Naval Event IDs

They will be ID# 1400XXX when they are done. I have to finish numbering naval construction events to ensure that there is no conflict with the numbering. :) MDow

Mate, those id's are used by core_Hard events. So far I used over 50 id's from this pool and I don't know where I stop... :D

Start with 1400100, ok?
 
How 'bout 1600XXX? I thought that 1.4 million was safe :D MDow

Why are you not using the correct ID ranges for each country? Avoiding ID conflicts is exactly why we have put all the effort into maintaining the Treaury. Create an outline of the event chain you want, then pm Generalisimo and he will reserve the needed ID's for you.

the problem is that they are a lot of events, we can try to coordinate that, but it will be really hard...
MateDow, do you want to try that? it could be a hard work, but we could do it... :D
By now, the list is up to date, so if you start using the current ID's that are available it will work. ;)
Just let me know what you decide...
 
I can do it either way. It was suggested that we make a single series of numbers for naval events becuase I have around fifty for some countries with complex relations (like Argentina). What ever people think is the most correct way to do it. MDow

Keep the event IDs within the ranges defined for the countries. Otherwise we might as well scrap the treasury and say that every event writer gets 1000 ID's, doesn't make sense to me and goes against everything we've worked on so far.

NEW WORLD ORDER (ITALY)

I am almost finished my new world order italy events. I have a few bugs to flesh out first. I think you'll find them realistic, the optional peace treaties expand Italy's influence but don't make them too overbearing in africa and the middle east.

anyways; there are a lot of new events...probably in the twenties. I am scrapping the work on yugoslavia because the the posters on central europe seem to be getting it done anyway.

Anyways; should I just post the events or put them in a zip file? Also, should I reserve some event spaces ahead of time?

if you could reserve the events IDs it will be great... because some could use those numbers and you will have to edit them... ;)
send them by email when you finish... or if you get stuck with a bug... :D
 
re: Trimming

Trimming it down. Trying to see if I can minimize the events.

Only one bug; there is a database mismatch error when iraq is reconstituted. I got rid of the new iraqi leader file and the error disappeared.

Only 2 things to do before completion; tweak the postwar Iraq and Egypt events (Italy has the option of returning some lands to Egypt in order to influence egypt towards the axis). Finish up the Italy Axis peace events; easier considering no puppets have to be created.
 
Realistic?

Unlikely Italy would just let countries be independent again if they were large enough to reconstitute the Roman Empire. Albania, yes, Egypt? No.

MAYBE, if he wanted to the manpower, but he'd probably end up confiscating the land at a later date.

If you are talking about the Axis allied Italy of the 1940s; you are probably right. Egypt, all of the disputed territoriy would have been annexed directly into the Kingdom of Italy.

However, part of my events make it possible for Italy to go to war with England while not being a part of the axis. This basically turns into an old scale colonial war; with a victorius Italy basically reorganizing the power structure of the region AND recieving more colonial territories. My reconsituted Egypt is now much smaller than the original; with high dissent and claims on the extended region. I do not think this is unrealistic in the slightest. If a player wants to own all of it, they have to join the axis and take london.

England under no cirumstances would have allowed the loss of the suez canal and the complete annihilation of all their allies in the region; which would make their remaining holdings extremely vulnerable. In my event; Italy can either continue the war (lay claim to the british empire in africa and the middle east) or it can accept the british peace treaty; which includes a pledge to remain at peace for fifty years, and concentrate on different areas.

I am nearly done now. The events shall be posted presently.

If Mussolini went to war with the Allies he wouldn't of puppeted htem.

The whole puppet thing was so that the Allies BEFORE the war wouldn't get pissed off.

Its the only reason it was done, its the exact same reason there was a "Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia"

He would have puppeted countries if he wanted to GO BACK to a peaceful situation with the allies where future peace was guaranteed. I am not the only one who has employed this situation. Yogi's NWO does the exact same thing; and that is if Germany DEFEATS all allied presence on the British Iles. As I say, it is up to the player to extend the war if he wants.

Crashbug in Italian surrender (and fix)

I'm running CORE v0.52, HOI v 1.05b.
I'm experienced a crashbug shortly after the first
pair of Italian surrender events.
( name = "16:00 November 27, 1939 : Italy went with Arrest Mussolini in Failure of Fascism."
name = "16:00 November 27, 1939 : Italy had Negotiations ." )
(events 462021 and 022)

It seems the bug was caused by an error in core_Germany, event # 172032
For some reason, the secedeprovince actions in that event listed the destination country as
"which = u01" instead of "which = U01"

The capitalizaiton apparently matters, since
the game has proceeded w/o crash after I capitalized the country identifier.
