XP System Restore corrupted my EU2 directory apparently

I was infected with a plethora of spyware (Don't ever let small children use the computer...) and was forced to system restore to an earlier date. Upon restarting the computer I discovered EU2 would no longer run.

I can't reinstall seeing as how I have lost the disk

Well your restore is clearly corrupt. It's hard to see what we can possibly do to help you, you absolutely must uninstall and then re-install from scratch then apply 1.09.

You'll need to either find your lost disk, or buy a new copy - they're going fairly cheaply online or on eBay - I see one going for $AU4 right now on the Australian eBay site, for instance.

Funny that restore would do that, unless your registry contained other info than what Paradox puts in, maybe some copy protection issues.
Another example of why we need to keep our CDs organized and safe.

Oh damn, are you telling me the EU2 to Vic patch could have caused this?

EU2 to Vic patch puts "other info than what Paradox puts in" in EU2 base directory.

I went ahead and did the 1.9 patch, and now the game runs fine : /
