So some day I'd like the possibility to have games with my Sunset Invasion mod converted to EU4, including changes to the Americas setup - just like vanilla CK2 does when the Sunset Invasion DLC is active (though somewhat tweaked as my lore is quite different).

It is not going to happen in the immediate future (still need to learn C++), but I have been considering how that could work, repository-wise. Could I merge some code into your main repository, that detects my mod and changes the output accordingly (and otherwise does nothing); or would I have to make my own branch of the repo, and direct people to use that one instead of the main one?
I'm not sure what you mean. CK2toEU4 and CK3toEU4 both support sunset invasion and we've modded it extensively so poor natives start reformed, can build boats, have tributaries and so on. I suggest you grab ck2toeu4 and run a test conversion, manually activating sunset. Then see if the output is something you had in mind.

As for general contributions, of course we accept them, usually the procedure is to fork the main repo, make your own changes and make a pull request.

How does CK3toEU4 support Sunset Invasion exactly? :D Given that Sunset Invasion does not exist as a CK3 DLC, only as a CK2 DLC and a CK3 mod (mine).

There's simply not an option to detect savegame status of it. You can still manually enable it in converter options.

ah btw how is religion conversion is going to be? are you gonna just merge all heresy's? like all Christian faiths merged in to 1 christian omega blob so it matches default eu4 and all Islamic faiths into 1 gigantic Sunni blob
is my custom faith not be converted? if that is the case bcs I hold Rome and is the pope of a custom faith in a eu4 conversion I will be just a christian and would need to return my capital to the pope?

We intend to craft religions out of their constituent components. All religions. If your catolicism suddenly decides popes are no longer necessary, then popes won't be a thing.
That's the theory. We'll see in practice how this works.

So it's planned to be in, at least for EU4. But if you later convert EU4 save to Vic2, they will be grouped with parent religion (as religions don't matter much in Victoria, and too many of them would create issues with POPs).

yes yes I saw that one already I think I didn't specify my question see I mended the great schism and both the pope and the patriarch hold no territory so they are useless on my mind but there are still many christian and orthodox kings/queens I think Abyssinia was someone holding 2 empire titles as a christian so Christianity isn't that out of the box yet so what I meant to say is my religion and Christianity are still big religions if we are gonna merge them into 1 Christian group but have it the most popular one then my faith becomes less dominant as in there are more Christian kings then my faith so in my case Christianity and my faith being separate makes more sense since they are polar opposites and we are both hostile to each other suddenly merging wont hold even when I did the great schism most of the kings converted got back to Christianity 10-30 years later so my faith is kinda specific to my empire alone so my fear is my unique faith will be merged with Christianity to make some kind of half Vulvurlaist(my relifion) half Christian heresy

ah I remember reading somewhere that all abramic religions were gonna be merged well if you are gonna make a custom religion maker just for the sake of converting religion's from ck3 good luck with that I hope the development process goes without any problems and easy on y'all

(bit salty about core conversion here sorry bout that)In eu4-vick2 it wasn't very fair such as when I converted my ottoman save file the regions I had as a core for over 300 years that were my culture my religion and had %0 autonomy and no rebels or no unrest were colonial provinces so instead of me having a ottoman empire with a %100 Turkish %100 Sunni Balkans what I had was Balkans as a colonial province and here is the thing I used most of my power points on developing the Balkans I tried the conversion with every coring option and neither had the Balkans that had my culture my religion and were my cores for over 300 years other than a uncivil colonial province

anyways since coring doesn't exists in ck 3 is every province owned going to be a core?
also can y'all add an option to make every core in eu4 becomes a core in vicky2 or atleast have the same civilization level

Methinks you used an older version of EU4toVic2 converter. How coring works is explained in detail on the wiki. As far as this is concerned, we do the same as we did in ck2toeu4. Tags get cores on own territory, and cultural unions get cores on provinces of their culture.

I made a religion called Havena Goodtiem and it took the Byzantine Empire by storm and I'm just lost as a person.
Where did you get an uncompressed save? Regular saves are always compressed, AFAIK.
