is there will be the teaser today?
There is will be, at approximately 18:00 CEST (slightly over 90 minutes from the time of this posting).

Keep in mind that it's a teaser so by definition it won't have any earth-shattering news! We have more concrete news and stuff to show off just over the horizon; tonight's post is just to give people something to mull over in the meantime as well as an ETA on when they can hear more.

EDIT: Damn, beaten to it by seconds by my own post no less.

Looking at the standard social news outlets (twitter, facebook, instagram, discord); I don't think it's substantive enough to warrant a full-blown announcement thread on the forums though, so we'll likely forego that.

Again, small teaser ahead of bigger news. Don't want to oversell it.

Even if you drop a very small piece of meat (or Tofu), and try your best to tell us repeatedly how small that piece will be and not to hope for too much, what kind of reaction do you realistically expect?
Realistically? I expect it to ultimately be another data point in the big list of reasons why we shouldn't post teasers.

I'm an optimist at heart though, so we'll see.

Well, I hoped more for a "feed your dogs daily, so they don't go crazy when you throw them a bone once a quarter" approach. But that's just the hungry dog in me speaking. :cool:
In this case it's more that we won't always have something substantial to share.

We tried to maintain a regular cadence of dev diaries in the past, but "fluff" DDs just made people upset that we weren't posting more meaningful DDs. If there's not a substantial DD to share and a fluff DD just makes people unhappier than they were to begin with, then the only realistic option we have at that point is to not post at all.

Since we're already talking about pacing, with the Summer season starting soon, any chance for Summer teasers? You know, I really enjoyed those we had in 2021.
Not likely at this point unfortunately, but it's something I'm actively pushing for. I don't like it when the brand goes radio silent, but there's not a huge likelihood of us having a surplus of disclosable material ahead of summer vacations.

Not exactly a DD, but hopefully this is an acceptable appetizer ahead of next week.

Release date is the 24th of September, next DD is in eight days on the topic of Administrative Governments.

Sadly no DD this week, no further information in the video, and no 'vision' DD accompanying the date reveal. But at least the next DD is about the thing that I'm excited for most, so the council is placated for now.
We're shifting our DD strategy a bit for Roads to Power; Legends of the Dead left too much unsaid we're swinging the other direction now and trying to dump as much info as humanly possible onto players.

We're taking an extra week on this one to make sure it has the detail and impact that we want it to have. In other words, if you find next week's DD lacking, feel free to metaphorically throw rocks at me.

Teaser from facebook:
"Tune in tomorrow at 12pm CEST for our first Dev Diary covering the next Major Expansion, Roads to Power! This Tuesday we'll dive right into a breakdown of the new government type that will be introduced to #CK3 with many other Byzantium features: Administrative Government".
As an addendum: This isn't our usual publication time! Tomorrow's DD is going out at 12:00 instead of 14:00; future DDs should be going out in the usual 14:00 slot.

If last week's trend continues this week, we'll see one more video in a few days on DD#149, and next week another for DD#150. While those are mostly 1:1 verbatim versions of the written DD's we already have and know, those videos actually can include some minor new things, as was noted with regards to that tiny bit of new OST.

After that, thank god, we have already early August, and the council fully expects the normal DD schedule to resume tomorrow in two weeks. Two more weeks, boys and girls!
We slapped a new track we're particularly fond of into this video, just for you.

Let us turn off the lights, look into the dark mirror, and chant the name three times. That's when *it* is supposed to appear and answer one question:

@PDX-Trinexx @PDX-Trinexx @PDX-Trinexx

Oh great ruler of the nether beyond, tell us, is there will be a DD tomorrow?
Your summonings is heard, and an answer is given: Yes, there is will be a DD tomorrow. A hefty one, at that.

These DD's are so long I'd like an abbreviated version at this point. It feels like too much detail and text to fully grasp what it is about. I understand some ppl want loads of detail, but they lose more casual people like me with these DD's.
We do have more succinct "feature breakdown" videos on the schedule. They're essentially what you're asking for here.

@PDX-Trinexx

Since you're here, I have a question about the teaser, which I'm not sure will be answered by the DD: currently, as in WIP-currently, how big is the army you get from the conqueror decision, and more importantly, is it inheritable on succession?

Because I like to collect things in my games, and this seems like something I'd potentially want to collect.
700 Retinue Men-at-arms, not inheritable.

i might have to ask again in the diary proper, but what i want to know is if the trait inherits down like i think it was said would happen for ai great conquerors. i sort of understand the logic for not having a trait completely inaccessible to players, but players also absolutely do not need another leg up like that, even as a reward for accomplishing an extremely difficult set of conditions

id figure it doesnt bc good lord man but it doesnt hurt to check
We have a game rule for that. Options are: no inheritance, only primary heir, all independent heirs
