I don't know if it has been brought up yet (didn't read the whole thread), but the R+L=J theory would explain the name of the series.

"A song of Ice and Fire" seems a little mysterious, don't you think ? "Song" ? "Ice" ? "Fire" ?

Unless you assume that "Ice" is Lyanna Stark (coming from the North) and "Fire" is Rhaegar Targaryen (being a Dragon). The "Song" is actually the tale of their love and the resulting child.

Not only would it give credit to the theory, but it would make it a pivotal event of the series...

Or it could be Ice as in the white walkers, and fire as in dragons, and song used instead of words like saga and such. I am not saying you are wrong, just that there are alot of things that it could mean.

Edit: Or hell R'hllor being fire would make a lot of sense with the whole R'hllor vs the Great Other as the ice part.

Or its a subtle advertisement for Icy Hot

Just noticed this submod and as a pretty big Stark and Targaryen fan and as a firm believer in R+L=J i just had to restart my game from A Feast for Crows.

Will this be included in the main mod at some point if the theory is eventually confirmed by GRRM?

If ever confirmed it will indeed be added :)

Does this submod still work with the new release?

I assume yes, unless knuckey have just forgotten to update it :D
It has now been updated, download here!: http://www.mediafire.com/download/61vt7obnm01kzlc/AGOT_R_L=J(2).zip

Will you guys add it via a confirmation from the show, or does it necessarily have to come from the books/GRRM himself?

Books as the books will also tell us how it happens in GRRM's eyes as opposed to the show runners eyes as some of the way the show have done things comes across as bad fanfiction for some bits

Normally I would agree but isn't the identity of Jon Snow's mother something that GRRM officially did tell the showrunners, or at least confirm to them?

Yes but GRRM also confirmed to them the origin of Hodors name but also (IIRC) said that in the books the origin will be revealed in a different manner. Same can be assumed for Jon's parentage

So i guess this wont be a submod much longer eh?

The AGOT Devs have stated repeatedly that they base the mod on the books, not the show. So at the very least it will remain a submod until Winds of Winter is released

But there is of course a reason why R+L=J was the frontrunner candidate for Jon Snows parentage long before the show was even being filmed, so the likelyhood of GRRM confirming it in Winds of Winter hasn't diminished by the show confirming it, that much is for sure
