I usually keep out of commenting mod threads but since half my steam DH hours come from TGC i would like to suggest some changes to some existing events that happen to make some games a little bit less enjoyable.

-Spains El Desastre event (13301400): I do get the psychological shock the decline of an empire signifies and the 20 dissent conveys that enough, thing is...Spain already starts off with roughly 28-30 dissent so it gets the Spain Player up to 48 dissent just at the first months of gameplay. Spains IC isnt the best thing around and it becomes less manageable with this. I highly suggest lowering the starting dissent to 5 so that when you get the event you get a decent amount of dissent(25) to convey the bad shape of the Spanish Kingdom but keep it playable.

-Now this one is tricky because i dont know if you can modify it (never tried): I tried out the 1945 and 1950 starts, i get they are from NWO and are still under testing.I played with Argentina(1945) and West Germany(1950) and to my surprise two IC debuffs appeared, that one postwar IC production triggered by event and the "peacetime" modifier. I think this kind of undermines the overall theme of TGC which is constant development throughout the years, at least thats the appeal of the mod in my eyes. I dont suggest removing them because i think they arent bad per se but are indeed harmful to the overall experience as they stand now, what i do suggest is nerfing the peacetime one and instructing the Postwar IC only to fire on parts of the world where the war actually hit if possible(lots of work, i think) or outright nerfing it as well.

-Forced Peace Treaties, the inevitable ones, are as many think in dire need of reworking.

-Naval Forcelimit Events(The one that demand you convert ships over the limit into Convoys or outright scrap them) should be heavily restricted, either by making them AI only or, my preferred one, giving us the chance to permanently defying them...making relations with the leading powers worse(Depending on the type of ship exceeding the limit). The choice to screw things up looks better than a gun to my head politely asking me to scrap my beautifully constructed ships:mad:.

I played as Germany in WW1, and managed to beat the Russians while also sending Lenin home. For some reason, Russia was transformed into the SU, but before the treaty of Brest-Litovsk is triggered, the Alexander Palace treaty pops up. I agree, but since the Russian tag no longer exists, I get nothing. I ended up forcing the BL treaty by typing in the event, but is there a big difference between the two?

For posterity: It's the exact same outcome.

Happy to see this mod has returned, defnitely gives me a reason to get back into DH after my disappointment with NSB for HOI IV.

I often edit the files of this mod while playing, just to keep on the historical accuracy. But one problem I have is China. I just don't know who needs to win in all that mess to get to vanilla 1933. with Nationalist China and Communist China, and all the other warlords. In my current game, Constitutional Protection Movement conquered ALL of China by 1924. What went wrong?

I won WW1 as Germany and then decided to invade China, taking the Northern half. However, an event some year after forcefully took everything and gave it to Nationalist China. So yeah, Chinese events are a mess.

Is this an expanded tech tree into the 21st century? And should I overwrite the files from my QSGT I just downloaded?
It's already included in the EJ's mod so no need to install it. That post you referenced was me giving it to EJ so he could include it in the mod.

download it on one of the links get breezip or something to extract the folder go to your folder c files x86 steam steam steam aps common then go to your darkest hour came and your gonna take that file have it on your desktop copy it or cut it after that you just take it put it in the darkest hour mod folder and you might want to copy the darkest hour full save game file so you can save your game

How does one extract the counter strip from Edge of Darkness and copy it to this mod?
Hope I don´t mix things up:

Go to Games\DH 1_05\Mods\EoD 2.3\gfx\map

Copy hoi_counter_strip.bmp

Go to Games\DH 1_05\Mods\The Grand Campaign\gfx\map and insert (replace the existing file)

The names or locations of your directory may vary.

Are the necesarry events there for a WW2 to develop if germany wins WW1? If not how difficult would it be to have some sort of "peace with honor" by events and keep imperial germany but have the WW2 events unfold? Of course i would have to write some other starter than Danzig for 1939 i can do that on my own but i am not too familiar with all the events in tgc thats why i am asking.

Hey guys
Whenever I try to play in 1914 scenario, the soviet AI belligerence sky rockets to hundreds and France/Japan declare war on soviets.... is there any way to stop this and go the historical route?

Many thanks!
