Np, Cc. Early on in the session I saw Poland embroiled in a war with Bohemia to help Silesia. Silesia then got annexed by Bohemia IIRC but Poland managed to take in right back in a peace settlement. And at the end of the session I think AI Poland DOWed KoM's vassal, or something like that.
Yep, that damn Polish AI stole my vassal! I'm going to let you get away with it, though, because it was a Lithuanian vassal, so it's in the buffer zone, not a vital interest. And also because the AI completely hammered my armies; I'm glad it didn't have any claims on me.
Heh, if that was the Polish AI beatingup on you then I wonder how Cc himself would do against Kiev.

Well, against a human I would not make the mistake of trying to assemble my army on the actual border. Muster points inside my territory, that's the ticket. The AI kind of surprised me with how aggressive it was.
Guys, I forgot to ask, but was Ego and/or Drachenfire there last session?? If they were not, lets try to find a couple more people this week.
They both were, but I think they both had connectivity problems as well. Edmund (who I think was Drachenfire), dropped part of the way through, and Ego had constant problems with lagging and dropping. He said he's going to try to get it fixed by Friday.

Sorry for not replying sooner, and sorry for such a laggy game from my part, but i have GREAT news. You can call me an idiot, but i just found out, that under Windows XP, if you link your pc directly to your router and turn the computer off about 30 mins (yes 30 mins, it is wierd but...), and then turn it on again, you have internet without configuring anything. So i guess my great lag is gone for good.

Also I suggest utilizing teamspeak or Ventrilo for VOIP it allows for a greater degree of communication and you can configure it for private messages.

It seems France is open again, as our player there never showed after her first time. Spain is also kinda empty, though the Moslems seem to be winning, so it may not be a good position for a newbie. Then there is Bohemia or another German duchy - I would quite like another counterweight to Poland. A Burgundian or Flandern duke is also a possibility - small now, great possibilities later. (And, of course, you would start under the protection of the HRE, which is a powerful shield indeed.) Finally, though I do not recommend it, there is the possibility of taking a Scandinavian Kingdom, a Balkan kingdom or duchy, or a Russian princedom. All of these places are pretty crowded, though - you'd end up in player-player wars quite quickly, against experienced players who've had a few years to expand their power bases. I think France is your best bet.

Yep, France indeed would be best. Although England is getting back into the field, i still think you can manage to unite the mainland. Also, since all of Iberia is overun with moors (except for navarra, who holds now aragon as well), you could simply conquer the whole peninsula. In the East, like KoM said, the place is already too crowded. Hungary, Poland, Kiev, Georgia (oh man, georgia should never be controled by a human player) and now the "new" kingdom of croatia are all controled by human players. Although KoM said that playing as flanders would be good, i don't advise it. Unless you change your sucession laws, you would end up being part of the "growing" english empire, not to mention that there are no easy pickings nearby.
Btw KoM, why would you advise Scandinavia? I am playing as Norway, ate half of sweden, and denmark didn't even conquer one single province yet. You really think that any of those would beat my 15k manpower? i guess not

France wouldn't be a bad choice at all. If you decide to go that route, or the Burgundian route, I could probably give you a hand. My Queendom of "Croatia" is mainly centered in Northern Italy.
