Development is mostly bs and the devs yet have to explain what exactly it represents and how it is calculated. My impression is that they designed it around gameplay, much less around historic reality. Sarai should most definetly outshine most of Europe.
Kazan was one of the richest areas of the Golden Horde. Why is it red compared to neighbouring areas?

Sviyazhsk, a city that was not even built at this date, has more development than Kazan!

Why no development in the capital region?

i understand why the gulf of ob isnt navigable but i think that the arctic sea should at least be navigable up to the mouth of the pechora river. i also remember reading about pomor traders portaging over the yamal penninsular to trade within the siberian river system but i cant seem to find a good source for that.

I would suggest adding some Orhtodoxy to the Steppes, as before the Mongol conquest the Cumans followed a mixture of Tengrism and Christianity. I also suggest turning the Alans into kingdom, which it still was prior to the depradations of Timur (see Richard Foltz's book on the Ossetes). I would also suggest adding some Alan minorities to the steppes, will post some references later.

Have to say, this was a disappointing one in a pattern of disappointing ones. Sometimes it feels if a Feedback Thread wasn't on a core Western European area, then few of the suggestions are implemented.

Resources seem very wrong too in the Donbass-Don area and in Zaporizhya
Iron, Mercury and gold, copper should be present in the region considering that there is Coal too in Don region when it was mined alot later aswell.

A note on this: we just consider resources that were already exploited before 1836. Mentioning it because a lot of the mineral resources of Ukraine only started to be extracted after the Industrialization of the region started.

That's not going to be useful. What would be acceptable is, if you want, a summary post on what you consider most relevant to prioritize.
Here are links to my and @ibvfteh suggestions on locations summarised and highly accepted by others.

Caucasus:
Certain locations in the region after the feedback still have obvious Slavic names.
That really breaks immersion and flavour to quite a few few people, so I tried to improve it a bit.
And also improved my own approach to this kind of suggestions.

Volga Bulgaria:
Made some changes and added a bit more locations

I take back my claim to rename Morkvashi - it is a historically significant city and was already on the maps of the 17th century (not the worst case). So I think we should let it be a representation of the destroyed old Bulghar city. A lot of locations are named after rivers, as I have not found better variants

Volga-Don:
Following up on the Northern Caucasus location naming suggestions, here are some improved ideas for the Don-Volga part of the Steppes.

Ukrainian Steppe:
Following up on the Volga-Don location naming suggestions, here are some improved ideas for the Wild Fields (Ukrainian Steppe) region.

The Great Meadow:
THE GREAT MEADOWI have realised that for better geographical and historical representation of the Dnipro Steppe the Great Meadow must be represented.
It shaped the whole warfare and borders in the region because it made a huge ~150 – 200 km section of the Dnieper uncrossable (between modern-day Zaporizhia and Kakhovka).

1. Cultures, Ture must be much more Erzya and Moksha people, much more Mari people, Slavic people in the Golden Horde, and non-Slavic Mari in Muscovy
2. Historical areas of Volga Bulgaria, Chervleny Yar, Lower Don (incorrectly located, currently named Azov area) should be represented
3. Development changes
4. Naming changes

I hope it is adressed in general. In particular regarding why indian/chinese moutains/forests/junggles or even parts of the syrian desert express (relatively) high dev, while urban centres dont. It is not just a GH specific problem.

Looks like a very weak and rushed feedback, not going to lie. Still Sloboda, still Mishary, still no Moksha culture, the principalities in Ural are still SoP's, still Yerle Qalıq. Most of the commonly raised points are not corrected and community's awesome work on Tatar names and redraws do not seem to have been implemented.
Is mishary unhistoral?

Terrain and Vegetation
  • Total Review
Pops
  • Completely reviewed population numbers
  • Added some minorities, currently WIP

In this review, we focused a lot on pops, as they were not in line with the usual benchmark we have for most of the regions. You might notice a lot of changes in the cultural and religious maps, therefore. However, there are still some loose ends, so we're currently working towards adding some more minorities here and there. Thus, any additional feedback on this matter will be appreciated, as we will be able to implement stuff quickly from this feedback review.

This map can be used for development and population dispersion

More orange than yellow -> More settlement -> More urbanisation -> More development

3-5 million people lived in the dark orange part, and only 1 million lived in the light golden part!

Also, the religion can be edited with this map

Population review of the Golden Horde, based on works of Iskander Izmaylov (tatar archaeologist)

The entire population of the Golden Horde was 3-5 million settled people and 1 million nomadic.

Here is the map, which shows regions where nomadic people were dominant (yellow) and settled people (orange)
View attachment 1205336
This shows how concentrated the Golden Horde was. The settled regions were around major cities and around the Volga River, with the addition of the Kazan-Bolgar region, where the Volga Bulgaria Kingdom existed.

The capital city of the Golden Horde had 75 thousand people.

A lot of archaeological finds around Astrakhan indicate a lot of settlements in the Volga River Delta. The same can be said about Beldjamen, Saray(both) had a population of around 50-70 thousand. Ukek was also one of the largest cities in the Golden Horde but it was more agricultural. From there, a lot of grains were transported downstream.

Bolgar was the centre of the most prosperous region in the Golden Horde. South of it was Karavan-Sray an unfinished castle. Also, the south part was much richer compared to the north

The modern city of Astrakhan can be renamed to Xacitarxan or Hajji Tarkhan because the name is a corruption of Hashtarkhan, itself a corruption of Haji Tarkhan but it is a corruption that Tatars made, so Astrakhan Tatars did call themselves astrakhan Əsterxan tatarları
