Hello everybody.

1- I would like to warn you that the location of the city of Lisbon is incorrect, it should be on the other side of the river (it is one of the most famous cities in the world, I don't understand how they get it wrong...).

2- The nation of Uruguay has a dilemma. It has only one state (so far so good), but the interest of the region is Brazil. It becomes impossible to evolve because it cannot conquer states south of Uruguay (La Plata), only north (Brazil). It becomes even more bizarre as Uruguay's primary culture is the same as Argentina's. Now, what sense does it make to have a declared interest in territories to the north (Brazil) of primary Brazilian culture, and not to have interest in the south (La Plata), whose culture is the same and/or of decentralized nations (South America)?
This makes the nation Uruguay unable to expand territorially, as being a single nation-state, it will never rise in prestige to be able to declare interest in the south. Changing a simple detail, in the beginning the interest was in the south (La Plata) instead of in the north (Brazil). The only solution I've seen to work around is to submit to a Great Power, and with that, ask for military help to conquer states. But it's not feasible, it doesn't make sense.

3- Can you confirm that Portugal's finances, at the beginning of the game, are not exaggerated, for an imperial and colonial nation? They are negative at 7.2 (more or less) and it is very difficult to get rid of that deficit, even with all government and military expenditures at a minimum. It feels weird and unreal.

4- Can I suggest to Paradox to add more goods? For example cork (Portugal is the world leader in production in the Alentejo, with a long tradition in its use), olive oil and ivory?

Probably more, unique and specific to each continent or region, or even unique to a nation.

Thank you and I apologize for any grammatical errors there may be. I'm loving Vic3 and CK3. And I expect a big glamorous expansion to South America eheheh

Tampere is supposed to be between two large lakes: There should be another one on the South side of Tampere. This is important because the reason for Tampere's spectacular rise during this era was largely the rapids flowing between those two lakes, making it almost free energy. And yes: I know this was briefly mentioned already, but I wanted to make a more precise point.

There is an additional gripe about Lisbon: It does not have a natural harbor trait. I think its one of the most obvious and well known natural harbors on the globe. One just need to look at Lisbon in Google maps to see that there is definitely a natural harbor that has at least 3 ports there, including one for military.

Part of Bougainville cannot be naval invaded, which in understandable, but the problem is, that it also does not have any connection to rest of the Bougainville, making it a perfect safe haven as well as a blocker for war score ticking below zero. For comparison, other archipelago state regions have these land connections.

Very small suggestion for Spain: The Canary Islands should have the potential for fruit plantations, since it was (and still is) its main export!

I am not sure if culture should be mentioned here but all of the Balkans is a mess.
Greece ,Serbia ,Wallachia and Moldova have something like 100% ethnic purity at the beggining of the game.
The rest of the Balkans are almost majority Turk, Sunni..
Meanwhile None of the Serbs ,Bulgarians ,Greeks ,Albanians , Montenegrians inside the Ottoman empire ever rebel and none of the nations try to atack the ottomans to unite with their ethnic minorities.
If you free the with another nation then.
The Capital of huge Bulgaria becomes Plovdiv- should be Sofia.
The Capital of Croatia is at the wrong place .

Saint Paul the capital of Minnesota (USA) is missing. It's right across the river from Minneapolis. Not sure if there would be issues with two cities so close, but hyphenating it or using "Twin Cities" would be a better option

Masuria is German too much. In 1829 "Preussische Provinzial Blatter" they said: "Trade and communication with neighboring Poland leads prussian Masuria to conistently having contact with Poland. Often children of prussian Masurians, especially daughters go to Poland, often Warsaw, to work as maids and they bring here literary polish language. Also prussian Masurian (in that way they called Poles that were living here to take away from their that they are talking in polish, they say it is "masurian speech") is taking his church education and school education only in polish.; his teachers with some exceptions, they can teach only in this language (polish). Bible, school textbooks and hymnals are also only in polish. Before the masurian-polish court peasant make a complaint only in polish, and after that they are translated later to german language, often very inacurrately. In marketplaces and meetings you can hear only polish language. Their private contracts, Masurians write - even if they know german - only in polish. Polish language in these parts, prussian-masurian villages is a mother tongue, language of education and a common language. There's nothing strange then, that masurian-polish Pole do not understand german book, or any written text; whereas teachers, students, officials, innkeepers and peasants can understand printed polish text even if it is in literary polish language".

Ten years later prussian statistician August von Haxthausen wrote: "In certain counties in example in Johhannesburg (Pisz, Janów), Lyck (Ełk, Łęk), Sensburg (now Mrągowo, then Żądzbork) it is hard to find any German. They made up only 5% of population. Poles do not let anyone to drive them out of towns. Masurians is connected to his language and even if the understands german, he will communicate in this language only in extremis. He is unfriendly to any stranger who is trying to communicate with him in german, he pretends to do not understand and didn't answer. Masurians are separated from other polish people, by other rule, government and religion. Nevertheless they represent a polish type of character, but modificated by education, type of thinking, that reformation bringed them (they were primarly protestant in Masuria. In Warmia (Ermland) Poles were catholic.) and constantly meeting with german officials".

In 1853 evangelical consistory in Koningsberg stated: "Counties of Nidzica (Neidenburg), Szczytno (Ortelsburg or masurian Scÿtno) Johhanesburg (Pisz, Janów) and Lyck (Elk) you can barely find any German and only in towns".

Prussian statistics (remember they can be little driven to the german side) from 1848 stated that in counties like:
Węgorzewo (Angerburg) - Poles - 3,333 Germans - 25,516
Pisz, Janów (Johannesburg) - Poles 29,386 Germans - 3,695
Giżycko, Lec (Lötzen) - Poles 21,207 Germans - 3,086
Ełk, Łec (Lyck) - Poles 27,718 Germans - 3,635
Olecko, Margrabowo (Treuburg) - Poles 22,074 Germans - 6,266
Szczytno (Ortelsburg) - Poles - 42,827 Germans - 5,581
Mrągowo (Sensburg) - Poles - 27,958 Germans - 4,921

So it's something like 210,000 Poles and 77,000 Germans.

Same thing in Warmia (Ermland) and in Kashubia but here I do not have many information to fill it up : )

My interpretation of Arable Land is that it represents the amount of agriculture that is feasible in a state. As such, a place with more productive land would be expected to have a greater density of Arable Land per area.

However, some areas are *massively* undervalued for arable land. Macau, with an area of 115 square kilometres, has 39 arable land. British Columbia has 24 (incidentally, 30 is the threshold for cultural migration, so you can't get any mass migration to Western Canada, though Alaska somehow has 32 arable land.

In terms of grain, some searching found results indicating that Guangdong as a whole (over 700 arable land) produces about six times as many tonnes of grain as British Columbia, despite British Columbia having a fifth of the area.
Perhaps, then, British Columbia should have about 100 arable land. Other numbers could probably be reached by looking at different statistics, but I'm sure most would result in more than just 24 arable land, if Guangdong's amount of arable land is used as a baseline.\

I suggest that all arable land values be recalculated, as this discrepancy is *massive*.

British Heligoland. It's meant to be traded in the 1890s with Germany in exchange for colonies. Why it's missing in this time period is beyond me.

Also just more lumber resource in the rainforests of south america would make sense, it's relatively devoid of lumber in V3.

I noticed that the Dutch territories in the Caribbean are completely missing from the game (respectively, they are in the game, but do not belong to the Netherlands). Specifically, these are the Netherlands Antilles and Curaçao. Curaçao is even more important due to the fact that large oil reserves are located there (see Royal Dutch Petroleum Company).

The mountains in Vermont and the rest of New England are way too big. There should be a strip of land on the east side of the mountains in Vermont but it is currently blocked by a the type of mountain that doesn't exist in the state.

Have you stumbled across an area of the world that is not looking as you’d expect it to? Is a named “hub” (city, mine, farm, etc) erroneously placed or misnamed?

Document them here! We will do our best to investigate it further!

Keep in mind that since we do not have dynamic renaming for hubs, we often use names that are anachronistic for 1836 but which would become relevant later in the timeframe. We do not consider these bugs unless the settlement in question was founded after our end date, 1936.

Hello, Sorry for the LATE reply, I just bought the game today and I just started playing it.

I am a latin american player, Originally from Venezuela, Later I moved to Panama, married to a Panamanian woman. I see some discrepancies in some areas of both countries Venezuela and Panama I will try to explain them as best as I can.

Venezuela:
  • Zulia was not a city in Venezuela it was a state, there is a city in the Zulia State called Maracaibo, this city is at the west of Venezuela "around" the huge lake to the west "Lago de Maracaibo". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maracaibo .
  • At the north of Barquisimeto, in the game it shows a small "island" this is not an island but a actual land from the country connected by a very small piece of land, this area is a desert type of land. it is called Coro (I dont think it is required for the game purposes though, just mostly map design).
  • San Carlos, its location can be a little further south, it is too close to the north of venezuela.
  • Valencia is also TOO close to the north, Valencia is not a coastal city. it has a lake close to the city that is.
  • Maturin would technically be at the south of the lake in the game.
  • Ciudad Bolivar is the Capital of Bolivar state and it is missing from the game entirely. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciudad_Bolívar was founded in 1764 it is where it was found huge amounts of iron, carbon and more.
Panama:
  • Panama City: was way older than Las Tablas, it should be represented ingame somehow I believe, and it was the main city hub for the construction of the Panama Canal in the different ocations.

The state of California should be named Alta California while under the rule of Spanish-speaking countries, especially Mexico – to distinguish it from the state of Baja California and also to add some flavour.

This is a repost, and has probably been reported already, but regarding Japan....

1672763246890.png

Okay, let's start off with number 1: what would become the Okinawa Prefecture, the Ryukyu Kingdom. This Kingdom was nominally independent until 1879, but a vassal of the Satsuma Domain from the early 17th century. From this perspective, I get why the tag was not included. However, the borders are wrong.

1) the two islands next to Taiwan had been part of the Ryukyu Kingdom for hundreds of years (probably from the 15th century, and most likely before that, too). They should be included in the territory of Ryukyu (or, in our case, the Shogunate). Also, these islands (all of islands in the chain) should have sugar production centers. Okinawa was/if famous for "black sugar," and there is a very strong alcohol (a local good) made from this sugar.

2) Kyushu and the northernmost Islands of the Okinawa chain. In-game, Kyushu (the large island in the red #2 square) comprised of a number of domains. It included the southern most islands in the box, which are portrayed as part of the Okinawa state. This is a historical relic from when one of the Japanese daimyo's invaded Okinawa in the 17th century. It remains to this day -- it should be changed.

3) Hokkaido is another place that is poorly represented. It's hard to get into this without going into a history lesson, but Ezo (Hokkaido) and the islands to the north were not fully integrated into Japan proper until the Meiji Restoration. Japan only maintained a foothold in Hakodate (which is the southern tip of Ezo) until then. This does not mean they did not control the island, or the islands to the north. They maintained control through merchant colonizers, who obtained essentially political control over the Ainu population and the resources of the North through licenses and hereditary appointments from the daimyo in Hakodate, and from the central government to said daimyo.

This is a very simplistic and long-winded way of saying: the entirety of Hokkaido and at least some of the islands to the north (including part of Sakhalin/Karafuto) should be given into full Japanese control. A better representation would probably be Ainu Mosir as a vassal of Japan, not open to colonization by Russia. In fact, I would actually expand Ainu Mosir in such a scenario to include the Kuril Islands, and much of Hokkaido (and some parts of Karafuto and Sakhalin).

The current colonization system can model this well for the northern islands, especially Karafuto/Sakhalin -- giving Japan (and even Russia) some outposts on the island (and even in the Northern part of the Kuril chain).

4) These are both kind of strange to me. Japan should absolutely NOT have the southernmost chain of islands under their control; but neither of these chains should be in the Kyushu state -- instead, the southern most (if they remain with Japan) should be part of Micronesia, and the northern most should be part of Kanto (as it is today, and as it was in history).

Some thoughts on South Africa:

(1) Swaziland should be a country in Transvaal

(2) There should be a native African kingdom in south-eastern Mozambique called Gaza

(3) Pietermaritzburg should probably be replaced by Bulawayo or another city as the initial settlement in Zululand

(4) the northeastern part of the cape should be an independent country called Xhosaland

(5) the Lesotho should be a centralized nation not a decentralized one

(6) Zululand should probably be split into two states - Natal in the South West and Zululand in the North East

Also, outside of south africa, Tonga should be a centralized state

Looking at Bohemia, the city names are pretty weird.

Jihlaba should be Jihlava (seems like a typo - are these names typed by hand?)

"Ceske" should be České Budějovice - at first I thought the second word was just getting cut off somewhere, but Banska Bystrica over in West Slovakia would suggest otherwise.
