Having seen earlier in the thread that some of the staff like their metal, any Bathory fans on the team? You can't be from Stockholm, like Metal, and not like them :D

Sorry, haven't heard of them :( But if they're on Spotify, I'll check them out.

Also, a few more questions:
- if you had to permenantly leave Sweden, where would you move to?

Canada. Lots of great places to skii. Or maybe somewhere warmer. Perhaps Spain or Gibraltar.

- has there ever been any moments when you considered giving it all up and getting an easier and less stressful job?

Not yet :) I have just worked in the games industry for about three months, so I am not yet willing to give it up.

- if you weren't doing your particular job at Paradox or another Game studio, what would you be doing?

I'd like to teach game design at a university some day but I do think I need more experience first. It's a dream, at least.

- has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?

I... don't understand

EDIT: I really want to know what that last question is about!

Have E-type done the music to more of your games than "Svea Rike III" aka "Crown of the North" and is it possible he will in the future?

My philosophy is to never say never as you can never be really sure but in this case, I think I can dare to say that ain't going to happen again.

You say Gamersgate and PI are now separate entities does that also mean you've sold GG or is it the same owners?
Still the same owners.

Do you have any colaboration with your old sister company Paradox Entertainment? It would be cool to see Conan clobber the big blue blob.

These days the collaboration consists of meeting over beers whenever we are in LA and strong friendships. No formal collaboration exists.

@ Paradox: Do you guys ever talk about/mention posters in your conversation? Do you remember our names? Will you be eating lunch and be like 'Oh [insert poster] made a thread about x that you should read" or "[inster poster] is becoming disillusioned with us, we must stop him/her!"? Do you like know and memorize posters like we do? Or are we merely speaking dollar signs?

Actually, you'll be surprised at how much we read and talk and pass on threads. And yes - we do keep an eye on some names. But in addition to discussing forum posts and forumites we also collect support e-mails of the week. Some of our favorite ones include "I'm going to *bleeep* your *bleeep* mother on her *bleeep* funeral if you ever send me a *bleeep* e-mail again" and "Help me - I'm Japanese".

What do they say when you tell your friends that you work making games?

I don't have any "friends". I sit at home and i never meet people.

Not Gibraltar, but Malaga and Cadiz are very nice. If you haven't already, maybe one of those should be a target for a vacation someday! Otherwise, Alicante and Benidorm are pretty much 50% vacationers. :p

Yeah I read that quote about 10x trying to figure it out. It makes me want to drink a lot of beer ;)

Here are some of my questions, all playful, since after 20 pages of reading other responses, I feel like I've gotten a lot of serious answers already. Thanks!

1. Which side of the bed do you prefer to sleep on, and how do you prefer to sleep? (e.g. on side + tucked in a ball, passed out on your face/stomach...) This question is really pure nonsense, freely ignore it :p

2. What is your favorite pet to have, realistically? What pet would you have if you could tame any creature (fantasy included)?

3. Since that just reminded me of the Ranger class, what is your favorite class when playing an RPG? (e.g. caster, rogue, fighter, etc...)

4. If you were left on a desert island and could only bring one computer game with you to play for eternity, what would it be?

Cheers!

1. On the left side of the bed, facing the wall. Would prefer the right side but I have a stubborn boyfriend.

2. Dragon!

3. Warrior. I like swords.

4. Tetris. Or any similar game which you could play forever. Think I would tire of The Witcher, Bayonetta or Oblivion if one of them would be the only game I could play. But my haxxor skills would allow me to add cracks to all my (bought) games, so all my old favorites, like Grim Fandango, Little Big Adventure I and II, Monkey Island, EU3 and the ones I mentioned before would be on my computer when I was deserted on the Island.

1. left!
2. a cat. a really big cat (tiger!)
3. I tend to play mages. my longest living pen&paper rpg character was a bard duck though (Drakar & Demoner, swedish Dungeons & Dragons which is superior due to the pirate duck race)
4. Eve Online. any decent MMO I dont think would be canceled for a long long time. That way I could at least talk to other people and brag about my cool private beach.

Football Manager

Who is forum member #1 "Patric"? A former employee or founder?

Patric was sys admin & assistant producer at Paradox until about 7 years ago, and was the guy that set up this forum.

But how come his join date is later than yours? If he's the guy who set it up then surely he was the first member?

the forum software had a crash back then, so his user had to be recreated.

I don't believe :D

Other question: favorite book?

hehe, hope you had a fun time here in Stockholm Rafa.

My favorite book... thats a hard question.

right now I really like "World War Z".

Oh yes, I don't wash my 'eyes' for a long time :p

And the last question : Which was your first program (and the language that you used)?

something i wrote on c64 as a little kid i think

- Anyone at pi read A song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin?

Everyone reads them! I swear I thought it was a rite of initiation or something. It just turned out the books kicked ass.

I'm halfway through the fourth and final book (yes final, we all know he'll never finish the fifth!)

/s

Let's suppose Martin will go crazy and allow transition of his books to PC game by you(;) ) . Would like to move away from history genre towards fantasy to create it? And which one of your games you think would be the best to use as base for such game?

Let's manhandle mr Martins agents into giving us the license, then we can talk game mechanics!:p

Cheers,
Mattias

Other question: favorite book?

Stephen Kings Dark Tower series. probably The Waste Land if I have to pick one out of the series

Have you read Under the Dome? Highly reccomend it

no not yet, I got a bit of a backlog of books atm before I get there. The last book in Stephenson's Baroque Cycle series, Alistair Reynolds new one (his sci-fi stuff is really great, except the first one Revelation Space, which sadly you have to read to get into the rest), and some russian fantasy book I cant remember the name of right now.

I tend to chew through books pretty fast since I spend about 1:30h a day on trains.
