Yeah, and in a few decades or a century or so, I'm not entirely sure, they'll be completely under Austria's boot. I need to find a chance to take some land/vassalize them before that happens.

Indeed, bloody Habsburgs, it won't be easy to defeat them...

I like Brandenburg. Good luck, I will be reading. :)

A bonus is that it appears the Ottomans are doing fairly well. You can possibly count on them keeping Austria and Bohemia busy over the next hundred years or more.

Looks like Brittany did well in your game too. Hmmm.

One month later 30k lazely sieging Bohemians get their behinds kicked by 5000 rebels and are sent running to their mothers in Moravia.

I've had my share of problems with rebels but this is weird. Too bad about the war but getting out was the right move. There's always next time.;)

What you say. I'm looking forward with dread to the events that'll come with Friedrich V and the religious wars. At leat I managed to gain some more strength in the following update.

Possibly yes. They've indvanced far into Europe already and even sieged Vienna already. Brittany did well indeed but is now back on becoming a pawn of France.

Next time is coming up!

I agree. If need be I am very happy to accept every ducat I can squeeze out.

In August 1483 Brandenburg has been at peace with Bohemia for a little more then five years. I decide it's time to work out for the Brandenburgian army and use the hated Bohemia as punchbag. They are only allied to Bavaria this time so I don't have to worry about Austria this time. Bohemia is also at war with the Ottomans and with an alliance of Pomeranians, Saxonians and Venicians.

Brandenburg declares war on Bohemia again, August1483.

The next month the bavarian-Bohemian alliance signs peace with the Venicians. Our smaller army under Braunschweig-Lüneburg starts sieging Silesia. Albrecht Achilles waits to invade bohemia until the winter is over end then starts sieging Erz in March 1484. That exact same month Silesia falls to Hessen.

I send B-L to Erz and once he arrives Albrecht Achilles goes south to lay siege to Prague. In may I start recruiting an extra 5000 soldiers in Brandenburg.

It takes B-L another six months to wrestle control over Erz from Bohemia.

Our nobles prepare a very nice Christmas present for me and give me a 100 ducats for free! Who'd have thought nobles CAN actually be noble! One has to love the Christmas spirit!

Another round of recruiting goes on in Brandenburg in February 1485. Meanwhile the merged armies of B-L and Anhalt-Köthen win a battle against a Bavarian army in Sudeten and start siging there. Albrecht Achilles finishes the siege of Prague and mops up resistance in Bohemia proper.

Once Bohemia is under Brandenburgian control the Bohemian army sitting for months in Moravia moves towards Albrecht Achilles. The enemy has amassed forces from 8000 until finally 18000 soldiers, against 23000 Brandenburgians. Albrecht Achilles wins, obviously. He follows them back to Moravia, defeats the Bohemians again and then starts sieging Moravia.

In August the Bohemians make an opening peace offer. They are willing to cede Erz and silesia. Usually I'd accept. During the first two wars I'd certainly have accepted no matter how well the war was going. But now I press on and decline.

Anhalt-Köthen continues to siege Sudeten, courtesy of Bavarians standing still in Ansbach and whatever they are hiding in Bayern. In January 1486 the province falls into my hands.

Oh you have won a crushing victory. Congratulations!

I agree you aren't facing serious resistance so go on for complete victory.

As long as you have control of the war, then yes indeedy...take every bit you can. Just watch your BB. ;)

The war is not over yet. But thanks.

Yes, I still have them. But as I said there are events coming that will prevent further advances.

I certainly will and I certainly am! ;)

Hmm, I should have a look at my BB, I don't know how high it is right now (1500). Anyway, I don't think I've gone over 10 BB so far but still whenever I DoW someone a few months or years later other states DoW me in return. Filthy backstabbers!

All of Bohemia except Moravia is now under my control and they only have some 4000 soldiers left as far as I can see stationed in Austria for the moment. All that's left is a two province Bavaria. I send peace offers to Bohemia for a seperate peace where they cede Erz, Silesia and Sudetenland but they refuse time and time again. Almost as if they know what is to come...

After I occupied Sudetenland I sent Braunschweig-Lüneburg with an army of 16000 to Ansbach to attack 3500 Bavarians, see what they have in Bayern and start sieging the province. He loses as another 18000 Bavarians reinforce the army in Ansbach. I decide to gather all armies once Albrecht is done sieging Moravia and try again. That would make 31k for us vs 22k for them. Reasonable odds, no?

In March 1486 my monarch dies and Brandenburg is thus without leaders for the armies. Johann Cicero will now rule supreme in northern Germany.

Later that month Legat finishes the siege of Moravia. Bohemia keeps refusing our offers despite being completely occupied. LEgat and his soldiers move to Sudetenland to unite with the army already there waiting and then continue to Ansbach.

The battle stretches out over three months until June. Initially things go well for me but in the end the Bavarians win decisively and I am once again forced to retreat back to Sudetenland. Meanwhile the Bohemians who were cowering in Austria returned to Bohemia proper, but they don't have enough forces to commence a siege.

As if they can smell that I am vulnerable the Danish declare war on me almost right after the lost battle. I bring Friesland and Cleves into the war, they are backed by Oldenburg and Norway. I decide it's time to leave for the north and offer the Bohemians peace for Erz, Silesia and their treasury. They accept and I leave in a hurry to my home provinces.

War with Denmark and the withdrawal from Bohemian lands, June-July 1486.

My army has gone down from 31k before the battle against the Bavarians to 17k so I decide to rest the troops in Brandenburg and recruit new regiments. Hannover is being besieged by 26k Danes.

1486AugustSituationWar.jpg

Situation of the war in August 1486.

During the autumn Cleves sends it's forces to Oldenburg to besiege it. Nothing of note happens further until a philosopher decides to create some trouble but I decide Johann Cicero will be a benign king and allow him to remain free. I can deal with the stability hit and I love the innovative slider, but I think I might have to check if I'll have enough left to get any missionaries later on.

Uncooperative Philosopher, December 1486.

The happy sieging continues in Hannover and Oldenburg and in april 1487 both Cleves and Denmark finish their siege successfully. The Danish now move to Münster tosiege small one province minor Cleves. I see another 22k Danish army in Holstein on the move to Oldenburg and Friesland and deccide to make a seperate peace with Oldenburg. While the Danish army in Holstein marches on towards Bremen I start sieging Mecklenburg and recruit extra regiments in Magdeburg.

Well a nice victory against Bohemia, but it would had been far better without the Danish backstabbing.
