I just used the counter strip from edge of darkness. This seems to fix the problem.
I haven't seen all units yet, there might be wrong graphics for some types, but it looks fine as far I've seen it.
Thanks. Seems to work.

Hey @Pasha would you mind uploading the latest version of the Cold War Tech Tree project that you have for The Grand Campaign?

Here it is. Pay no attention to the name of the file, this is the latest one I provided to @ejwith9953

I wish you happy modding. Always good to see new material here.
I had an idea. So sometimes a player or AI goes ahistorical and gets too strong. How about a predictable ww2 with unpredictable factions?
I mean for example Soviet Union gets too strong. An event in lets say every 15 years checks the IC number of nations. If it is too high, than the major nations would have an event about searching for allies. The ideologically close nations than would have a high (80%) chance of accepting and in 1-2 years they would declare war on that nation.
So a far right Great Britain, France and Spain would declare war on the Soviet Union, or a democratic Russia, Germany, Italy would declare war on a communist USA etc.

Played this for a while now, and I'm loving it. There was a small problem, that the United Baltic Duchy was called "Unknown String..." but I looked at the file where the country names are, and the section where U37 (I think?) was supposed to be was blank. An easy fix.

Anyone else run into not having sound or music after deleting their old TGC mod file, installing the latest version on the OP? Sound and music will not produce with or without hot fix 1. Sound and music for the default DH full and lite version work fine. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Good Evening,

I have a question for this mod: when outbreak WW1 in August 1914, not have event mobilization (event ID 1350007 --- "Mobilize?").
Hence does the same problem happen to you?

Thanks a you.

No, but it was annoying that all commanders died in 1960 except, in West Germany's case, some guy named Conrad.
I did a test and changed the death/retirement dates of Argentina's generals, ministers, and tech teams who have death/retirement dates in 1960/1964 to 1999. It seemed to work for the generals/admirals but didn't seem to affect the ministers for some reason. I have no idea if it will save the tech teams either. Anyone know why the Tech Teams remain unchanged?

In theory it should work for ministers, too. Are you sure they have not been removed due to an event?

So I didn't test it by playing past 1960, but when I hover over the ministers I changed, their retirement date in the tool tip remains "1960" or "1964" even though I changed the date in the minister file. The retirement dates for the leaders does appear updated though. I also didn't change any retirement dates before 1964 because I didn't want to upset any of the events or historical deaths.

I really just wanted to test it out for @Panzergruppe above as a quick solution using the find and replace function in notepad.

Using v2 with hotfix 1, and playing Japan, I cannot seem to end up with the historical Pacific possessions, unless I use the acceptall cheat and make a separate peace. Also, as reported by others above, the Central Powers seem to roll over Russia much harder than usual, and war is generally over somewhere in 1916. The one exception I found was when Germany declared war on the Extended Schliessen nations, as well as Switzerland, and France invaded through the Jura when Italy was still neutral. Still a very quick war, but for once not CP favoured.

Follow-up, in a new game with the same version. This time, the German war machine turned west. I was playing Italy, and even though I occupied Vienna, Bavaria and much of traditional Yugoslavia, France surrendered in October '15 (everything down to Lyon had been conquered). Russia / the Soviets followed in Feb '16, with the battle lines around the Ural mountains at the time. With the UK striking a peace agreement, Italy was forced to comply (I had no event with a choice come up), and was down to pre-war borders.

Those forced treaties have been a curse on TGC for many many years. The China-Japan forced treaties are even worse. So when playing as Japan, I don't touch China until the mid-1930s. I'm pretty sure EJ will or is addressing them in some way.

If I remember correctly the forced treaties and control events were in the mod since the beginning to get the game to go in a “historical” path during the interwar era. (The Sino-Japanese treaties are to get the Shandong Concession issue, invasion of Manchuria and the Taunguu Truce all of which occur prior to 1933 to fire historically)

I found an additional problem with the forced treaties. Since the Great War ends so early, you can have the USA join the Allies *after* the war is over (in 1917), and then stay allied, all the while exchanging research with the UK, France and so forth. Not sure yet how long that will last, but it seems... unintentional.

Edit: the USA ended up leaving the Allies ("Entente") in July, 1917. Still a weird situation, but at least it didn't last more than a few months.

Anyone here know how to fix the unit counters from being bright pink? It is getting annoying to look at as I play.
See post # 60, you´ll find the file there:

Played for the Ottoman Empire. I noticed a very strange behavior of the troops. Ai is not trying to somehow cover the front, as a result, France is losing the First World War and Italy is winning.
