I know the situation in Ethiopia isn't very simple, but it strikes me as kind of odd that Shewa conquering Harar can immediately form Ethiopia because they make up the single state of Oromia. I know parts of the region had been in previous iterations of the Ethiopian state, but it's just a bit weird to me since it means you can form Ethiopia with territory that is almost entirely out of the 'traditional' core territory of Ethiopia, bar Shewa. It feels like if Wales was able to form the UK by conquering Ireland and ignoring everything else.

The San Juan river that runs from Lake Nicaragua to the Caribbean between the states of Nicaragua and Costa Rica doesn't seem to exist, which seems like a fairly major oversight considering it was a major route across the Central American Isthmus before the construction of the Panama Canal. I would have honestly expected some kind of infrastructure bonus for the state of Nicaragua to reflect this fact.

The Ems North Sea inlet should be further west and Emden should be on it instead of the North Sea directly (see screenshots) :)

Calcutta should be on the west of this river (currently it's in modern Bangladesh for some reason?).

About Ranchi and Jamshedpur...hoo boy.
First of, Jamshedpur was a small unimportant village in 1836 called Sakchi which was renamed after Jamshedji Tata in 1919. And it's not even in Bengal!
Jamshedpur is south of Purulia (marked in blue) in the modern state of Jharkhand. While Ranchi is in central Jharkhand just north-west of Purulia.
Anyways I feel that the urban center of North Bengal state should be Dhaka which was, y'know, the second largest city in Bengal?

There are no mines in northern Bengal so I have no idea why Siliguri is a mining town... the only mines in Bengal are in the Raniganj - Bankura region (marked in red) which produces coal. Infact the Raniganj coal mine has been operational since 1774. There is barely any iron in this state.

Chittagong should be the port city as it had the one of the largest harbours in undivided Bengal, while Cox's Bazar was established in 1854, so...

Let me make a few suggestions on Japanese cities.
I don't feel comfortable seeing name of cities which didn't exist in the era.

Hokkaido
Asahikawa(旭川): Do not exist in 1836, founded and named in 1890 by Japanese colonists. The area was called "Peni Unguri Kotan (Village on the Upstream People=上川) " or "Peniunkur(ペニウンクル)" in Ainu language.
Kitami(北見): Do not exist in 1836, named in 1870 by a Japanese explorer. "Abashiri(アバシリor網走)" could be an alternate since it was a trading spot between Japanese and Ainu people from Edo period.

Tohoku
Akita(秋田): Should be called Kubota(久保田) in 1836, but not a big problem since it would be renamed Akita during Meiji Restoration.
Oushu(奥州): Newly named after merger of municipalities in 2006. Mizusawa(水沢) would be the traditional name.

Kanto
Hitachinaka(ひたちなか): Newly named after merger of municipalities in 1994. Naka(那珂) would be the traditional name, or Mito(水戸) was more important city in the area.

Chubu
Shizuoka(静岡):Traditionally called "Sumpu(駿府)" before the Meiji Restoration.

Shikoku
Nankoku(南国): Newly fouded city after merger of municipalities in 1959. Kouchi(高知) was more important city in the area.

Kyushu
Kitakyushu(北九州): Newly named after merger of municipalities in 1963. Kokura(小倉) would be the traditional name.

I'd reccomend some agricultural or population negative to the north American great plains until a technology is researched. Historically it was undesirable land for western style settlement, the ground too rough and tangled with thick grass to be easily plowed and settlement only picked up around the middle of the era.

To note also, Norfolk is misspelled as Nordfolk.

Omaha as the main urban hub makes sense, other important settlements of the era include Fort Kearny and other Platte River trail forts thay protected supply lines to the maintain states.

Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and other states should be homelands for the various Native American cultures. At least have Georgia be the Cherokee homeland, they were just living there!

Vladivostok is a Russian colonial name that literally means "Rule over East" or "Keeping the East" – it was a declaration of intent in the name of the colony (mostly populated by immigration form Ukrainian and sprinkled by Polished dissidents, with eventually completely forcefully eliminated Chinese population, but this is a separate story).

In the time period and under Qing dynasty a village there should be called Haishenwai. A Russian city name is exceptionally out of place at the start of the game, but will be a great touch if Russian repeat the history in game taking over that territory. See wiki for few more details about my hometown history.

I hope it is something that could be added to the game, naming places by the other nation names just does not make sense and reinforces bad history. Vladivostok is Russian name with very specific meaning, a hub in Qing dynasty China just cannot hold a name like this.
We all waiting when the Treaty of Aigun will be in the game.

I cant understand choices in north italian map.
Today it's impossible to play a historical play through in italy. Main changes:
1) Divide south tirol province from trento province This is an incredible mistake I cant believe you did in a victorian age game.
2)Trieste province and istria province should be divided. I cant explain my disappointment for this choice. I cant even do a Fiume mod.
3) venice deserves a different province from Verona and Veneto

other minor changes:

4) Croatia is ok right now but a new dalmatia provinces would be more accurate.
5)Lombardy province should be splitted between Milan and Mantua province. You can choose a minor river between two cities to split the region. In order to undestand the reason of this suggestion, check 1848 Piedmont Austria war.

Other suggestions:
as written by other players a lot of times, Austria should be more influential in peninsula having more protectorate and declaring interest.

Now it's time to talk about other choices. Italian cultures I think are choosen in a beer night. ALso in germany they arent the best but in italy situation is even worse because they are just 2. In the name of god, delete this nightmare and define:
sicilian culture (just remember parlermo uprising vs naples intelligentia, ) naples culture,
sardinian culture (why u choose sardinian as "south italian culture, in the name of what? why corsican culture deserves its own slot and sardinian is south of italy?!?!
roman culture.. Here in rome u choose to split in half italian pops between north and south because why not.
Tuscanian culture, piedmont culture, milanese culture and venice culture.
Otherwise it's impossibile to understand italian pops conflicts after piedmont intelligentia victory and in general risorgimento was a wide movement where each culture proposed its own leadership.

If u dont want to change it, so make just one culture. There is no point to split in half italian culture it's insanely stupid

Other geograèhic mistakes:
a lot of mistakes here and there with rivers and islandsl Venice isnt Venice... But It. I cant understand why you put San marino in the map and not in the game. For Garibaldi it was a really important country and there was a conflict even with Austria.

In the end a Genoa province I think can improve the game just to give to Sardinia Piedmont country a better development

Isn't the river that goes on the west side of Calcutta the best option for a second branch of the Ganges mouth ? It's not very realistically drawn, but that would explain the location of Calcutta.

Also, this region seems very empty when compared to comparable areas in Europe (more cities in Belgium than on this screenshot ?) ...

Despite the fact that Queensland is the Australian state responsible for over 60% of Australia's black coal resources, you cannot make coal mines in Queensland.
Currently, you can make 80 coal mines in NSW and 40 in WA, but none in any other states. Aside from the Northern Territory, every state should be able to have some coal mines, even if only a few. States from most to least coal: Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and Tasmania

Using New South Wales and Western Australia as reference points, the number of coal mines per state should be:
100 for Queensland
80 for New South Wales
60 for Victoria
40 for South Australia
40 for Western Australia
20 for Tasmania

Additionally, Queensland and New South Wales should have state modifiers relating to their coal fields that give a +10% coal mines building throughput.

In the north-east of Spain, the city of Lleida is placed inside Aragon state instead of Catalonia state. It should be inside Catalonia (it's one of the 4 provinces there -- source: I live there).
