Exactly that´s the reason why it is yet unincluded in the event.txt.
But thanks anyway, always keep your eyes open for something like that!:)

major_bay still isn't in in the new release, despite your post in the release saying those beer events are in, making me believe they should be in, but maybe that's just me...

HELP!!!! I can't get Abe to run....I downloaded the latest file okay, unzipped to my EU2 folder (at C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Europa Universalis 2) but I can't get the damn thing to run. I checked the Old Files thread, but executing "C:\Program Files\Strategy First\Europa Universalis\EU2.exe" Abe doesn't work for me. Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I really want to play this scenario but I'm completely computer non-friendly!!!! Thanks guys

Which patch you got, I hope the latest. I am a bit unsure what could go wrong possible. Do you get an error message? Does the computer just sit there and does nothing?

Thanks for getting back to me, but no need to worry as I've now got it working fine (yes it is the latest patch). Now my only problem is wanting to play every new country at the same time! Seriously though this is great work and really rebuilds interest in the game.

I think the Altmark/Magdeburg thing is a WAD.

In the Finland event file we are missing a command to change Finland to its second AI -- it should be in 200011 -- aaaaand Finland2.ai still has ferocity = yes (and so does byzantium.ai for that matter). I know, I sound like a broken record.

Byzantium events # 200145, 46, 47 and 200148 all have the wrong country tag (all are country = BYZ, should be BUL, BUL, BUL, KRE is beleive).

When you hunt bugs all on your own, you´re bound to oversee things, so patience please.:D

I'm not nagging you, Archduke... ok, maybe I am a little bit. :) But I don't blame you or anything. You have a big job in this project. Stuff happens.

Ho, I'm back from der Deutchland.

AI files of Byz and Fin I forgot to change, but it's real easy to change them, but really I'd like to new ones, if somebody explains to me the meaning of the odd variables at the end of 'em (I copied 'em from default).

Those wrong country tags are a simple bug left from not checking stuff enough while cutting / pasting empty events, which had country already in.

Thanks for pointing 'em out though, because it often takes another person to spot many silly bugs that the creator won't notice... ;)

This is only the natural result of staring at a block of code for a long period of time -- the human brain starts to autocorrect things without a person noticing.

About the variables in the AI files. Here is a nice summary that Mad King James was nice enough to point out to me:

Cheers.

Hey there. Playing as the Teutonic Order I've found that the army that starts in Masovia gets attacked by a 'phantom' invisible Ukrainian army (and always loses) I'm not sure what's causing this. If you move the army out of the province things are fine, but if it is left there it will be anihilated by invisible ukraininan ninjas.

Also there's a random Golden Horde event (can't remember the name... somebody's folly or something...it's the one where you get a choice between spending a little money and getting a manufactory or spending a heap of cash and getting two manu's) that doesn't have a country specific tag...leading to it triggering randomly for any nation.

Hope that's helpful

Thanks for all the input, I am currently seriously debugging.

1- Hab leaders don't seem included in the latest Abe file (4-7, 15:53 last edited, here), but this might be intentional as
2- Hab leaders are a direct copy from Bay leaders, giving some ID conflicts.

Same for the Hab monarchs: not included in latest file, same id's as Bay monarchs.

3- Bavarian event 201621 (death of Vaclav) does not trigger properly, I suggest to move it to one day after the triggering Bohemian event, since it's not a direct trigger, and thus it checks whether the event has happened at the same time that it should happen.
Same for Hungarian event 200804 (death of Vaclav).

4- Bavarian event 201622 (Prague occupied) and the same event for Hungary, 201805, are supposed to trigger Bohemian events (not yet included, but said as to do). However, these events require Bavaria or Hungary to OWN Prague, making it quite unlikely that Bohemia will exist. I think it should be CONTROL.

You´re right on 1., 2., 3. and 4. Thanks alot, actually. :)

I don't know what's causing it, but I keep getting CTD's in 1600. I'm using the July 3 ABE and the latest beta patch. This has happened playing as the Teutonic Order and as the Union of Kalmar. I'm not sure if it's happening with other nations since I haven't reached 1600 with anyone else since changing to the July 3 and latest beta.

I like to report little oddity in Bulgaria leader file that is shared with Byzantium leader file too. One of the bulgarian monarch leaders has been mistakenly put to have startdate in 1613th of january in year 5. Obviously they should be other way round. Also the leader before that has his deathdate similiarly wrong.

Shall I send you the fixed files or do you want to fix them yourself? They are the first two leaders in Bulgaria leaderfile and leaders 30863 and 30864 in Byzantium file.

Funny though that it accepts day 1613 in day field. :)

I don't know if you appreciate this at all, by I did a comprimation of the .inc files removing a lot of unneeded the data that the scenario editor creates. The only change I did was to up the morale of all starting troops from 0.5 to 2.0.

Perhaps I'm not trusted enough that you would agree to this... :)

Anyway, here's the file: http://kaigon.web1000.com/AGC.rar (it replaces everything in the /Abe/Scenarios/AGC/ folder).
EDIT: My comprimation decreases the size by about 40%.

EDIT2: I also made some DPslider reminding events... perhaps something for the next patch, or at least an option. http://kaigon.web1000.com/DPsliders.rar

The Incs are very appreciated, the scenario editor doesn´t add morale which sucks.:p

On the DP reminder events, I never seen them in action are they worthwhile?

I get a consistent crash in 1600, which (after some fiddling) looks to be caused by anyone (AI or human) choosing option A in the Granada event concerning the `Pillar's of Hercules'. I don't know enough about scripting to tell what's crashing, so I just disabled it in my copy.

Also, one of the events for the tag STE (Golden horde?) I think called `Odo's Folly', dosn't have a tag limiting it to just that country, so as Erie and the KoJ I was getting this event.

This is a great mod though, I'm having a blast! :)
