Quote from readme_faq.txt
Dang. I read the helpme and the scenarios files, but I thought it wouldn't be a "frequently asked questions" since it's pretty new. ;) Thanks for the info Donnie D.

I reinstalled everything.
Well, everything... Arma 1.2 with the Cold war tech tree. Nothing else.
While launching the 1936 campaign, I had the same bug you mentionned earlier, noticing that mine had nothing to do with it. I changed the events2.txt file and everything was fine.
Which means DAIM was the bugger here. Since DAIM does come with some events, I guess that must be it. I was pretty sure I installed only the AI and not the events, although I now doubt I must have forgotten to uncheck it.

I'll reinstall once again everything and let you know, but we can say for sure that events2.txt does mispatch hoi2plus.txt.
And that the DAIM events are most likely not compatible with the Cold war tech tree events. Which is only logical, after all...

Edit: So, installing the Cold war tech tree BEFORE Daim, with or without the events, will make the 1936 grand campaign not work. (Didn't try any other scenario, though...) Installing the tech tree over Daim will work just fine. Do you think this will alter the Daim AI alot? It would be kinda sad not to be able to play with the full Daim AI and this mod's events.

I cannot say, I don´t use DAIM, after all they stopped development and I kinda resent a mod, that makes Germany and Japan the strict evilguys, because my united Southamerica-Empire with 120 belligerence is also evil :D

Well, CDCP is more like a patch, so I don't think there's any problem.

2) DAIM users will need to do three things:
A) Install DAIM last as per above
B) fix the file events2.txt as per above
C) Manually edit the 1936.eug, 1938.eug and 1939.eug files supplied with DAIM as follows:
Change line
# Includes for global data
include = "db\events.txt"
to read
include = "db\events2.txt"
This should resolve the "scenario files have errors" issue
It is due to the map minimod which redefines province 2602 as a land province to have an off-map administrator nation. If a land province is not assigned you'll get this error message. Events2.txt takes care of this.
You also have the option of playing the 1936 scenario WITHOUT my events package by clicking on the "1936 Grand Campaign User Mod" icon. It is also corrected for the map issue.

3) CDCP changes may or may not get lost. I began work on this mod before CDCP was complete. However, my mod should be installed OVER CDCP because otherwise it will not work properly. Also I've made some corrections that Gorbadec decided not to make.

If you have 0.16b these issues have been taken care of. If you have 0.16a you can manually fix the problem and don't have to download 0.16b.

Many, many thanks for your support!
Testing this right now. :)

Also, shouldn't CDCP always be installed first? Or is it me being wrong?
I see it so much like a patch that I tend to believe it is a kind of Arma 1.3 ...

It's not necessary to install CDCP, but if you're going to install CDCP it should be done BEFORE my mod, because CDCP will undo my model modifications.

CCIP (modified version) is included, so it's not really needed. There is a remote chance you'll find something missing that's CCIP related so if that happens install CCIP and reinstall my mod over it. And I'd like to hear about this if that happens. Yes. I just double-checked and the CCIP ai files did make it in to 0.16.

I've gotten an initial setup for the REAL 48 Fatherland scenario which I'll release in a few days as an ALPHA. I'd like the technologies reviewed and events are somewhat limited. The major issue is that in the original Fatherland units were coded with a different and sometimes very confusing model scheme. I've gotten the German units about 30% converted as of now. Stay tuned!

Armageddon 1.3? Well thanks for the honor, but I wouldn't want to be accused of plagiarism or anything. Let it be known simply as the Cold War Extension. I have to say, though that it is what I WISH Paradox had done.

I meant CDCP was like Arma 1.3 to me, that's why it seems obvious to me that it should always be installed before any other mods, right after 1.2. ;)

Still playing my way through the scenarios. Didn't notice any bug yet, though I haven't much time to look everything into details... (Not that I'm very good at it either !)

*snip*
Sorry for the double-post.

I'm one version behind (due to crappy dialup connection when I'm home), but when Commie china won the Civil War and the Nationalists fall back event happened, the Nationalists kept 4 random provinces on the mainland, 1229, 1249, 1222, 1226. If this was fixed in the last version I'm sorry for bringing it up.

Oh also, I found a bunch of my old Cold War battle scenarios I made a few years back when I tried doing a Cold War mini mod. If you'd like I could upload them sometime when I get access to a better internet connection. I'd like to see them used somehow since I was never able to finish my mod and this is the closest thing now a days to a full blown Cold War mod.

Edit:
Couple things I forgot:

-The error with North Korean leader pictures still exists in Doomsday. Paradox accidentally linked the North Korean leaders to random ministers. I have correct file so you can see the leader pictures correctly, or just change all of the
"M's" to "L's" in the Commiekorea leader file.

-Syria and Lebanon both have ridiculous amounts of units by the start of the Arab-Israeli War, since they exist in 1945. Lebanon alone had like 12 infantry divisions against the 4 that Israel gets. Then combined with the other Arab armies they are pretty much completely outnumbered, though I suppose this isn't too far from the truth. But they also have pretty high tech and organization too for a small Middle Eastern nation. Maybe nerf their starting tech?

-Egypt, unless being played by a human player, has no way to fight in the war. Their access to the Sinai is blocked by British control of the Suez and the AI would never build transports or the convoys it needs to sustain them. Maybe secede the Suez to Egypt temporarily during the war?

Thank you very much for your post. Please post a link to the files so I can see if they are of use.

Probably the ideal solution for the Arab Israeli war is to
1) Give Lebanon and Syria a peacetime IC mod
2) Give Egypt military access to the UK (at least for the war) or as you suggest, temporarily secede the Suez Canal to them.
On the other hand I'd like the Arabs to usually lose unless Egypt is played by a human.
I'll also look into changing the Israeli victory event. Right now it requires
1) Capture of one Egyptian province or luck that Egypt stays out of the war
AND
2) Capture of one Jordanian, Syrian or Lebanese province.
I might change it to #2 alone, as long as Egypt hasn't taken any territories.

The missing provinces in China should be fixed in 0.16

All nations will eventually get peacetime IC mods.

Here are the 3 most complete battle scenarios and the fixed North Korean leader file. The three battle scenarios are: the 1st Arab-Israeli War, the Korean War and the Suez Crisis. None are 100% finished, but they all have end game events and are playable and I updated the units to work with all the new divisions levels you added. I didn't change the tech levels at all cause I really had no idea what any nation should have in regards to the new doctrines and stuff. I can update them and make new events and all that stuff if you want to add them in, since I'd love to see them used.

There is also a 1947 Indo-Pakistani War scenario, but that requires a bit of change since I had to add in a dummy Kashmir nation for it to work. If you want that one too I can edit it to not have that nation. I figured I'd let you see if you want these ones first before I went through the editing process.

EDIT:

One other thing involving Nationalist China. When they retreat to Taiwan they have no IC or anything and offten leave their allience with the US in a few months. Maybe you could give some IC and resources via event on the island to represent foreign aid or something so that the Commies can't just role in when they leave the allience.

Just to clarify that even if you gave Egypt military access to the UK, it would be unable to attack Israel from UK territory (unless the UK was also at war with Israel). This is working as designed, as far as I know (I assume the programmers made the game this way to prevent backstabbing/taking advantage of the AI).

A roundabout way of bypassing this might be to create a land (river/shallow sea) connection between As Suwayz (id: 4) and Sharm-el-Sheik (id: 1801). This would allow an Egyptian AI's land forces to bypass a British occupied Suez (unless the relevant sea province were blockaded). This would allow an Egyptian AI's land forces to bypass a British controlled Suez (unless the area was blockaded). I don't think the connection can be created by event though, so this would need to be in place from the start of the game (which could have repurcussions for fighting in North Africa). Just bringing another option to your attention:)

Also, just to note that I was looking through the 'Man on the Moon' events file, and the British moon landing event seems to place the 500 victory points in Tokyo (id: 1184), instead of London (id: 19).

Tigey,
Might 1) create a land connection as you say 2) temporarily cede the Suez Canal or 3) have the Egypt independence event build convoys and a couple of transports. Regarding UK moon landing creating victory points in Tokyo--WHOOPS! That will have to be fixed! It should read province 19 not 1184. Will be resolved next version. One of the Chinese states had the same error and that will be fixed too. Thank you for the bug report.

Lt Hilsdorf,
Please include the Kashmir nation with its HOI2 Armageddon tag which is U80.
I'll take a look at the files you created.
RE: Taiwan ROC--fixed IC in the current version but have not worked out a solution to them leaving the US alliance. That might require a new AI file. For right now try adding this to event 2477 in the file CCIP.txt

command = { type = set_relation which = USA value = 150 }

Hi. Happy hollydays,

My question is the next.

I am playing with the previous version of the cold war tech tree, so if i try to change the old version for the newest, will i be able to load my campaign with no problem?
Thanks:D

Oberkommando,
What will happen is that you'll get a "scenario files have errors" message. To fix it, here's what you can do.
1) Ignore the error message and play anyway.
2) tweak the savegame by notepad editing. Here are the steps:
a) look at any nations files--take Switzerland for example. Add province 2602 to the section that says ownedprovinces = {...}, and
controlledprovinces = {... }
Save the altered file
b) load as any country.

"The Allies" is an off-map administrator nation. It will not show up in your game but will with any new game.

Thank you Lt Hillsdorf. I shall release the scenarios for evaluation next version.
Happy New Year!

I am playing the Doomsday campaign and in early 1946 Turkey switches sides and the game crashes to Desktop. I reloaded once and it did it again about the same time Turkey switched sides. Also something that occured to me is that with both this scenario and the Cold War scenario shouldn't the British already be building the batleship Vangaurd? Since I understand that it was compleated in 1946, while in the scenarios the earliest it can be done is in 1947.
