I don't think that a full-on Religion rework could be done, but I could see a Flavor pack focusing on the trans-alpine HRE also tackling the Investiture Controversy. That could in turn pave the way for Guelph-Ghibelline conflicts in Italy when they make Merchants and Republics next year.
If we exclude Islam, Eastern faiths, Jewish faiths, Gnosticism, and pagan faiths. Would a rework of Christian faiths for the DLC and maybe a rework of fervor for the free patch (to make where heresies sprout up logical rather than random) be possible on the scale of LoD? The investiture controversy and Guelph Ghibelline conflict require a rework of Catholicism, and a rework of Catholicism requires some work done on other Christian faiths. Features of the DLCs won’t be locked behind owning another DLC.

Nomads this year, and trade next year. I know some don't want to hear it, but the setup is clearly there to think about the map expansion towards a complete map, China in other words. Nomads and East Asia are two sides of the same coin.

It's an enticing thought, to succeed as Genghis Khan where the real one failed: to conquer Japan, India, and Europe, and have an empire spanning from Galicia to Edo.

Nomads indeed, a much needed religion rework will thus not be in the cards I guess.

The thing with religion is that it's already very developed compared to CK2, in the eyes of the devs we got the religion rework on the jump from CK2 and CK3 I think. The one thing it probably needs is the ability to reform religions like you can cultures i.e. without needing to create an entirely new one just to change one little thing. And that is probably more patch material.

Probably only affects nomads, but it would be interesting if it affects settled populations.

I could see it at least affecting or being affected by settled holdings if they invest more into representing mixed nomadic and sedentary population/seminomadic behavior. In CKII nomads exclusively leveled all holdings they directly held, only ruling over sedentary peoples indirectly through vassals, while they themselves could only be vassals of other nomads. Reality could be more complicated, including in Persia, which is an area they've already covered. I personally hope for more of that kind of nuance, but we'll see.

If they do have more complex nomad-sedentary interactions, then that would raise the question of whether desert nomads and semi-nomadic peoples like the Sami would receive content, or if it will only be Steppe nomads.

If I were to be a little more positive about the nomad expansion. An expansion for nomads & tribes would atleast add something for wide swathes of the map across all start dates.

What do we think for the other parts of the chapter? 2 FP's or another core expansion and an event pack?

I would not mind 2 FP's, perhaps something European (English?) and something non-European (Africa or India?)

I would love 2 FP's this year.
I really think that Chapters should be bigger. 4 parts not 3(+cosmetic bonus). There are tons of places to fill with content. Event packs don't really do that.

Alright so by my estimations we'll hopefully have one more Dev diary this month about the free 2nd quarter patch. Unless plans have changed and they've decided to incorpate that into the chapter reveal later

Is the patch confirmed to be on the second quarter? Last info I remember is "early next year" in the 2024 wrapup

Edit: found it

is there will be a trinxxx today?
I think so.
These Content Creator packs are part of our ongoing collaboration with the modding community, bringing their expertise and passion for the Medieval world into official content for Crusader Kings III.

Join us on Tuesday, February 18th for a dev diary exploring the content of both of these packs in further detail!

it’s developed for the player but not the AI, the AI will never make a new faith (even in heresies) and when they reform a pagan faith they won’t change anything about it

spiritual heads of faiths are essentially just shells as the Holy Wars are based on predefined goals and stretch goals (with a single exception, but it’s very hidden and only for catholics) and get fired by events while temporal ones don’t have any unique mechanics whatsoever
the irish christianity faith, or others with the (i think it’s called) Rite tenant don’t have unique interactions with Catholics (like joining their crusades) and a reformed/organised faith can never change its doctrines outside of a select few faiths with event chains attached to them
