- Will FEs start with Ascension Perks unlocked?

- Will other empires react to your choices of Ascension Perks (e.g. Spiritualists being horrified by synthetic evolution)?

- Will the AI personalities have different "endgames", or will the AI just pick any Ascension Perk that is available when a slot unlocks?

- Can we replace Ascension Perks (e.g. removing the anti-FE perk if they have all been defeated)?

Ok, now I have only one question: How soon can we expect Banks to arrive?

I can foresee the best strategy being rush Galactic contender, smash fallen empires before they awake, hoover up late game techs and then have a nice 100-200 years dominance before the end game crisis turn up.

Will we be able to redesign our species completely using the new biological path? Meaning, if I already got a trait, can I change it?

It's a while away, that's all I can say right now.
Nooooo...
It contains so much cool stuff which, if it is half as good as the previews imply, would be a game on its own.

Can't we get an early wip beta? You can even make it a complaint-free zone.

I am really excited for the perks and traditions. Currently ethics management with non-individualists/collectivists is more of a chore than fun.

Each time you complete a Tradition tree, you will unlock one Ascension Perk slot, of which there are 8 in total. There may also be other ways to unlock slots, such as from certain rare technologies or as a reward for a particular event chain.
I got a bad feeling about this...
BTW - You say, Wiz, that this Unity points will be from ethic specific buildings to. So my un-answered question is still the same -> You do remember that some ethos have only empire-unique buildings, that must first be researched?

And, from my point o view - this should be from start.
Stelaris is "empty", without unique mechanic, bare-bones beta. And now, with every pay feature, we will get that "spice", that should be from start.

Hmm... Option 3 is so nice, it's good SF. but i wanna more option
1. Self-destriction of species - so nice and archeologist is founding former galaxy species (existing event remember?)
2. going to Pre FTL version - yeah, foundation's first galaxy empire => yeah, new game again!

Very cool stuff.
The only thing that's slightly disappointing is:
Finally there are the three 'Species Endgame' paths: The biological path, the spiritual path and the synthetic path. These three paths each consist of two perks, the first of which unlocks access to the second once a number of other pre-requisites have been met. The paths are mutually exclusive, and once you start heading down one of them, the other two are locked off.
So gene-modded single-consciousness for collectivists (yeah, i know they aren't collectivists anymore) is impossible. Mixing two different trees could be fun.

The Biological Path focuses on mastery over biological evolution. The first level of it gives access to more gene points and significantly cuts the cost of genemodding projects, while the second level expands the options available during genemodding in addition to further providing more points and less cost.

Does this mean that there will be new species traits available? Possibly only to empires that have gone down the biological path?

Will the endgame perks choice increase the chances for an endgame crisis to appear? Such as the picking the Psionic Path leading to a greater chance for the Unbidden etc.?

if we cant build orbitals or ringworlds, this update doesnt deserve the name "Banks" (may he rest in peace)

I wonder if somehow the Mind/organic relation from the culture can be implemented...
