Clicking on the bookmark "Rise of the Hansa" leads to a CTD for some reason (I'm using the 2014-04-12 update release).
Sorry, that's PB's fault this time; I didn't notice PB+SWMH was duplicating the bug from SWMH, so it only got fixed in SWMH itself, not PB+SWMH.
Will have it fixed in the PB beta in a moment.

I'm trying to install HIP (with Immersion instead of SWMH) on my Linux computer, using the handy Python installer. However, I get this:

What have I done wrong? HAVE I done anything wrong? And more importantly, how do I fix it?
You probably haven't done anything wrong; it seems the installer is failing on non-Windows machines for whatever reason. ziji will get that fixed.
Anyway, what you can do is open main.py, go to line 620, and change "enableModDefaultNo" to "enableMod"; I think that'll fix it. Note that enabling NBRT+ on a non-Windows machine can potentially cause issues.

The issue with the installer on Linux has now been resolved.
Two bugs in PB were also fixed in the process:
Fixed a few kingdoms incorrectly remaining parts of dejure empires when No Ahistorical Empires is enabled
[PB+SWMH] Fixed bookmarks after 1215 crashing the game

On the line of assassinations, it seems that even if I'm not discovered while killing someone I still show as the name over the red skull on the victim. This probably isn't HIP-related, but does anyone know if this is WAD? Does that work for everyone, i.e. if someone is murdered but I don't know who did it will the dead character's portrait give away who the killer was?
I think when you're the killer the red skull will always show. When the killer is actually unknown to you it shouldn't.
The mechanic is entirely vanilla though.

I thought only Orthodox characters had the opportunity to mend the schism.

Anyway the Byzantine Empire exist and Catholics are not around to take over the remaining four pentarchs.

I play Fatimid and have created Shia caliphate on my way to conquer Egypt.

I started this game in previous patch HIP/ROI-03-28, maybe it affects the stability that I'm using a newer patch now.
In PB (and VIET Immersion, I think), Catholics can also mend the schism.
Though I do need to make the requirements stricter.

I seriously doubt that this was intended. Revocation allowed is the default law for new feudal titles in PB. Apparently, it was blocked for republics, one way or another. I don't immediately see any balance reasons for why this would be the case. @AnaxXiphos, @Meneth, any input on why we're doing this instead of just following the default vanilla policy of allowing revokation_1? These are de jure kingdom-level titles, after all.

Keep in mind he's playing PB+VIET and not straight PB, and I haven't verified decisions/crown_laws.txt (though if there's an is_feudal = yes in the law potential, I'm sure the reason why is not commented).
I'd be fine with giving them access to the leftmost two revocation laws, yeah.
The idea, inherited from vanilla, is that republics cannot get anywhere near Absolute Crown Authority. But they should definitely get revocation.

Now that's an ugly country name

Using everything, exept Immersion.
I've fixed it in the PB beta now, thanks.

I'd just like to thank you for the best bug report we've ever received.

If I understand you right, you experienced the issue with both CKII 2.1.4, and 2.1.5.2, but upon reinstalling 2.1.4 from scratch, the issue disappeared?

Hi all,

playing latest ver of HIP I observed perhaps not a bug but bad functionality:

- when siegeing together with allies they cancel siege, restart siegeing, cancel and so on. They don`t leave the province, just start marching away and then change their mind.

That leads to hairy moments for the human player on occasion.

Rgds, Oldtimer
The AI is mostly hardcoded, so it is probably a vanilla issue.

I still see the occasional CTD in HIP...and for the last three versions of HIP running. Previous version didn't have CPR, Current version has CPR (portraits are working great now)
Could you copy the contents of your version.txt file? Bug reports sadly aren't all that useful unless we know the exact config used.

With the ARKO packs and PB installed, I've have persistent CTD issues with HIP. When I first start a game it'll load up just fine and can save early on as well, but later on (usually something like ~25 years from game start and onwards) in a game when I try to save it CTDs as soon as I press the 'save game' button from the menu.

Pretty much along with EMF. I think it might be a glitch with some of the events. Event seems buggy in general. Killed the opening events but that doesn't stop the game from freaking out sometimes crashing randomly at specific dates. Well, in my experience the best thing to do is wait for this to get patched. C'mon Cybr I want my VIET back without having to tinker with the old stuff!
It is literally impossible to use EMF without PB.
