GC '36 Game started as Germany: now in mid-May 1937, everything is great in europe...BUT if you load up as JAP you see what's wrong.
Small wonder everyone tells, they have no chance vs. Nat.China
Jap Ground forces are just: 25 Inf & 6 Cav + 31 Gar --> this is not quite an invasion force (and it's already 1-2 month before marco polo bridge incident)
Fine they build 7 CV, 3 LCV, 1 BB, 1 Nav Bomber, 1 Tac, 1 HvySub BUT not one single Ground unit??? they are not going to use their navy for 4-5 years!

What happened to the build scheme of JAP?
I guess in 1936-1938 they should build up a ground force to get china down. afterwords they could switch to naval.

I shall check out japan to day! Do japan now build mountaineers at all? kane279 31 garrison is a bit to much.
Japan need some mending.

*Tested a game hand of game with Switzerland and played to 1940 January japan made very little progress build less than 86 offensive divisions. Japan build several marines but no mountaineers. It dint not even research first basic level of the mountaineer.

I have got an modding question, in the new patch 1.6 it will be enable start game before 1936 year ?

If your question is will we get an earlier starting date before 36 in patch 1.6 I would be very surprised if that happened. It think it will only happened if a moder will modifies it.
 
i got a ctd when denmark event. i play as Nat.CHI
i can only remember the events are: denmark went over stand down....
denmark left the alliance of xxx and xxx and xxx
maybe it's denmark surrender becoz germany declare war to denmark and norway moment ago
i can't reproduce becoz i didn't save game.

I and my friends we try make a mod and start game in 1933 and in the patch 1.04 everything was ok but with patch 1.05 is impassible to start before 1936.
 
Why do airports and infrastructure suddenly cost 1 MP? They cost zero in 1.04. Also, why were the cost of convoys and escorts changed? I prefer the 1.04 settings. IIRC the original settings in AoD were the same as in HOI2DDArma so they were not a "bug" and I am wondering why the got "fixed" in an AoD patch. I vote for changing them back.

edit - Raising the IC cost of infrastructure from 1 to 2 is okay though.

Question A: Say I attack and occupy an infrastructure level 80 province, but the retreating enemy uses scorched earth and reduces the infrastructure level to zero. Would I need to spend 8 MP to bring the infrastructure back to its full strength again?


Question B: If infrastructure repair does indeed require manpower (and I do not know whether it does; see question above) then wouldn't this violate Paradox policy about modeling civilian deaths in air bombing raids?

you will find the save game named japan36- the other save is a corrupted file. It became corrupted because the game crashed when I tried to save a game.

Hi,

i played a game up to 45 as USSR and i noticed a few Problems/Oddities.

I held passively against Germany until 44, somewhere in 42 they ran out of Rares and since then they where unable to even replenish losses (from their own attacks mind you, i played passively).
In Jan 44 they had 2k+ MP but 0 Rares and could only use between 100 and 200 IC, they also build 0 Synthetic-Plants.
A bit sad considering they were able to field 20+ Arm against me in 41 and in late 40 they even managed to conquer London for about a week until the British kicked them off the Island again.

In Oct 45 i decided to take a look around and while most countrys had reasonable Army/Navy/Air-Forces a few things stood out.
Norway (which was never attacked) has build 60 Destroyer and 25 Light Cruisers. I understand that MP is an issue but why not build atleast a few Heavy Cruisers ?
USA...well they are a bit crazy:
Navy: 198 Units 23 CVs and 47 TPs, rather nice imho.
Air: 160! Units including 47 Transports...27 Fighters, 28 Interceptors, 31 Strat.Bombers and 27 Tactical Bombers.
Army:50 Units 10 Paratropers rest a mix of Inf, Arm, Mech and Marines, they are trying to build more but are completely out of MP.
They lost around 15-20 TPs against Japan and im assuming they took heavy losses because of that.

Also they stopped research on Infantry once they reached Inf 41 which is probably intended but they also never researched Interceptor III or above but did build quite a few of them.
Oh and they are building even more Transport Planes.

We are working on the balance right now.
Most of the majors now have new build and research files, japan is the current country to get some love...
the vanilla scripts where a bit too complicated, so the AI kept switching between major AI states, making it rather indecisive.
Auto leader placement also only attaches General or higher to HQs.
I have send the bug reports to Radu.
 
How randomly adding 1000 MP to Germany with no reason is "balance"?! :wacko:

Especially when the change was made without documentation. It makes it quite hard to update Mods to be compatible with 1.06 when these sort of changes are occurring behind the scenes.
