Wow, this is almost full already.

I'll probably include plot cards. If I do so, expect the original post to get updated. I'll use This Color to indicate where the rules have changed. I'll request that everyone reread the rules at that time.

Expect the sign-ups to end Monday, as we should get a 10th player by that time, with the rate we've been filling up, and players' roles will be handed out at that time.

Sign ups are closed, roles are going out. Looking forward to a fun game, all!

Woot Woot!

We'll go ahead and start with Mission 1, with the sign up order jumbled into our new leader order:

Mission 1, Round 1, 5 Rejected Missions to Go:

The first leader is
tamius23. She has two plot cards to hand out, first, however:

Passionate Speech - The Player who receives this Card may keep it and use it later to have his vote for a Team proposal count double. The use of this Card must be declared publically during a vote cycle.

Open Up - The Player who receives this card must immediately choose one other player. The allegiance of the player who received this card will be revealed to the chosen player.

@tamius23 must then choose a team of three of which to create a mission group out of. One sabotage will fail this mission. Remember: plot cards cannot be given to oneself.

lol, it's fine. I think most everyone here has been prepared for this game to start. ;)

It's been what... 2 years since the last resistance game (I think I hosted it iirc)

Yeah, we're all eager lol

Edit: My bad, it's been 2 years for me, since the last game I was in was resistance 60

The game I was was Resistance 59, MS13

Oh, we're doing the colored names thing? :D I love it but advance warning it can be a real pain for the GM

As for the plot cards, I think Tamius should open up to someone and wait for the answer before giving out the second plot card. If that person says that Tamius is a resistance member then the two of them will form a sort of "trust chain" and I wouldn't mind the other person receiving the speech card also.

Obviously I would like to volunteer as the person to be opened up to, but I have no real argument other than I know I'm resistance which I know doesn't count for much. I guess I'm eager? It's really unhelpful when the people in the center of the action/people with the most info don't talk a lot and their advantages end up being lost to the resistance

That requires that person to pick Tam to learn about.

Oh, gahh, it's been too long, I've made a mistake

I confused open up with Establish Confidence

1 Establish Confidence - The Player who receives this card will have the current Leader's allegiance revealed to him

Open Up means the person who receives the card has their identity revealed, to a person of their choosing. They don't learn about any one.

I would still like to request the card, as while on the one hand you might hope that it would fall to a spy so you can identify them on the other hand having a team of goodies who trust each other is very useful, and I'd like to start building that. I'll open up to whoever Tamius or the thread wants me to (it is generally a bad idea to let the person who received Open Up decide who they want to open up to as they would likely just pick a spymate)

The first leader is tamius23. He

I'm inclined to give both cards to the same player. As we are nine, Passionate Speech can't be used to force an approval of a team, only a rejection. So I think it makes sense to have as much information on the person we give it to as we can.

Am also inclined to give the cards to Jeray, since by default he would be giving the cards out next round. And have him open up to me (because I'm trustworthy :D)

Thoughts? I'll not wait too long on this because I guess it's getting late in the west.

Corrected. My bad.

Sounds good to me:D

I mean, besides the usual bantering about who is "trustworthy" at this stage, giving both cards at the same time seems sub-optimal. What if you get a spy result from the open up? Then you've given a useful card to a spy.
