This might be a stupid question but, can I play using this mod via LAN against someone that doesn't have it?
no i dont think so. its changing a lot of leaders, adding and removing hundreds of them, so this wont work i think.
EDIT: at least not leaders & ministers. you should be able to use skins, unit pictures, prvince images and these things. basically everything which works without CSV.

I have spent the last two weeks updating the CORE leader and minister files to the AoD 1.08 updates (better late than never, I know).
Since my head is now spinning with ministers and leaders, I thought about including some of your work into CORE 0.61, too.
The Japan Improved pack is on my Harddisk and ready to be included.
Do I have your permission to use it?

yes of course. but this is continued in the "colour" project with many new people and ministers and even more bugs wiped out.
so the best solution for you would be to take the pics from "japan improved", the CSV from "colour pictures" and add the missing 200 or so manually.
if needed i can make them b&w in just a short time, just the frame will be missing.
and colour pictures includes a SOV improved as well with a very detailed purges event chain.
if you stick with the b&w one, take at least two doubles out, IIRC Itahana and Iimura Jo

Since CORE comes with b/w as a standard solution, I´d like to stick to b/w for the moment. It´s a definite improvement over the vanilla set already, where 1.08 has really added almost nothing to previous versions.
I´ll include your early pack right away for the upcoming 0.61 release, and then I might take you up on the offer of converting the colour pack. Personally, I like playing in colour and I have the only existing colour installation of CORE on my computer. I plan to publish this when 0.61 is done.
I have not studied your work in so much detail so far, but from your signature I gather that the other b/w pack you did is Romania. Are there any other b/w country leader minister packs that you have done?

yes, bulgaria, italy, croatia, (participated in) finland, germany. all these come with AoD 1.02. Japan and romania was planned to be included but i did not have the time to make them this fast.Tegetthoff said:

@Teg, just in case you need SOV improved, UK improved, GER improved or such things - i figured it just lasts 10 minutes to convert hundreds of pics from colour without frame to B&W with palette and frame

well, i do remember having sorted out two people, i'm very sure about this. but i left the B&W package as it is for long time as there was no interest and focused on the colour thing i made.
if the double Itahana is out, then maybe searchr Cho Isamu http://generals.dk/general/Cho/Isamu/Japan.html
if its not him, install the package and set your start date to 1946 or something late. sort the leaders with their names and scroll slowly through the list. you should spot him then, but i'm almost certain that i removed a Cho double.
if in doubt, just take the V2 of Japan improved. there are many double pics, but not entries. and a lot has been improved since the last B&W update. the pictures are an automatical conversion of the colour images, they suffer a bit, but still better than the vanilla ones.
did the same with SOV: (see SOVIET UNION IMPROVED)
(there i have replaced hundreds of faked people)

ok, cool. but make sure you take v2. its a bit of work to get the leaders sorted, but definately worth the work as JAP is very hard to mod (TBH i think only FRA or SIA; MON are harder)
