Wow, what a great idea... If we do such a game we will definately think about such a feature :D

Lol, reminds me of the hell that Warspite had when he was going to convert his Italy AAR to EU2. :D

Seems like a challenge that Johan would like. *tries to tempt him* :)

The Mongols will have to be in the game in some way - if only just appearing along the eastern edge of the map in huge hordes at some point.

As for the Khwarizm Shahs, it depends one exactly how east the map goes. The description says the Urals form one edge - that could definitely include the Khwarizm area if, say, the edge of the map was at 60 degrees east. And, as the game (should these rumors turn out to be true and it is being developed) appears to be less further along in development than HoI, maybe you and I and others interested in the area can petition them to move the border a bit further to the east to ensure Transoxania and Afghanistan, with all their interesting medieval history, can be included. Heck, even a small section added to the side of the map just going from N. Afghanistan to the edge of the steppes to cover this area would be sufficient (ever see the Old Penguin Atlas of Medieval History? It did this very thing)...

As for areas further east, as much as I would like to see them, I can understand why they wish to concentrate on the Europe/Middle East area for this game...

Darn, I was hoping that the map would cover most of Europe/Asia, so you could play as Medival China or the Mongols, etc. I guess there's just too big a risk of Europe finding out about and signing alliances with China in 1100.

The only problem with Crusader Kings appears to be a very limited map - meaning no Mongols, no China, no Khorezmshahs, no India. Would've been a lot cooler to have sevral maps to play on.

Meaning that there can be more detail. No more huge provinces - lots of towns/cities/castles.

Mongols played a very big part in the history of this era - I don't think they can be left out entirely.

So did the Khorezmshahs, or Chinese, but where are they?

C'mon Crook, we don't know for sure that Khwarizm proper (the land just to the south of the Aral Sea) is going to be off the map...

hehe... this thread is so off topic in this forum... :D

So we are looking at 2 games needing BETA testing at the same time... hehe... I can only hope to get a position for one of the two, plus Legion, plus my addiction to EU2... its gonna be a looooong summer :)

Here is the info I read. Nowhere does it mention Chinese in medieval Europe.

Crusader Kings reportedly takes Europa Universalis to another level, using the same engine, but expanding the game into the feudal kingdoms of medieval Europe in the time period of 1066-1419 A.D. The game map begins in Europe, stretching to the Urals in the East and including parts of Persia, the Arabian Peninsula, as well as the Coast of North Africa.
