Hi, So I started a new game with this mod turn on, providing extra tiles at start and choose tiles at start. The issue, I can't select a tile to start at. Even as I made it to Lvl 1 and have multiple unlocks, I still can't unlock any tiles. It says I have 0 tiles available to unlock.

Edit, I have anarchy turned on, that's how I got xp to get to lvl 1

Does the same happen when you ONLY have this mod active?

How are you loading in those maps? Exiting the game and restarting, going back to the main menu, loading from within the game, other?
Just by going back to the main menu and choosing the next one. It worked fine so far.
I wouldn't be restarting the game just to make it longer... but now that's the only way to correct it - it seems to work for 1 map only and then again, when loading them by going to the main menu, the map tiles counter goes crazy :)
I haven't learnt the 3rd way yet - loading from within the game... not sure how to do that - apart from pressing ESC to get to the main menu and load the next map.

And to clarify the problem - i just set up a playset with 529 Tiles mod only, same settings (didn't mentioned them earlier: mod - Provide extra tiles at final milestone, game - unlock all), no custom maps.

Using only vanilla maps doesn't make any difference, that number is going randomly with each new map loaded in - by simply going to the main menu while still having the map open or by leaving first to the main menu (just realised now what u meant) - both give the same result. Only restarting the game completely resets the counter.

Just one thing... I have been advised (on Paradox discord ), due to lack of space on C; drive and still waiting for a new one to arrive (which was estimated to be another month - welcome to amazon), to do a link to the CS2 folder on another drive - by using mklink /j command. so the folder where the mods, saves and maps, and screenshots, and so on, are, has been moved that way.

In the meantime, I got the the new hard drive just yesterday (instead of waiting another month for it as they estimated in amazon, probably because they wanted me to cancel the order as the price was quite... attractive i think), so i could at some point reinstall everything to one drive.

Do you think that might be the reason?

I'm not able to reproduce the issue, and have no idea how it would otherwise occur, so it does seem plausible.

Anyone else running into an issue when Re-Locking all tiles and reloading into an already created save, after purchasing the tiles, the game will reset the zoning for tiles in the area?

Troubleshooting steps taken:
1. Locked tiles via 529, saved game, exited, and disabled all mods via Skyve. When game relaunched without mods, issue persisted in world save.

What do you mean by "reset"?

What do you mean by "reset"?
Just took 2 screenshots and attached them which might help elaborate on what I mean by "reset the zoning".
  • "All Tiles Locked"
    • I selected "re-lock all tiles" in the 529 settings and this pic is what it shows the moment I reload into a save with just 529 enabled.
  • "Post-Tile Purchase"
    • Taken right after purchasing a tile in that same save. 529 is still enabled
Curious is anyone might be able to reproduce on their end.

Disclaimer 1: This cities save did have other mods enabled before this test that affected road nodes. Bug still occurred in all test instances with all mods, limited mods, no mods.
Disclaimer 2: I was able to reproduce the same bug upon loading into a save with all mods disabled after utalizing 529 to re-lock the tiles for me to purchase again.

First it unlocked all the tiles suddenly (without clear cause) and then it forced me to repurchase all city tiles every time I load the city. Even the tiles that have already been built need to be rebought. Reinstalling the mod and restarting the game multiple times did not work. I will try to troubleshoot more when I have time, but this is a persistent problem.

Nevermind, for some reason "relock tiles" was checked in the mod settings.

Having the default starting setting to be "unlock everything" was a tad frustrating, took me a while to figure out why all of the cities I've played recently were suddenly failing :') I guess I was expecting the same as the default settings in CS:1 where the additional tiles would become available for purchase, not that everything would instantly be purchased automatically. I finally figured it out, and repaired my affected cities by relocking unused tiles, but here's my experience in case it'll help anyone else. I know I might be an outlier (and a bit of an idiot) but I personally would have preferred the default setting be one of the "provide (but not unlock) additional tiles" and force people to go into the settings, it will likely save some frustration and upset from players like me who didn't realise that the default was "instantly unlock all". Thank you for this (and all of your other) wonderful mods Algernon!
