The Troops (thirty-two Battalions of Space Marines plus ten HQs and three STO) and their transport (nine Tugs and nine Lizard II drop pod racks) are all ready.

They can't enter Lalande 21185 until the Gate Constructor finishes building this end of the gate.

In the meantime, we're building up a stockpile of Penetrators.

Operation Trumpet Storm?

This one right here wins the contest ;)

Quite an army. Especially considering it's an experimental drop.

I have no idea whether there will be an opposing army or not, after we knock out the STO.

Might as well hit them hard... go big, or go home!

We've laid down four Provocateurs, and are now retooling for that stealthy Explorer.

Wagonlitz just refuses to die. He's 78, and just finished another research project.

The Power and Propulsion research into Capacitor Recharge Rate 8 is another big one. Faster Laser recharge.

We are now researching new Laser models, to take full advantage of the recent advance in capacitor recharge rate.

We can now have Lasers up to 30cm aperture that fire one shot every 15 seconds. Used to be one shot every 25 seconds. Damage 24 at point blank.

EDIT:

The Sabre's 25cm Spinal Laser with the new capacitor will fire every odd increment... once every ten seconds. Damage 16 at point blank.

Once down as low as 40,000, our spare parts inventory has rebounded to nearly a quarter of a million.

I've started once again storing the excess facilities on the moon.

A new level of Engine tech!

We could either use this to make our Fighters even faster (by about 25-30%)... or instead we could design Fighter engines that deliver exactly the same performance as our current Fighter engines (120 EP), but are about 20% more compact. This would allow us to make our Fighters 20 tons lighter, with a corresponding small increase in speed, maneuverability, RADAR cross-section, stealth, the number that will fit in a hangar, etc.

The new level of engine technology also enables better fighters and better missiles, of course. Yeeesh.

I think we'll leave that until after we've whacked the Goons.

Two more months until the Gate into Lalande 21185 is finished.

OK, I might have gone a bit overboard with the fuel tanks on the next-gen Gate II Construction Ship.

The 1000 AU trip out to Minerva (126 billion km away) doesn't even use up 10% of the ship's fuel.
Better safe than sorry

I would say go faster this time

Basically everything that isn't a space station or ground unit.
I'd start off with the commercial engines honestly, enable the civvies to build better freighters and whatnot.

Some day, I too, shall research a thing!

Wouldn't be suprised if you already did but Emu simply didn't mention it.
As I said before, the micro is crazy, not every tech advance is worth mentioning.

You've completed a few projects lately in the Energy Weapons field, because our Power and Propulsion scientist finished a new Capacitor Recharge Rate theory tech, enabling us to re-research each of our main energy weapons (such as our Point Defense Lasers, or the 25 cm Spinal Laser that the Sabres are built around).

Re-doing all of those Laser weapons to include the more advanced Capacitor tech boosts our rate-of-fire by about one-third... for example, in the case of the Sabre's main armament, it speeds it up from one shot every 15 seconds (four shots per minute) to one shot every ten seconds (six shots per minute).

This 33%-to-50% increase in rate-of-fire can be HUGE, in a close fight.

You'll be at that for another year or two, because despite the low research point cost of Practicals there are several of them... and then we need to re-do the turrets as well, to include the new model of Laser.

As Randakar points out, a few projects of various sorts finish every month and I don't always announce them all.
