Hmmm.

Hnnng...

that's going to hurt Germany.

Maybe it's an option to pimp our rides? o_O. Not a serious suggestion of course - synthetic rubber sounds very sensible.

Yeah, it was logged as something that needed splitting up pretty much from day 1 iirc. It's nice to see these little fixes in. Nothing revolutionary, not going to amaze, but nice to see the simple niggles being tidied away.

While each change is often not revolutionary, they'll build up to an overall revolutionary effect in time :). Even just the air war between now and launch is quite a different experience :). Rome not built in a day and all that.

Well, it was logical (SU had synthetic rubber from early 30-s, but didn't care about synthetic benzin for obvious reasons). Still, I'll kill someone, if it will be the only topic of new dev diary.

Splitting the current synthetic plants into sythetic oil plants and synthetic rubber plants, since they are and were actually completely different things and having them rolled together was always silly.
They have already done A LOT OF "silly things". Joint production of stuff with completely unrelated specifics (well, maybe only word synthetic is common) was just "logical" for PDX. Paradoxical in their own games.

What kind of monkey business is that?

The Russian Empire started the research on a possible synthetic replacement for natural rubber. While polybutadiene was invented, the process was far too inefficient. Fast forward a bit Poland and the Soviet Union inherited the research, developed different methods to process it, and thus had been producing fully synthetic rubber since the 1930s.

I have to double check, but I think Germany produced something different. Styrene-butadiene and then later on, polyurethane

I kind of know - I'm from Russia.

Still, I won't be surprised that SU won't have this tech too. Just as it hasn't heavy tanks (France hasn't too, while Germany has), and 1936 level tactical bombers.

PDX don't like SU much.

I'm going to guess this is related to the fuel system they mentioned in this post. Looks a bit like a fuel pump to me. We'll find out tomorrow!
tbh i doubt that, as it makes much more sense to see fuel come with a supply system overhual (which the game really needs and i would be thrilled about getting) it seems much more likely that this is something about splitting synth refineries or something like that

Synthetic techs is garbage now. +1 factory in a state? Really? At least throw in some bonuses along the tech, so players with enough provinces will have a motivation to research it beyond level 1
