusa if it´s still there. But Serbia could get the Ragusa province in case it is occupied by the same country occupying Serbia when it rebels. And indeed, Ragusa could then always rebel within Serbia later.

Gotcha Mr. H, right on.

This would work out fine indeed.

I just want to reiterate my support for getting rid of the Royalists as opposed to Sardinia or any other actual country. It makes no sense for the factions of the English Civil War to be represented as separate nations and this serves only to further weaken an already troubled England.

Hello Hartmann. The Serbia and Transylvania zips are ready. :) I made a temporary flag for Transylvania, so it wont delay the release of the new IGC. The new Balkan set-up looks very interesting.

And Dipo... A very cool peacock. Just had to make a test Burma shield.:)

Again a post of mine vanished due to quoting....

Anyway in short ;) the content was:

1.) Great work, Jeremy! :)
2.) Big Thanx, Jeremy! :) :)
3.) Would You also make a Mexican set for me? :):):):D

Btw. I already had Transylvania emerging in my last testgame and they managed to stay there for 25 years. This game was a great game with Turkey annexing the whole of Hungary. :)

That is one GREAT sombrero.

LOL!

If I get a vote the sombrero should stay (pleaaaze, Hartmann?) - very funny and gorgeous art. Maybe in this day and age though the mexican should wear a ski-mask and the furst rulers of Mexico should have the title sub-commandante?
