Hey, can we expect Paradox to put Chapter 3 on Steam autumn sale for even a bigger discount? I looked at the Chapter 2 chart on SteamDB and saw that on the release day of LoP the chapter price went on a 35% discount and stayed so for a week. Then on Nov 21, the start of the autumn sale, the discount again became 35% and lasted for 2 days. So I was thinking when the discount is removed depends on the date of the autumn sale maybe?
Well, as a fellow forum user I obviously can't speak on behalf of PDX when it comes to product pricing or store offers, so take what I say with a big grain of salt here. All I can do is look at historic patterns and make a projection based on that.
Chapter II had its last DLC, Legacy of Persia, released on the 9th of November. 14 days later it was pulled from the store. It probably helped with the discount that it overlapped with two days of the Autumn Sale, but even the ongoing sale didn't prevent the bundle from being pulled from the store.
With Chapter III we're in a more difficult position. The last DLC from it released yesterday on the 4th of November. If the 14 days rule from last year indicates a wider pattern, then Chapter III will be gone on the 18th of November. This year the Steam Autumn Sale starts on the 27th November. See the problem? Yep, likely no sale this time around. Not in the Autumn Sale at least.
You can gamble on it staying longer in the store and hope that you get a bigger discount towards the end, but if the gamble goes wrong, you lose the -20% discount and it gets rolled into the Collection Bundle.
Not hat you have to buy the entire collection then, no, individual DLCs do go on sales and get bigger discounts the older they are. But the Collection Bundle is the only way to get the FreeLC bundle bonuses, and to get them, you have to buy the entire collection (or rather whatever you still don't have from it, Steam doesn't allow you to buy the same thing twice).
So, are you a gambling man, a risk-taker?
