Missing countries
Suggestions for anyone working on a joint development effort:
Countries not in Hearts of Iron, appearing 1936-48
1. Republic Sociale Italiana or RSI [hope my spelling is right] -- Mussolini's fascist regime in northern Italy after Italy joins the Allies in Sep 1943.
2. Burma -- Burmese independence movement sponsored by Japanese, led by Aung San. Active from Jan 42, switched to British side Mar 45, achieved independence Jul 47
3. Pakistan & Ceylon -- tied to Indian independence (historically late 47 to Jan-Feb 48). Should also consider making Kashmir independent country, as civil war there started immediately
4. Taiwan -- added to Nationalist China after U.S. occupies Japan, move capital of Nationalist China there if Communist China defeats Nationalist China (historically 1949)
5. North and South Korea -- after defeat of Japan and victory of Communist China (historically 1948). South Korea should depend on American intervention, otherwise all of Korea goes Communist.
6. Vietnam -- Mar 46 (civil war with Viet Minh starts immediately)
7. Indonesia -- declared independence upon Japanese surrender in late 45, fought British and Dutch until independence recognized in 1950.
8. Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon -- Mar, Apr and Dec 46, but could have appeared earlier given early victory over Germany
9. Israel -- historically 1948, might have appeared earlier given early victory.
