I very liked (laughed:rofl:) about the most important improvement said in such a serious tone.

I must breed the big-nose family! The Noses shall rule the world!

To each his own. I guess the devs underestimate the big nose fetish that some of my comrades have. :D

I am interested in how the faces of my Castilian lords and ladies will reflect their Visigothic and Berber ancestors after a few generations of intermarriage. IIRC there will be different face sets for Europeans and other "races" (I don't mean to start a debate on race here btw), so I thought I'd ask the question.

Really liking what I see.

Two things bother me though:

Saxon King of England with Anglo-Norman three lions.

The on-map baroque style "fat lady" shields. They look like something out of the 17th century not the 11th!

No more big noses?? :(

Good dev. diary ... certainly sounds awesome that specific characters can be scripted to look like the historical person.

Well...there was an Old Vick DLC for vicky 2 that changed the interface to resemble the vicky 1 one. Maybe they should release a "CK 1 style noses" DLC, it would make a killing if the response in this thread is an indicator:D

Is skin colour going to be a part of DNA this time?

If not will it be possible for modders to add another DNA "module" (not sure what to call it)

Also, will portraits continue to age after death?

that is a good question, i would like to ask it too so its double asked

also do all kids look the same?

Well, the good thing is: you can start to breed a dynasty of big noses. Who cares about the stats or the status of the wife, as long as she has a real big nose. ;)

If you look at the screen capture of the Doukas family tree at the top of the "Baroque "Fat Lady" on-map shields." thread it looks to me like

1. The portrait of the emperor's deceased great-grandfather looks younger than the portraits of either the father or the the grandfather, so I suspect that portraits probably stop aging at death.
2. The emperor's daughters have identical portraits, and the younger sons also look identical to each other. The oldest son is distinct however. This certainly sounds like children below a certain age have placeholder male and female portraits, but the oldest son has crossed the threshold to an age where portraits begin to be distinctive.
