Similar to Front Mission. Turn based strategy with giant robots. Each mech has multiple locations that can be hit independently, similarly to how Wanzers do. Several different weapons with very different purposes. I would call them similar.

It is my understanding that the MercSIM aspect of BATTLETECH is quite like Front Mission, yes. But hopefully others might be able to contribute some specific examples.

A long time coming and from appearances well worth the wait. The beta was a lot of silly fun and now we'll be getting a full campaign it's nearly time to fire up the PPCs for glory and honour but mostly for the money.
Just wanted to drop in and say congratulations and thank you to the Dev's. Really looking forward to this one since, we are far overdue for a turn based Battletech game!
I admit, I'm a bit anxious to play. I thought we could pre-load the game today. But right now there still no option for it.
Pre-loading starts at 9am PDT (5pm UK, other times in other places
)The game will then unlock 24 hours later!
If I did my calculations correctly, then the pre-load should be available now (as of ~2 hours ago).
I scrounged up enough money to get the deluxe edition. Soooo excited. Can't wait to play.
Scared I will not make it to launch and that I will explode with pent up anticipation
