Make them cheaper, sure, but bring their crew down to, id say 8, seem reasonable. These things should NOT be pushed INTENTIONALLY into direct combat, and they MOST DEFINITELY should not survive multiple bombing runs.
Remove the obvious tracer effect, make it so finding the 88 is the challenge, but once spotted it should die easilyAbsolutely not. They move a mile an hour and are artillery/bomber bait in the waiting. They need it for survivability.
It already does die easy. You want to make it die easier.Remove the obvious tracer effect, make it so finding the 88 is the challenge, but once spotted it should die easily

why would you take 88s?
How many bombing runs survived it that it´s such a big deal for you?
I rely more on armored vehicles now because of skill-less arty and air spam. Seen so many 88´s got artyed and bombed away without being able to do anything that I try to find better working solutions.
Give the Brits 3.7" AA.
Only in off-board battery mode...Genuinely game-breaking potential.
Eh. I've wondered if 12 HP was too much on occasion- I definitely don't agree with the haters here than the 88mm is weak- but I've stepped up my on-board howitzer game and now I'm not so sure about that. They're a big pain to kill, but you can render them pretty ineffective by suppressing them and forcing them to re-locate, while still having time to take shots at other stuff between harassing them.
I have found that 88's simply cannot keep up with air heavy decks like the 101st. It just gets to a point where their reload rate cannot suppress planes quickly enough to avoid being bombed.
