You said the crash happened when the CPU hit 80c. That is exactly the temp at which my experience tells me problems like this happen.

The Intel CPU issues do affect this game greatly, and older games like HOI4 much less. Quite why is beyond me but that is what I see.

I again urge you to check for a bios update, which I have personally seen has helped many people with this problem. If you don't want to do that, well, I'm out of ideas for you. I did read yesterday that MS are preparing yet another patch to address the 24H2 problems, so be sure to apply that when it arrives.
You're confusing me with someone else because I never said my game crashes at 80c.

Sorry then - this is one of the problems I have with these compendium threads, with multiple issues discussed by multiple users, interwoven! Always best for each affected user to have their own thread.

Hi Andrew, this fix has not worked for my situation.
Hmmm. What exactly are your symptoms then? Random crashes, PC hanging or freezing, something else?

I have the same problem and it's not surprising that the people who have the problem (including me) have Windows 11 24H2 in common :) Someone wrote that switching to Vulkan solved the problem, so I'm going to try that and if I don't have problems for a long time I'll report it here.

Yes, exactly what you guys are saying. the whole computer just freezes without allowing me to alt tab or ctrl alt delete. Only way to resolve this is to restart machine. And when i get into the machine again there are not Blue screen logs because technically it didn't blue screen.

Okay, that is exactly the 24H2 issue, not the gen 14 Intel CPU error. I'm surprised neither the Nvidia driver or Windows updates or this
helped at all.

Other things that some users have helped

If none of them helps either, I don't know anything else to suggest I am sorry. Why your case is different to others who were helped by those steps I do not know!

I had the exact same issue Phuizour_ has.
weird thing is i can still move my mouse but it acts drunk... until i press ctrl alt delete then my mouse freezes too.

Switching to Vulkan did fix it for me. so that might be something to look into
i have an nvidia graphics card so i do not really understand why vulkan would work and dx11 crashes

This also happens to me regarding the mouse being drunk. Vulkan has also fixed the crashing. Possible Nvidia driver

Could be. but i have had this problem for a while now and there have been a lot of nvidia driver updates in that time period.
i'm not a programmer so i cannot comment on what the problem might be. i can just share my observations.

Since this is starting to affect a lot of people if anyone needs help troubleshooting this specific issue feel free to add me on Steam and i will try my best to assist. (no guarantees tho I just realized a lot of people maybe paying for computer technicians to assist them when in actual fact there is nothing wrong with there PC)

My steam profile is in my profile or just search my username Phuizour.

Hey Andrew, So I have a few guys I am helping over Steam with these issues and funnily enough I have the debug logs. I went through them and found a piece of code being referenced constantly. As in spitting out this error constantly. Can I please ask you to get the developers input on what this code means?

Code:
[D][pdx_data_statementparser.cpp:237]: Unexpected characters found at end of Statement 'VariableSystem.Set( 'activity_locale_view', ViewVariable ))': ')'

Code:
[D][systemsettings.cpp:327]: "default_settings_v1_file" is not defined in path.settings. Default "pdx_default_settings.json" will be used.

From what I can tell It seems like our settings files aren't correct or something. If more people can add me i'll see if this is what's affecting other people.

Thanks to @DestinyCalls for assisting in this matter as well.

As an external support contractor I don't have any way of directly asking the Paradox devs about this, I am sorry! Best to post in Bug Reports I'd say.

But, are you connecting this to your PC hanging issue? That is, do you feel this error occurs just before the freeze each time, something like that?
