I suppose it would be a little too much to ask for a special package that has both games so that I only need to make one trip to the mall.... ;)

Since both games are pretty much targeted to the same audience, don't you think the will be completed(and thus released) at least several monthes from each other? It would make business sense.

I actually love this period more than the EU1-2 ones :)

Big thumbs up!

I agree as well.

A game of the High Middle Ages with Europa Universalis quality gameplay and historical accuracy!

A must buy.

I would guarantee that this game is going to be my favorite Middle Ages game since Genghis Khan II!

since this game conveniently ends in 1419, it would be cool if there was a feature to convert a crusader kings save game into a EU2 one, so you can sort of continue it...

That's a great idea!!!! I woudl love if paradox could implent this ... Pleaaase :)

Won't work, the maps wil be different :(

True, buuuut. They could code some programs that say : CK province x= eu province y. So if coutry A owns province x in CK, well This said coutry = country B in eu. So coutryu B owns province Y at the start!!

I'm saying that, but I don't know if that could be done :)

Very very very excited.

Excited enough to ruin my OT percentage by posting in a forum where posts actually count.

This is even more welcome news considering that Lords of the Realm III seems moribund.

The only problem with Crusader Kings appears to be a very limited map - meaning no Mongols, no China, no Khorezmshahs, no India. Would've been a lot cooler to have sevral maps to play on.

The Mongols will have to be in the game in some way - if only just appearing along the eastern edge of the map in huge hordes at some point.

As for the Khwarizm Shahs, it depends one exactly how east the map goes. The description says the Urals form one edge - that could definitely include the Khwarizm area if, say, the edge of the map was at 60 degrees east. And, as the game (should these rumors turn out to be true and it is being developed) appears to be less further along in development than HoI, maybe you and I and others interested in the area can petition them to move the border a bit further to the east to ensure Transoxania and Afghanistan, with all their interesting medieval history, can be included. Heck, even a small section added to the side of the map just going from N. Afghanistan to the edge of the steppes to cover this area would be sufficient (ever see the Old Penguin Atlas of Medieval History? It did this very thing)...

As for areas further east, as much as I would like to see them, I can understand why they wish to concentrate on the Europe/Middle East area for this game...

I want Saxons!

Why oh why does everybody ignore the pre-1066 period? Any system that models the 11th century could easily be carried back to the late ninth.

How many Crusades happened in the pre-1066 period?

Perhaps but what happened then was more a release of what had been building for a few centuries. But starting the game with charlemagne on the height of his power might create some problems yes so I see no problem with this starting date. Now I get the chance to win Manzikert.:D
